What did you do today in ME?

Coming back to the series after playing a bunch of other games for the past few months. I have a bunch of finished ME1 playthroughs waiting for import into ME2. Decided I wanted to play Infiltrator, partly because I want to do something with it later in ME3.

1. Went back into ME1 briefly to try to remember who my Infiltrator was and how I played it.

Julie Shepard:
- Spacer + Ruthless background
- Mostly Paragon
- Wrex died (Ashley shot him)
- Ashley alive, Kaidan dead
- Rachni Queen dead
- Council survived
- Udina the human councillor

With that out of the way, I imported her into ME2.

2. Normandy attacked, Shepard lost. Shepard later recovered by Cerberus. Escaped Cerberus space station with Miranda and Jacob. Talked to the Illusive Man. Went to Freedom's Progress and recovered data implicating the Collectors were behind attacks on human colonies.

3. Got a new Normandy. Met the crew, went to Omega, recruited Zaeed, and then did some sight-seeing before recruiting Mordin. Managed to help cure a plague in the process.

4. Went to the Citadel, recruited Kasumi, bought some stuff, and met with the Council. Reinstated as Spectre.

NEXT UP: Scan planets, recruit Archangel, help Kasumi with a heist.

Good to be back. It looks like I have a backlog of your videos to get through when I can find some time.


Anyway, more Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME2 LE):
1. Last night, scanned planets for resources. While scanning planets:
- Found the Normandy crash site. Recovered some dog tags and planted a memorial.
- Recovered the Hammerhead, found some research data in a volcano, and then recovered a Prothean sphere.

2. Rescued Archangel (Garrus!) from a bunch of mercs on Omega.

3. Went to recruit the Krogan Warlord Okeer, but he died saving his tank-bred Krogan. Leaving the tank on the Normandy for now while until I figure out what I want to do with it. Will probably leave it unopened this playthrough, although that means no store discount and one less Shotgun upgrade.

I had time to go rescue Subject Zero (Jack), but decided to call it quits for tonight.

NEXT UP: Recruit Jack > Horizon > Illium. Then if I have time, some side missions for specific upgrades and more planet scanning.

actually...shooting Conrad in the foot is from Mass Effect 2, in Mass Effect 1 you merely wave it in his face

Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME2 LE):

NOTE: In my last post, I missed mentioning that Julie helped Kasumi with her heist and let her keep the greybox. (This was after recruiting Archangel/Garrus and before Okeer/Grunt.

1. Broke Jack out of prison.

2. Stopped the Collectors from abducting the entire colony of Horizon. Briefly talked to Ashley.

3. Went to Illium. Helped out Gianna Parsini, then talked to Conrad Verner and Liara. Then...

CONTROLLER ISSUES!!!

Batteries died. Put in new batteries. Then the wireless stopped working and it would not restart; no idea why. And the cable I used to use (which was for another controller with a malfunctioning Left Trigger) no longer stays connected properly in the controller so I can no longer use it.

So I was forced to stop playing for the night before I could do more like I wanted.

NEXT UP (if I can get my controller issues sorted because I do not want to play with keyboard and mouse): Finish Illium > play some specific N7 missions to get specific upgrades > recruit Thane (because I want the Viper) > more N7 missions to trigger the Collector Ship mission.

Controller issues magically fixed themselves. So more Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME2 LE):

1. Finished Illium sidequests.

2. Braved the fog and shut down a Geth weather machine.

3. Destroyed a Blood Pack weapon facility.

4. Distracted Nasana's mercenaries so Thane could assassinate her and join the Normandy squad.

5. Killed some more geth and stopped a ship from crashing into a colony.

6. Went to Tuchanka. Had a nice chat with Urdnot Wreav, killed some pyjacks for a store discount, and bought some stuff. (Grunt is staying in the tank so no discount from Fortack). Ratted out Ish to Anto.

7. Survived a husk rush in a mine and destroyed a Reaper indoctrination device.

8. Boarded a Collector Ship, grabbed some data and shotgun training, then escaped before the Collectors got the ship back online.

NEXT UP: More recruiting and loyalty missions. Recruiting Tali and Samara for sure, just not sure in which order. Depends if I want the Tempest SMG or Scimitar shotgun first.

okay, so playing on normal mode is hard. Shepard doesn't need to wait to ME3 to get his arse handed to him. Heavy turrets are harsh. I'm Shepard!! I WIN. NOT get my ass handed to me.

it is so good to hear from you. I've seen the article you mentioned just now and I hope you guys are holding up. I'm sorry that Zhu's Hope has to fight yet again. You are very brave. Please hold on just a bit longer.
Though to be honest, I'm a little worried about your indoctrination. I've seen it in the past, seen what it can do. I trust you do the right thing and separate from the colonists if it really gets worse. If it does, don't hesitate to contact me and I'll see what can be done about it. Maybe we can isolate you until we've made sure the Reapers aren't a threat anymore.
But for now, I'm glad you're still you. Keep fighting, and send my regards to everyone.

it's good to see you're still in the fight, still alive and kicking. I'm glad to hear the turians and krogan are working well together. And I guess none of us saw that alliance coming, but I hope that this will be a new beginning for all of us. This war brought us all closer together, and I am proud of all of us for what we achieved so far. I start to feel like we can actually pull this off.

ever since we started talking properly I learned a lot about what it must have meant for you to live with the genophage, to understand how much the krogan suffered, especially the females. I'm glad I got the chance to get to know you and your past better, and I'm happy to have helped you.
Back on Virmire, you put your trust in me. You were willing to destroy a cure for your people because you listened to me. You have shown me true courage and that the krogan can be more than we all were taught before.
Now it was time I put my trust in you, my friend. I am glad you get this chance again. Glad it's you and Eve leading the krogan into a better future. Stay safe out there. Should trouble arise with anyone opposing you, you know how to find me.

yes, the krogan were and still are a violent race, but only because the genophage made them into what they are today.
Given a chance for a different future, I am sure the krogan can thrive again, turn away from all the violence and be part of galactic society again.

My parents taught me to see things with an open mind, to give people a chance. We never know what might come from it.
I made good friends in the past by talking to them, giving them a second chance. I would never have gotten to know them if I had let any prejudices for them cloud my sight.
I hope you can see that too someday. If we defeat the Reapers, I am positive we can all rebuild what was lost - together.

And you should be proud of Mordin Solus, not ashamed. He saw the way forward. As does Urdnot Wrex. His is not a way of revenge, but of cooperation. In time, I hope you can be convinced of this.

Damn, biotics are still so OP But to be honest I love to plough through some parts of missions, haha.
I was not sure what my team would be after the Citadel coup. I took Javik to Tuchanka so he could kill a Reaper
And I actually wanted to do a Kaidan/Javik run this time, but I think EDI and Liara work so well with this Shepard I might continue with that. Let's see though.

Oh, and I almost forgot. Finished off the ME2 derp video. It was less material than I thought, but I have not recorded everything anyway. Still, ME2 can get VERY funny and buggy, and I'm still a big scrub
