Also, This: Suggests they are already benchmarking the game with a GTX 970 on high graphics settings @1080p res. the community votes on what GPU they decide to bench the game with.

Now this is interesting, didn't see it when I first looked at the page. Might be worth seeing what a dev has to say on twitter. DAI minimum system requirements actual benchmark dont get you hopes up :დ Inquisition was horribly optimized. For comparison, here are some additional Battlefield 1 benchmarks showing massively increased performance (average of an additional 15-20FPS) for older cards at 1080p Ultra. For example, the 7950 Boost averages 52FPS in BF1 vs 36 in DAI.

So, TL;DR version: Mass Effect Andromeda runs better than Dragon Age Inquisition on the same systems?! I have R9 270x GPU, an old i3 3220 CPU and 8GB ram. I am able to run DA:I at around 720p-900p decently well, hope I can run fine ME:A as well.

BF1 is a mess with Nvidia drivers. I can tell you that much. Odd, I have absolutely no issues with framerates in BF1 on my 970. A couple of cards / driver setups experience some sort of DX crashes. The game runs fine for me, too - until it randomly decides to crash.

Not sure about how official those configs are, but DeusEx MD also had GF660 for the 'minimal', and it's struggling even on the higher configs. On the other hand - I've played Dishonored2 on low\medium on my 2gb 650Mx2 SLI, and with the recent patch it had been ~30-40fps (which might not seem like much, but it's a 5yrsold laptop I'm talking about). It's all about optimization & cooperation from Nvidia(&AMD). They say that new DOOM could be possibly started on a Voodoo card (and it hits 60+ on lastgen laptops too)

The game runs fine for me, too - until it randomly decides to crash. If you experiencing often DX crashes it could be sign of larger problem. If your GPU is factory overclocked, more often than not underclocking your card to Nvidia reference specification will help with crashing. I had lot of DX crashes on my Gigabite 660ti back in the day, be after underclock to reference they stopped, but the card died after only 2 years. So i learned my lesson, GPU DX crashes a lot?? RMA that sucker right away!

I don't know much about system specs but would my laptop even run this game? Should I abandon all hope of ever playing it? Don't have a console either (not a fan of controllers) Processor - Intel i5-2450M @ 2.50 GHZ Graphics - GeForce GT 520MX Optimus RAM - 6 GB
All Mass Effect games run fine.

a gtx 670 wont be able to run the game at 30 fps even in 900x600 resolution
a gtx 970 can reach 20-30 fps at medium-high settings
a gtx 980 will be necessary for 60 fps at high-very high settings at 1080
4gb vram minimum, otherwise you'll have 20 fps

Does anyone have actual evidence that these guesses about system specifications are any more than just guesses? All we know is what they are telling us, which is that they are benching the game with a very high end processor and a GTX 970. Based off that they are giving us estimates of what the min requirements should be and giving a rundown of what they think will give X performance. It is, however, very possible that they somehow know the min requirements already.

Not sure if he's referring to just the benchmark portion or the page as a whole, but I wouldn't trust that info just yet.

Far as i know, Andromeda will use the same version of Dice's graphics engine (Frostbite) used on DA:I, so the requirements wont differ too much one from another. Thing is that DA:I was terrible optmized AT LAUCH. After it was patched a couple of times, the performance increased a lot. I can run it with my 970 @1080 all maxed out and it never drops below 60fps even in crowded-open-detailed environments. Star Wars Battlefront also uses the same graphics engine and is very well optimized. BF1 takes advantage of a slightly updated version of Frosbite and is very good optmized as well.
A good 4gb graphics card (or even the 3gb gtx 780) should be enough to sustain Andromeda with 60fps on 1080p and High quality when paired with 8gb ram and anything less than 5yo for processor.
To know what would it take to run it maxed out is a little more tricky, since it depends mainly on the Anti-Alias methods that Bioware will implement on the game... FXAA is light but outdated. MSAA is kinda heavy when is set up @8x and is not that pretty either. TXAA is beautiful but heavy AF. SMAA i think nowadays is the best on the looks/performance relation. But there is a lot of new kinds of AA so will have to wait and see.
But yeah i think the midrange gpus will be able to achieve good results... dont think the game will be very demanding
