He's forgetting the M after the card. M stands for mobility (or mobile). I would be vewwy scared of saying that his card can run it.

My old i7 and strix 970 will run this game at max, no doubt about it, at 1080p. If I buy a fancy monitor (which is on the list) then perhaps I will upgrade, although more likely I will SLI another 970 and be fine at 4k.
It has to run on consoles, people.

I'm not very pushy when it comes to fps. My targeted range is 30-60, considering I have both a PC, and a PS4 (I play Mass Effect on my PC, and Uncharted on my PS4). I currently have a GTX 970, so I shouldn't have a problem. I got it brand new a little more than a year ago. What concerns me is large, and sudden drops in the frame rate. For example: One second, it's 40-60, then it sudden drops to 20-25, depending on you're doing in the game. I've seen this happen to Mass Effect on the Xbox 360, and PS3.

Its the 1070 I was looking at, but its huge. Also I think 970 is still a potent card and will go above 40 fps. 40fps is something I only expect in extremely vast landscapes and even Witcher 3 very rarely dipped that low for me on Ultra.

I was getting way over 60fps on a 3770K+GTX980 on Inquisition in 1080 - but locked it to 60: I would have thought a 970 would have hovered around 60 with dips to 50fps or so in 1080p - I was using a 7970 for half the playthrough too, and was getting mostly 60fps with the same CPU: what CPU did you have with that 970 mate?

It's not odd, I had the same fps with gtx 970 on both fx 8350 and later with i7 6700k about 40-45 fps average), and now with gtx 1070 I have 65+ average but I'm using maximum settings beyond ultra (yes you can set some settings higher than ultra if you choose to customize them..) I should add that those fps are from in game benchmark, in the actual gameplay I have 70-120 fps for most of the time.

Per Nvidia: 384 CUDA cores | 1033MHz | 1085MHz Boost | 4GB VRAM | DDR3 | 1800MHz |
Passmark average of 2165. Futuremark score of 2310. Futuremark suggests that similar performers are the GTX 650 and HD6850. A true monster of a card, if you ask me. If he's not positive that this card will be good enough, I'm going to guesstimate the absolute minimum GPU spec being a 650 Ti/R7 260, as both of these cards have Passmark scores around 25% higher, and seem to occupy the same price bracket. Completely pulling this out of my ass, but hey, baseless speculation is fun sometimes.

I just found this on Instant-Gaming: Negative on that, ghost rider. Inquisition required a minimum of 4GB of ram, and Battlefield 1 (which runs on the same engine) requires 8GB. There is no way on God's green earth that Andromeda will run with just 1GB of ram. Hell, 64-bit Windows 7 (which that lists as the OS) won't even run on it's own with just 1GB of ram. Plus there's the whole thing where Bioware hasn't officially announced what the minimum specs will be.

Good to know. I didn't play DA:I, but my card is an HD7970, and my CPU is the first ever core i5. They have both serviced me very well for several years, and looking at the gameplay footage, I believe I should be able to get 60 fps @ 1080p and high settings, because I easily can with similar looking games.

For those with Nvidia cards: www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/mass-effect-andromeda-exclusive-trailerDon't know how serious it is that Nvidia is saying they are working with BW on this, because frankly, Devs work with BOTH AMD and Nvidia. DA:I played better on AMD cards if memory serves. Generally FBIII played better on AMD cards so don't know what to make of this push by Nvidia. Could just be mindshare stuff, but there is an off chance that BW devs are working more closely with Nvidia here. That said, the consoles use AMD cards and there was the whole PS4 demo @4k. Thoughts?

From what I remember, Nvidia supplied Bioware with a bunch of hardware a few months ago. I suspect that this is just marketing stuff to uphold Bioware's end of the contract.

Replacing a Gtx 970 to play a game that uses a 2013's engine and at 1080p resolution, seriously? A Gtx 970 runs BF1 at 90 fps 1080p. ME:A uses the same engine. ME:A will most likely run worse and look worse than BF1 or even 2013's BF4. Bioware does not have the same expertise as Dice has as far as optimizing games goes. Still, if ME:A does not run maxed at 1080p 60 fps, you can simply lower the setting a little and play it at 60 fps, with little to no compromise in terms of visual (can anyone tell the difference between High and Ultra on a fast paced game these days?). Regarding Dragon Age: Inquisition, that game was a joke in terms of optimization. Nevertheless, a Gtx should handle it decently at 60 fps 1080 as long as you lower the settings to anything below Ultra. And while ME:A may not be better optimized than DA:I, it is not that likely that it will be even worse.

Honestly the only requirements that truly matter nowadays are Free Disk Space and whether or not Internet connection is required to play the Campaign mode. The rest is really not a big deal, people who are into PC Hardware already know what to expect. Besides, this game uses a 2013's engine, one that has already been used for several other titles. There are no secrets to it.

Okay guys I've finally managed to pull up my PC's specs GeForce GTX 745 Intel(r) Core(TM) i7-4790 @ 3.60GHz 16.0 GB RAM 64-bit Operating System I just copied this from the info that comes up under "system" and the nvidia graphics card, so I'm sure I look like a moron haha But if this is enough information, could anyone take a gander as to whether I can play MEA (pretty sure I can) but most importantly, at what settings? EDIT: Some extra sleuthing revealed I have a 330w power supply, and just for the record it's an alienware x51 r2

I would say 1080p on Low is a safe bet, you might be able to push some settings to Medium but I doubt you'll get very stable framerates. The 745, as previously discussed, is a very weak card and has no business being paired with a top-end i7. If you want to play on higher settings, you will need to buy a new graphics card which will probably necessitate buying a power supply with higher wattage as well. edit: There really isn't a whole lot of information about this card online. However, I did find a video of it playing Battlefront (a game that runs on the same engine as Andromeda), which shows it at 1080p with all the settings on Medium, running at 25-35 FPS.

Hmm well that looked okay to me; I actually have that game and have played it and it looks pretty great. I also currently play DAI on a mix of high and ultra settings.
Thanks! Yeah I'm disappointed in the alienware but there weren't many options for a compact gaming PC that would fit under my TV in the entertainment center. They also lied about the graphics card; they said it was in the 900 series (forget which) but yes it's just the 745. This was the SECOND PC they had to send me b/c the first broke. So, at that point, I didn't want to deal with them anymore.
I would love to replace the card but don't know how. As for the power supply, wouldn't that just encompass buying a new one? I wouldn't have to open the PC up or anything, right? Sorry for my ignorance ^^
I am hoping maybe I could replace the card myself using a youtube video or something.....
