I was attempting to do a what I call a "Bioware canon" Trilogy run, Sheploo soldier, "writer's pet" Liara as love interest. Got through ME1 just fine. Import to ME2, and the perfection that is Yvonne Strahovski...I mean Miranda...is literally staring Shepard in the face after the prologue. My teenage daughter is watching me play. And she has a bit of a Chris Hemsworth crush, (Huge Thor movie fan...she hated the last one though...). Anyway she says to me "Dad, she(Miranda) would look good paired with Chris Hemsworth." I play a bit longer and it doesn't help that Miranda is my favorite LI in the series. As I keep playing I am thinking...my daughter is right...challenge accepted. I go back to the main menu, and import an older save from ME1 where I romanced no one. When I get to character creation, I attempt making a Chris Hemsworth look alike from Thor Ragnarok(My daughter's favorite movie). My daughter helps me until she is somewhat satisfied while complaining about how we can get it close but it is still off a bit. From certain angles it looks like Chris Hemsworth and others not quite, but in the end we are both mostly happy with the result. She also wanted me to change my imported Shepard's name to Chris. Which I ended up doing with a save editor. So Miranda and my daughter derailed my "Bioware canon" run, and I now have a Shepard, whose appearance I like better than Sheploo, romancing my favorite LI, and biotic charging enemies while looking similar to my teenage daughter's crush. I like that story, I had my teenage daughter help me design my last (not current MEA Sara Ryder), she did a good job.

I did not know what game I should play next, so I decided to play some more Mass Effect instead. Decided I wanted to play finish the story of BK Shepard (Vanguard).
1. Booted up the Legendary Edition. 2. Loaded the last save of BK Shepard in ME1 to check the decisions made and renegade/paragon status. Seemed to be about 50/50 Paragon and Renegade. Rachni Queen dead, Wrex alive. 3. Loaded the last save of BK Shepard in ME2 to check the decisions made and renegade/paragon status. Maelon's data destroyed, about half the squad dead. About 50/50 Paragon and Renegade.
4. Imported BK Shepard into ME3.
5. Reapers attacked, left Earth. Hackett redirected the Normandy to Mars. Recovered Liara, Prothean data, and a Cerberus AI from Mars. Talked to the Citadel Council. They redirected Shepard to go to a war summit instead. Went to sleep, had a nightmare. Talked to the Normandy crew. Got into a sparring match with James.
6. Recovered a Prothean from Eden Prime. (I died a lot. I guess I forgot how to Charge-Nova correctly. Blame the frame rate I guess? (even though I have no idea what the frame rate even is)).
7. Recovered the new Turian Primarch for the war summit. No Garrus (he dead).

The saga continues.....play-through derailed part 2: I completed my ME2 run with "Chris" Shepard and Miranda. I was getting set to import ME3, but my son who loves dinosaurs, Godzilla and talking dinosaurs wielding weapons aka Krogan derails that idea. He wants to see me do some missions with Grunt and "Mama Bear" Shepard. It is his nickname for femshep after hearing me make a remark about femshep and Grunt during the Citadel DLC. Instead of continuing "Chris" Shepard's story I fire up ME2 again, and since I enjoyed playing "Chris" as a Vanguard I import a female vanguard ME1 save. I blitz through the first few missions so I can recruit Grunt. Chris Shepard completing ME2 with his favorite two ladies, while color coordinating their outfits: Rory "MamaBear" Shepard instills some discipline with Grunt.

BK Shepard (Vanguard, ME3 LE): 1. Talked the Normandy crew post-Menae.
2. Went to the Citadel. Talked to people, eavesdropped on others. Met Bryson, watched Bryson get shot, figured out where to go next.
3. Scanned the available galaxy.
4. Went to the war summit. Wrex was angry. Went to Sur'Kesh to recover some Krogan females. Wrex stayed angry (something about Shepard destroying Maelon's data). Cerberus attacked. Wrex cracked a smile, but was still angry.
5. Talked to more people.
6. Investigated some missing Krogan scouts. Oh hi Grunt! Found a Reaper-made Rachni Queen. Left the fake queen to die.
7. Padok Wiks has figured out a cure for the genophage and is ready to deploy it.

- Elly only wanted to follow Hackett's orders to prepare the Normandy for the final stretch, but events took a slightly different turn. Well, that seems normal at this point. But it's not every day that you fight your own clone (which of course was another Cerberus experiment). But that actually happened and Elly was not amused about it, but she, Kaidan and Wrex were able to get rid of the clone - that is, she got rid of herself in the end. Her sidekick was arrested in hopes she has some dirt on Cerberus. - After these eventful times, there was finally some real shore leave. There were many many meet-ups, joyful times, smiles and laughter, but also remembering fallen friends. It all ended in a nice and loud party. - Elly, Kaidan and EDI raided the Cerberus HQ and got what they needed, finally. The information on the Catalyst. And in the process, Kai Leng was so nice to show himself as well and Elly killed him. For Thane, for Thessia, and for everyone he ever murdered in cold blood... - Since the Reapers had moved the Citadel to Earth, that's where they headed. And a battle with Reaper ground forces ensued... Somehow, Elly and her team made it. She made it. To the beam, up the Citadel, to the controls, and beyond. She changed the fate of everyone on that day by destroying the Reapers. The geth sadly got fried in the process, and her friend EDI... but for Elly, it was the only way. She couldn't bring herself to change everyone into... she didn't even know. And controlling the Reapers? Nah. This was a mad man's idea, one she didn't like. She would accept the weight of her choice and live with the guilt of sacrificing her allies. But she didn't have to do that alone. Elly recovered from her wounds eventually, Kaidan by her side. She would never forget how their journey began, how his love was one of the things that kept her going in the final stages of the war. But now, they would focus on the future they would have. Settling down in Vancouver maybe? Getting some dogs, or cats. Or both? Marriage? The possibilities seemed vast. Endless. And they both knew they wanted to grow old together, without the sound of gunfire surrounding them... Cloning business Shore Leave fun Cronos Station London calling I beat the clone on the first try this time! I could not remember my first Insanity run where I played Engineer class at all. But I think it might have been very tough back then M. Shields was annoying this time. Tried twice, then didn't want to put up with his shenanigans anymore and switched to easypeasy mode I am almost ready to deploy my next Shepard. It will be my most Renegade run to date I'm still planning some things, like who to kill off in ME2, mahaha!

BK Shepard (Vanguard, ME3 LE): 1. Rescued students from Grissom Academy. Prangley died (because Jack dead). Died a lot in the final fight because I refused to take the mech and I kept screwing up at stupid moments.
2. Took control of a giant cannon on Tuchanka away from Cerberus control, and then used it to destroy a Cerberus cruiser.
3. Rescued civilians from Cerberus on Benning.
4. Grabbed some Reaper tech from a Cerberus Lab on Sanctum.
5. Delivered some packages to people on the Citadel.

Heck if I know. I think I originally wanted to go with "BJ" but then later changed it to BK without actually caring what it would stand for. Anyway, more BK Shepard (Vanguard, ME3 LE): 1. Went to Tuchanka. Shot Padok Wiks to ensure the genophage cure did not work. Hope Wrex never finds out. SPOILER: Wrex finds out (later). 2. Stopped a Cerberus Coup attempt on the Citadel. Javik shot Ashley during a tense standoff. Shepard shot Udina. Kind of wish I had recorded some the post-Citadel dialog with the crew's reaction to Ashley's death. I can always go bac I suppose since I have an earlier save (pre-Shroud though). 3. Citadel stuff + galaxy scanning. 4. Investigated an Ardat-Yakshi Monastery. Detonated a bomb. Samara shot herself to fulfil the Justicar Code so she would not kill her last daughter. Left the daughter alone at the monastery.

I decided to try something I have never done in 1000+ hours of ME after talking with a co-worker who is a fellow ME fan. I brought up how jarring and poorly paced Liara's romance is particularly in ME3 where they didn't change the dialogue in many friendship scenes if you are in a romance with her. My co-worker suggested that the romance works better if you befriend her in ME1 but hold off on starting the romance until ME3. Which got my wheels turning on a new ME trilogy run and, a whole back story for a new femshep. Going to try and RP as Liara is the first time Shepard has been attracted to another "woman" so she slow walks the relationship while dealing with feelings she never considered before. Introducing: Artemis Shepard, Colonist, War hero Soldier with Barrier as bonus power Back story prior to ME1: Artemis Shepard was born on April 11th 2154 on the farming colony of Mindior. She was exposed to element zero twice. First exposure was in utero, when her mother was close to an element zero "spill". The second exposure occurred when she was 15 while helping maintain farm equipment and the "eezo" core lost containment. Survived the slave raid on Mindoir in 2170 due in part to her biotics manifesting and rescue by an Alliance Patrol. Her parents, relatives, and boyfriend(first love) were killed in the attack. She used her inheritance and scholarship funds(for Mindoir survivors) to arrange private biotic training. The Asari Matron that Artemis hired discouraged her from getting a biotic implant and instead focus on developing her abilities naturally. As such Artemis has no telekinetic abilities, however she is able to manifest an incredibly strong personal barrier, and is able to enhance her natural strength using biotics as a form of "tactile telekinesis". At age 18 Artemis applied for the System Alliance Naval Academy. She was quickly accepted due to her biotic potential. Instructors at the academy encouraged Artemis to get a biotic implant, but she chose to forgo the procedure. In 2174 Artemis graduated the Naval Academy as a Second Lieutenant. Shortly after graduation while Artemis was taking leave on the colony of Elysium, it came under attack by slavers. Due to a desperate holding action lead by Artemis, the colony was able to hold off the slave raiders until Alliance forces arrived. The defense of the colony earned her the Star of Terra, promotion to First Lieutenant, and an appointment to the Interplanetary Combatives Training (ICT) program, or "N-school".

Haha, Mike, that clone is an evil abomination I kinda wanted to maybe wait until the weekend to start the next Shepard, but I have no self control, so here we go Meet Noah Shepard - Vanguard, Colonist, Ruthless He's somewhat along the lines of broken mind, broken spirit due to the events on Mindoir, where he lost his entire family - mother, father and two sisters. The trauma of his past led him to being obsessed with finding ways to learn how to grow strong enough to deal with any threats, as he never wanted to feel so helpless again. Due to a peaceful upbringing he was close to his family, especially his two younger sisters, who he loved dearly. He had no chance to save any of them, so in the present he likes to have the upper hand, obliterating any obstacle in his way. He goes to great lengths to achieve this. He wants to help humanity play a bigger role, and he is wary of aliens, thus likes the idea of Cerberus later on when he hears about them. But even though he despises batarians for what they did and doesn't think too highly of aliens in general, he isn't completely anti-alien per se. He just doesn't trust them, so he will get along well with Ashley (who I will also romance for the first time throughout the trilogy). His past made him tough, but also numb. He'll stop at almost nothing if it means to get the job done and does things that he believes are necessary. But he still wants to save innocent lives if the situation allows it. He has been a lone wolf for years, never letting anyone close enough despite several liaisons, but Ashley will be the first person he cares for enough again to let her in. Some first pics Noah will be a Shotgun Vanguard (just like my first, oopsie ), and more of a basic Vanguard this time, leaving a trail of dead bodies with Novaguard in ME3 (I just know I will be the one dying a lot, especially in ME2 ). I actually already played through Eden Prime and landed on the Citadel, but I guess I will do a bit more stuff before I post about it (it's getting quite late here anyway ).

Thinking about doing a course correction in Mass Effect. I kinda want to change her name. I'm also thinking about making her a Soldier with one biotic talent in all three games, making her combat abilities more down to Earth compared to other characters, and possibly raising the stakes.

I'm also thinking about making her a Soldier with one biotic talent in all three games, making her combat abilities more down to Earth compared to other characters, and possibly raising the stakes. I find pairing barrier with immunity(soldier fitness tree) in ME1 turns the soldier into a true tank. Shields getting low activate barrier, taking damage that bypasses shields activate immunity. It also Shepard has leading from the front since he/she can tank the incoming gunfire while "softer" targets like Liara, Kaidan or Tali can work as support by CCing enemies. I just started ME1 with Artemis, but I am already thinking about the next two games. I am debating on incorporating the leveling up aspect into her story. Something like the beacon did more than just giving her visions, it also causes her biotic abilities to flare/increase. And her biotics become even stronger with her "resurrection" to the point where she becomes a vanguard, while using only charge and barrier(bonus power) as her biotic abilities while picking up the assault rifle training. In ME3 I may stay away from Nova because that really does make the game almost to easy.

Artemis - Personal Journal Entry:
I haven't written in this journal in years. It was something I did after the raid on Mindoir when I was 16, and my Alliance provided "grief counselor" suggested the idea to help cope. I honestly thought I had put Mindoir behind me other than using it as motivation to see that I don't let it happen to others. That was certainly the case on Elysium. But when we landed on the farming colony of Eden Prime, the parallels to Mindoir were very evident. The green rolling hills, with farms and the settlement in the distance. My momentary lack of focus and Corporal Jenkin's over excitement cost him his life. Part of me knows the kid was to aggressive in his advance, but if I had been paying closer attention I could have reprimanded him for his lack of sticking close to cover. With the loss of Jenkins and seeing bodies of dead colonists, buildings on fire, and ash filling the air as we approached the settlement, I was brought back to the worst day of my life. The thought of there still being people to save kept me from falling into those dark memories. I managed to help save the colony and a lone Marine, Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams, but it feels like a hollow victory. Saren, a Turian Spectre, was responsible for the attack along with an army of Geth, and managed to escape. Saren went so far as to betray Nihlus, another Turian Spectre who had been assigned by the Citadel Council as my Spectre training officer of all things. I know I can't save everyone, and we did save millions of lives, but still Saren achieved his objective.
Saren was after a Prothean Beacon that was discovered on Eden Prime. It appears Saren was able to access the Beacon, and sabotage it somehow. When LT. Alenko approached the Beacon it activated, I managed to push him away, but I was caught in some type of mass effect field and drawn into the air. I don't remember much after that. According to the LT, and Chief Williams the Beacon exploded, and I was knocked unconscious. I woke up in the Normandy's med bay, and the Beacon imparted me with visions of a war between the Protheans and synthetics...similar to Geth maybe. It doesn't make much sense, it is all a mess in my head.
It seems like the Beacon also affected my biotic abilities. I feel a constant slight pressure just on top of my skin, similar to when channeling a barrier. I am going to try some meditation that Matron Kreia taught me when first learning to master my biotics. Hopefully I can get a handle on it and the visions.

The war is over. The Reapers have been defeated. It's been an absurd era for all of us, but we went and won. Not just to take Earth back, but to avenge everyone that the Catalyst and his dogs slaughtered - like Javik's countrymen. Countrytheans? I already voted that we put a statue of a geth platform next to the beam, fitted a plaque dedicated to the war dead. Speaking of dead, I dedicate this entry not only to all those who were on my shuttle who never made it out of their deployments, or to everyone I got to know who stood their ground like Englishmen and died in London (Susan Thorton, you tried so hard to hold Commander Shepard's flank by yourself... - I'll bury you where your brother said to.), but specifically to the AI Tay Halera, along with geth platforms Quiet, beepbopboop, Pybro, and Rain. I even ended up joining Hammer myself once everyone was deployed or shot down. I know I gave Commander shit in the past for his ridiculous name, but it's really his Mum's fault. Hannah, if you're listening... you're terrible for naming your son that. Or maybe the bullying he inevitably experienced was formative and saved us all. I heard Admiral Zorah's recordings of his battle with the Destroyer. To think he was able to give a speech to end a three-century long war after doing that. Diana interviewed her, and what she said was a very diplomat-speak way of saying "Imagine you've been a xenophile since you were a teenager, then a hot alien saves your entire species and wins them back their home planet that they were exiled from while his species was still using steam locomotion. Of course I took my suit off, bosh'tet." Not that I understand the appeal of quarians. Give me a woman I can have kids with any day - sorry, Salian'Tes. Not that I intend on giving Commander Shepard any kind of shit today. He's on a ventilator coughing up blood after being shot by Harbinger, limping onto the Citadel, firing the Crucible, then being buried in rubble from the Crucible's armour plating. He had me at getting shot by a fucking Reaper. I imagine that if he can never walk or fire a gun ever again, krogan will be lining up to be his bodyguards for the rest of his life. I know I would. Speaking of Shepard, I asked him a few questions off-the-record, and there was one thing he wanted me to tell everyone still stranded on Earth. "This is called a Victory Ring. EDI - the Normandy's AI - gave it to me not long before this battle. Neither of us knew that she would not survive the Crucible's activation. Don't let Tali see it if I'm unconscious when she comes back. I want to give it to her." Everything else he said, he said in confidence. I will not share it. We all know what he did to Kai Leng. Overwhelming firepower. No fair fight - no need to risk losing. I think I had to see half of the friends I made doing shuttle runs die today. Some of them died before even landing - poor Urdnot Krech was so excited to see the home planet of the legendary Commander Shepard that his Battlemaster Grunt spoke so highly of, and he was picked off before he landed. Nobody's come out of this without scars, but Grunt says that I made Krech proud by plugging the gap he left. I don't know, I was just high as a kite on my own adrenaline the whole time - didn't really think about it. Just followed orders and shot things, threw a few frags here and there, prayed to the Lord whenever I had a moment to think. "It's okay. Humans fight better scared" as I told Wrex. I think there's a sect springing up that says that Commander Shepard is the Second Coming, but I don't think so. I think he's just the best the human species has to offer - not divine. A saint, for sure. How fitting that a war that was won in no small part by a man who spread the superior aspects of human culture around the galaxy was won in the capital city of the kingdom that founded those "superior aspects", and spread them around the Earth. Is it any wonder what following the Heavenly Father's Word gets you? I think Grunt knows more about the Battle of Bamber Ridge and the British War on Slavery than most humans do - he certainly knew more than I did. Maybe the stories of humans wearing red diving into ice-cold water to save slaves reminds him of Commander. And then he pulled out his Garr action figure along with an old Hulk Hogan and had them stomp on a dead Brute. As in a Jiralhane from those early 21st century sci-fi games. A very big, philosophical, well-read child. If he could read English, I'd lend him my Bible. An actual one made of paper, natch. I had Ashley Williams sign it - she's actually very sweet despite her reputation among some elcor. Sorry if you following my extranet posts expected my flippant, humorous rundowns. I need to pay my respects to the dead and pray for their departed souls. Oh Lord, may you accept the fallen into your Kingdom - may you honour the geth people for their selfless sacrifice, forgive the Protheans and all of us our sins, and may we all reunite one day. Amen. This is David Price, Extranet Shitlord turned shuttle pilot turned infantryman, signing off.

The end of the PV mod playthrough. Let's take a moment to remember the good things about the mod With the PV mod, I chose to have the romance scene before going to Earth instead of having it before Cronos. Shepard had a dream. More like a nightmare. War assets The end battle Overall the mod is great. I will do another playthrough with it. It might be a ME3 default playthrough as male Shepard. I will also do a trilogy run with nearly everyone dead to see the difference with the mod and the dream mod.

How do you feel about this?
A Soldier in ME1, with Barrier for the bonus talent, making her even more of a tank, and raising the stakes, and she is to wear heavy Onyx Armor for the whole game, to be lore friendly. I was thinking about doing this to make Shep's biotic talent more passive, and then in ME2 and ME3, her talent is more aggressive.
