I'm happy with them, hair was my only concern and I was happy until I saw the rest of the cc lol. There's still a lot to look forward to.

Yeah I just watched a video showing all of the hair options for Male Ryders.
Complete shit!
Honestly think these male options are just as bad as the DAI ones.
I'm going to have to do the the same thing i did with DAI - rely on modders to provide me with some decent hairstyles. But that wil take a while to come out.
The facial hair is a complete joke aswell.
I REAAALLLLYY want this game to be amazing and I think it will be good. But the male hair options and the animations are really bugging me.

I'm happy that the ponytail looks aren't stupid like in DA:I. The loose hair around the face looked really out of place. Other than that, happy that I can pick more than one hair style like in the OT.
For males, I've been horrible with the CC to create the male I like so I go with default.

My favourite kind of thread. Seriously hoping they don't pull a DAI and group the hair in one androgynous group, too much male pattern baldness and side burns in the feminine hairstyles for me to be happy. I don't even need more options, I just don't want sideburns. I still have nightmares about it.

are you all serious defending the no physics in hair due to "customisation"? nobody asked for top of the line animations (hair and face) but really basic ones and we can t even get that. This is a AAA game. Not AA like technomancer

This is a AAA game. Not AA like technomancer Here's what irks me... Saints Row 3 & Saints Row 4 had fully customizable characters... with dozens of hairstyles.. and almost all of them were animated (where it made sense). Ponytails swished around in a believable manner, long hair shifted around the shoulders as characters turned their heads in cutscenes.. it was just basic havok physics engine stuff that has been around for 10+ years, but the dev team took the time to do it better than any Bioware game as ever done... and this is from a game that came out in 2011.. Yet no mass effect game to date nor DAI could even implement this rudimentary hair physics (nor match the sheer amount of hairstyles available in the saints row 3 & 4 games). Then again, no game ever made in history has ever made a CC half as good as SR3 / SR4... you could customize every aspect basically of your character.. body size, body shape, head sizes, shape... it was mind boggingly detailed to a near overwhelming degree (not a complaint)... and that was a game with a far smaller budget than what Bioware gets to work with on their games :/ The fact that most of the hair in SR3 looks better / more believable than most of the hairstyles in Andromeda is outright infuriating.

But it really feels like a small concern now compared to how limited options we have to even customize the face of our character.

The hair disappointed me too. They don't even have buns anymore like in the trilogy. I was at least hoping for basics like buns or updos, a simple braid and maybe a similar hairstyle to Cora with shaved hair...I was also hoping for bangs, like proper bangs not just side swept. At the moment I have very very long dark hair with short bangs so my dream hairstyle was basically This. Simple and elegant and uncomplicated. ❤ Was that too much to ask? Anyway, we have what we have so complaining won't make it any better I guess.

Ehh I'm fine with the options shown. I'm reminded a lot of complaints about Qunari hair in DA:I. Bioware doesn't have exactly a mastery of hair physics, people asking for longer hair and beards are ignoring that. They wouldn't work and would likely be glitchy as heck.

What!? No bun!? This is an outrage! Seriously, though I understand why Bioware doesn't do long hair. What with clipping issues and the fact that often it just looks like an unmoving blob on top of a character's head unless the devs spend a ridiculous amount of time and resources that could probably be spent elsewhere, making it look good. Edit: I am a little miffed though that Scott gets a fro, but Sara doesn't. This is spot on. Hair is incredibly hard to get right in video games. It requires a lot of effort and time, which is something BioWare doesn't really have a lot of when creating vast open world games. Games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Uncharted 4 are bad examples because those are linear experiences that focus on very few characters for extreme detail. The Witcher 3 is also another poor example because everyone is forced to play as Geralt, not to mention CDPR partnered with Nvidia in order to simulate the hair physics in TW3, which is incredibly demanding on your PC. At some point BioWare may tackle this hurdle, but hair is just one of those things that's an absolute nightmare for development. It's far too complex and oftentimes it never looks good or realistic. With how many options BioWare needs to provide, it's just easier to stick with shorter hair. Not to mention, the player will have a helmet on half the game anyway. I see a lot of people wanting natural hair that flows and flips and all, but think of the wasted GPU power needed for hair physics. Seriously its not easy to do at all. See article below. kotaku.com/5986952/thank-amd-for-the-best-video-game-hair-ever/

Hairs look better then DAI, but the options for male characters are too limited. Facial hairs options are too limited as well.

I'm just happy that there's actual black skin tones so I don't have to make a character vaguely similar to me look like he's a white dude who rolled around in the aftermath of a forest fire. And that afro is gonna get some use. Totally feel you on this but black characters once again get screwed in the hairstyle area. I mean I know people complained about the buzzcuts but give me something to work with at least. Even hairstyles with waves or undercuts would have worked for me. Or just bald... let that sink in that there is no bald option. No bald hair is dumb, but my head is buzzed, so at the very least, I can make me.

Bioware had one job and they didn't listen. they fucked up hair! Not surprised but let's complain. Learned from their mistakes my ass. Bio's competitors are whooping their ass in terms of customization.

Hair option seem ok, not great but ok. Hair texture.......looks terrible, plastic and shiny yeah I agree that there isn't as many options as peop;le weer hoping for but I think we need to give Biowaer credit in that the despite the limitatoins the optoins we do have I think are better than DAI. Whereas in DAI I could only see myself using 2 or 3 options in MEA I think I can see myself using most of them at least the female options anyway. Not sure about the male ones yet as I haven't given my Scott's much thought as I was going to play as Sara first.

Facial hair is sub-par,in fact it looks like while Ryder was in cryosleep someone opened his pod and gave him a dirty sanchez, i mean come on the textures are flat and do not blend/merge with the main hairdo.

It was a tiny itsy bit better than the previous ones but they still didn't listen to their fans and that sucks! I had really hoped that they'd learned something from all the criticism they received after DAI.
