Ughh I wish my Ryder could have Nadine-like hair in game, that kind of hairstyle is exactly what I'm imagining for her. well you never know it could be an optio to have somethin like that. I've hav easked the devs as to whether thereare any shoulderlength type styles but as of yet I haven't had any response. |

Yeah, if you think you're going to get Tomb Raider-esque hair in many games, you're fooling yourself. First, only Lara (as in, one character you cannot customize) herself ever had that, and second it's an absurd ressource hog that tanked the framerate of anyone who doesn't have top of the line hardware. It's not going to get more popular until the average PC (let alone consoles) can handle that type of hair on several actors, which is a ways off I'd imagine.
Apart from the lack of physics on the ponytail, hair so far in Andromeda seems decent. Certainly better than Inquisition's, and yes I know that's a low bar.

Playing through the game right now and it runs very smoothly on my mid tier PC (i5 3570+ gtx970), as opposed to mad stutters and slowdowns i've experienced a while ago. It's all about them optimizations. As for consoles PS4 uses toned down pure-hair tech to a GREAT effect and runs just like any other AAA game. |

I just saw the character creation for Mass Effect Andromeda I notice there aren't any long hair  When can we have long hair options in Bioware games? I have long hair in real life and more variety is always good for a RPG. Please don't say it is unrealistic to have long hair in space when we have NASA astronaut Karen Nyberg in space. Were the first hairstyles in each gender default Scott/Sara hairstyles?
I'm not super impressed with this CC. It's fine. But kind of meh. I DO like that we can completely customize the twin. It's like two, two, two CC's in one!
One positive is having some actual black hairstyles/textures. My Sara's gonna look SO good, y'all!

I only saw first four hairstyles in that video, and it wasn't all of the hairstyles in the game. They're may be other hairstyles that are longer. Also I will say that having long hair loose while going into battle is not practical. It would get in your face (especially in wind and rain) and most likely get you killed.

That is correct. Everyone praises Witcher 3 but the way hair moved and kept clipping through everything was a major distraction in game. Hair was the most magical thing about witchers, it had a life of it's own entirely separate from the witcher. |

I personally do not care about hair clipping but that is just my personal preference and bias towards long hair.
Realism/Immersion in Science Fiction
Realism to some extend in a fictional game is great and all, but if the player can look like a clown (I don't hate clowns) as shown in this video
why not have some long hairstyles as well (long ponytails please)? For those who hate clipping or clowns, you have the option to not create your character with said hairstyles or customization.
P.S. I will still love Bioware. Played all of their games since Baldur's Gate and loved it.

I'm not too bothered, tbh.
I've tried the mods for DAI that add long hair, and those playthroughs didn't last long before a Black Emporium visit. Something about having a massive, unmoving clump of clip on my head kinda threw me off.
Would have liked some shoulder-length stuff for dudes, though.

As I understand the main problem is when you are designing stuff for a character creator and you are designing hairstyles long hair is like a hundred times more demanding to design and code than the rest -its like the Everest among some hills. You can definitely do it and many have done it but the benefit of having long hair bears no relation to the cost and effort involved in implementing it. |
