I realize very long hair might be too much to ask for (as clipping seems to be something they want to avoid at all cost), but I think it is reasonable to ask for more variety. I would be happy if we actually got a couple of more braids, updos and classy short hairstyles.

I also like the one below as well, since it's a slight variation on the one you posted! Maybe not have such a long length, maybe shorten it a bit, just so it drapes over her shoulder or can hang down her back just a little. Though depending on how the armor and weapons go, clipping might still be an issue.

<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> Bio is pushing the facial animations development with FB3. I'm speculating that they will finally give us extreme options in hair styles (good styles) + multi colour options as well. And, like someone up thread said, our CC creation should have hair as good as the default Ryder/Team hair textures. No bloody bald pates. Sadly, i think the "grounded with reality" comment Walters made in an article might carry over to the CC too. So no crazy Saints Row CC for us! No body sliders or junk/boob sliders or clown make-up. Just the boring usual seen in DAI with the buzzed hair options modded to fit military styling. I hope there are some more basic options, even something like mohawks, to allow for your squad to be ham and crazy, or more civilian looking, but that's just me pipe dreaming. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> I'm staying optimistic on this one. My gut tells me it is so... LOL

So i'm playing through DA2 now, paying close attention to the hair and dat shit be flowin'. Not a lot, but if the hair's long – like for example, Lady Elegant's or Leandra/Aveline's – it'll move. This makes me thinkin' we need the "shampoo special" special effects option in MEA so, if checked, it looks like there's a air circulation wherever the PC goes.

For me it's more about the quality, like modeling, texturing, shading, animation, etc. that I'm looking for. When it comes to hairstyles, I could go for military buzzcuts, short hair, or long hair, just so long as the hair has the same quality as the head meshes and not have that "plastic helmet" effect. However I didn't particularly like how Bioware just recycled the men's hairstyles for the women, while keeping the male-pattern balding and sideburns, in DAI.

This really isn't a pressing matter for me. But i feel we can get better hair physics and animations. The thing is that a majority of developers will tell you that creating hairstyles and physics is amazingly difficult to craft. I'm no programmer so i don't know how much resources or processing it takes to animate or to create certain textures, but i think for the most part they will go with the basic generic hairstyles for the said gender/race of the character. As long as it looks decent.
To be honest since your character that you create didn't really look as strong as the main character that starred in the game itself, i always ended up using the default Shepard in the game. Now if the game has a quality character creation mode, i may opt out and try it.

People keep asking for long hair, but I would kill just for some decent shoulder-length styles and updos.

I love the idea of Ryder being able to have a long, coiled-up braid. Those can look very pretty.
I just hope if they do that, they don't make it look like she has a widow's peak like they did in DA:I with the braids. Seriously, I looked at that haircut and it felt like half my character's head was bald, the hair was pulled back that sharply.

I would really have liked Thane's jacket! The first time I met Traynor we had the same hairstyle... Oh hi! Nice to meet you Sam and hey, we seem to be hairstyle twins. How nice! Not. Luckily for me, only random NPCs shared my Shepard's hairstyle, no main characters. I realize very long hair might be too much to ask for (as clipping seems to be something they want to avoid at all cost), but I think it is reasonable to ask for more variety. I would be happy if we actually got a couple of more braids, updos and classy short hairstyles. Wait, you're kidding, right? Seriously no offense intended at all Bunny, but I could never take the excuse about hair clipping seriously when DA:I and all Bioware games have such crazy amounts of clipping already. They can't possibly care that much when weapons clip through bodies in important scenes, armour clips through bodies, tankards clip through hands, sword handles in important cutscenes clip through hands, etc. Basically anything involving someone holding something, and more. While clipping is annoying, I'll take some clipping hair if I like it. Unless Andromeda has basically no clipping, I won't take that excuse seriously there either. Anyway, as many of you may remember, I have lots (and lots and lots) of thoughts about the hair in DA:I and how it needs to be better in the future, and I was going to post some of them here, but alas I am in a 48-hour ban (for asking for clarification about site rules ) and one cannot simply access their own profile while banned for some reason. So maybe later!

I'm hoping the MODDING community can help us with this. I've just looked at the latest Battlefield trailer from Gamescon... Look awesome. Oddly enough, the last 5 sec of the video (in-game?) shows a bald guy about to skewer a woman on the ground with her hair covered in a hood.
Battlefield 1 is DICE's showcase, yet not hair is shown.... my optimism is wavering...

I always found stange the lack of variety and good styles in short hair in BioWare games. is, like, quite easy to find some ispiration, without having to go full anime style. Both for female and male characters. I think I have seen only in DA2 a decent pixie style.

I guess I don't get the fascination with hair styles for characters, but give me one or two options for long hair I am sure I will be fine.
Hell, let's go further and allow players to adjust hair length if at all possible.

Hell, let's go further and allow players to adjust hair length if at all possible. It's pretty simple, really. People want to make their characters look good - not to mention as good as the supporting cast - and they want to have a good number of options to choose from for different characters. You don't want all your characters to have the same style, it's odd. I'm not sure how easy it would be to actively adjust length (although it would be great) but something I've said they should do for a long time is allow you to mirror a selected hair. Basically, to make it parted the other way or similar. It shouldn't actually be very difficult to let us do, and Bioware actually sometimes does it themselves with NPCs.

It would be interesting if, besides the slider, you could select/alter the character's hair using a hand cursor. So to move the part, you'd click on the opposite side, along the top of the head. Could possible even find some easter egg styles by selecting parts of the head in the right order.

I guess I don't get the fascination with hair styles for characters, but give me one or two options for long hair I am sure I will be fine. Hell, let's go further and allow players to adjust hair length if at all possible. Blasphemy! Hair is the most important aspect in creating a character! That hair length idea does seem pretty good, though.
