You have the same system I have.
250GB SSD?
Yup! Samsung 250 GB SSD and a 1 TB Seagate hard drive. Installing MEA on the SSD for the super fast load times. DAI would always load a map in under 30 seconds, usually less. Gotta love SSD's I almost have the exact same thing, except I have a 2 TB HDD because I do video editing and save all the FRAPS files to the HDD. But the brands are the same for each item.
Let's see how far this goes. RAM is Crucial Ballistix. I also have a Noctua NH-D14 heatsink/fan (that one is pretty popular).
The SSD kind of annoyed me in ME2 because it would load so fast the little tooltips or things like the animation of the shuttle traveling on the Citadel would only show for like 3 secs.

We're pretty close then! My RAM is Kingston though, and I just stuck with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Pretty basic cooling, but it does the job, and I wear headphones all the time, so I rarely notice the noise, though I heard the Noctua D14's are renowned for their silence and efficiency. While SSD's may have been too fast for ME2, they are perfect for modern games of today. Can't imagine waiting several minutes for a map to load in DAI. You can only read those information cards so many times. But in my case, the SSD basically meant I never read anything in loading screens. Everything was too fast!

Man, I hope that Zen and Vega pay off since it's starting to look like I'm going to be stupid and pay $230 for my next PC case and I'll have to cut costs somewhere else in order to not feel bad. Why am I going to spend $230 on a case? And unless I can get a case roughly the same size that's not obscenely expensive, that or the S4 Mini are my only alternatives. Unless I fold and buy and Node 202/ML08 or something.

Unless I fold and buy and Node 202/ML08 or something. I hope so too. AMD doesn't have to be remarkably better than Intel CPUs or Nvidia GPUs, they just have to offer similar performance at more reasonable prices. All the demos they've shown so far have them slightly outperforming their competitors, but if the cost is about the same, they'll get yet another round of lukewarm reception. At the very least, we can hope they'll force a significant enough pricing shift that splurging on higher-end aesthetic solutions is more reasonable.

Out of curiosity, are you playing ME:A on PC or console? From what I remember seeing of you on BSN, I had the impression you were a console player.

I'm going to be playing it on console to start with, and if I like the game enough, I'll pick it up for PC as well later on down the road. Even though my current system should be able to handle ME:A at 1080p (although probably not Ultra), I'm planning on building a new system sometime around April/May depending on how things go with Ryzen and Vega.

I've always been of the mind that if your pc case isn't big and obnoxious then what are you even doing.
Small cases scare me for heat *shrugs*
Currently using a HAF-XB cube, but I'd like to get my old Cosmos 2 (my first self build) back up with my next build.
Think I'll go Ryzen, but maybe wait another year.

My target was a 6-core Ryzen CPU but the rumours are AMD will ship 4 or 8 core only. Six is my sweet spot. The VEGA is a tad expensive.
Thing is, A Ryzen means the following: buy a mobo + cpu+memory, hoping my existing discreet card can hold me over for ME:A. In any case, I won't buy any hdw until I know the specs.

If they made those smaller, I'd be all over the. But I'm going small form factor for everything now, so they're not even an option. At the very least, I have a friend who has a friend who does glass works, so I could have them make me a custom panel that fits whatever case I settle with to achieve the same effect.

Took this from Battlefield 1 to see how I would fair in ME:A. I think an upgrade isn't needed, but it could come in handy. My biggest concern about VRAM is prolly most likely not going to be a major issue, but it could if the devs for BW don't do well with resources. I saw the VRAM use go all the way up to 3.5 GB, just a shade below what my GPUs max at which is 4 GB VRAM. Here's a FPS benchmark for Battlefield 1 max settings @1440p. Keep in mind that I had GeForce Experience, Fraps and Rivatuner all active at the same time so actual framerates are prolly a bit above this, I'd guess about 5. System: i7 5820K 2X 980s Strixes (Stock) 2X 512 GB Samsung 840 Pros in raid 0 16GB DDR4 RAM [Edit] I had the wrong game benchmarked. BF1 did better than I could have dreamed, honestly. I had to double check to make sure it was at 1440p and the settings maxed for me to believe it.

Frostbite games are well optimized to begin with, and if you can run Inquisition, it's unlikely Andromeda would need anything more than you turning down shadows. And that's not bad, because most people end up having to turn down shadows; shadows are costly.

Witcher 3 is seemingly more graphical intensive than anything we've seen of Andromeda so far. Not to mention, not all engines are created equal and not all games and engines undergo the same amount of optimizations, so it's not a direct parallel. Comparing MEA to Battlefield and Dragon Age makes more sense as they all run on the same engine. What are your PC specs?
