I really don't understand why TW3 fanboys insist on coming to a Bioware game forum, and boring us all to death with never ending Witcher crap. If you like the game, then great go praise it on a TW3 forum. They do this with all videogames. Even ones that aren't even close to being in the same genre. They're like the internet videogame fanboy equivalent of those people that go door to door selling religion. "Have you heard of our dear lord and savior Geraldo del Riviero?" Thats some dedication. that is.

Only if you conflate "failing hard" with "I didn't personally like it" as you seem to with DAI, OP.
DAI was a commercial success, whether it failed your personal standards is obviously a matter of opinion. I predict the same will be said of ME:A.

W3 still hasn't been discounted enough for me to seriously consider purchasing yet. The GOTY edition was 40% off but that still left it at $30 which is too high, when it's 60% off, ie $20, then I'll probably buy it. Mainly for Triss boobs. I AM interested in Cyberpunk 2077 though. Hopefully that has really awesome story and gameplay. Yeah and then out of nowhere comes this amazing Cyberpunk MMO...ah. This is what happens when I can't sleep...I start imagining ridiculous things.
Fun thread though. I am hoping ME& isn't terrible. No doubt it's going to sell well, however the more relevant question is Will it be a fun game to play? There isn't much point speculating on that though, we really don't know until March 21.

Indeed they'd never have done a game of the year edition if it wasn't successful I didn' tget tthe GOTY bu that was only because I already bought everything that was there already before it was even announced

This poll needs a "no idea" option. I personally know to little of the squad mates and have seen too little gameplay to even make a vague guess at this point.
Ironically, there seem to be some DAI mechanics that might work better with MEA than with DAI itself. Like establishing outposts - it makes more sense to me if they are fired down from orbit (like the space marine base buildings in Dawn of War) than just popping into existence.
EDIT: I'm a huge Witcher fanboy, but jeez, at some point you just gotta stop...

It's the DAI marketing campaign all over again That is an insult to the DAI marketing campaign. They actually revealed a lot about the game, plot, and characters before release. Maybe too much. Half of what they revealed wasn't even in the game, thus, I surmise is why the ME team is holding off on telling too much.

The Pax demo which was shown very early in the development cycle had some concepts and mechanics that didn't make to the final game, and that was about it. Every game has those things.

About DAI's marketing campaign tactics. My issue with it was that they majorly marketed the pre alpha build while the beta (more important) received little coverage by contrast. Right now MEA is starting to look like the inverse of that.

I think you're confusing TW3 with DAI. As long as MEA doesn't take anything from the latter, and more from the former. We're in for a sweet quality space ride. Ah this is why I love W3 fanatics. You say something they disagree with and they go "Oh no you're just confused." W3 has a lot of flaws and most of them can be traced back to the open world system. CDPR should have kept the hub based system from W2 and W1. It's annoying how they went from using a great system to an inferior one. Fanatics is people who constantly try to come off as edgelords while providing not a single amount of actual constructive criticism. You're just saying stuff out of your ass without any substance. You're one those people who think repeated NPCs means a terrible open world. And again, you babble about things you know nothing about. Get off your high horse.

I think you're confusing TW3 with DAI. As long as MEA doesn't take anything from the latter, and more from the former. We're in for a sweet quality space ride. Based on what I have seen and read from BioWare: - it will use some DAI mechanics,
- but will also have paid attention to TW3.
Which one? Crafting. Not DAI exclusive. War table? ME3 done that before. The way things were executed in DAI is what really brings the game down. I have the feeling the story turned out rather short to they had to fill the game with stuff for us to put hours into without really going in-depth with them. If I could solely play the main missions in the get-go, it would have been a much more enjoyable experience, it already is, but you get what I mean. More missions like the one we lose to Cory, would have been spectacular.

The game won't fail because it's a shooter. Make a game where you can shoot aliens in the face and people will buy it, no matter how cr*ppy. AS for the marketing, DAI's "Fires Above" trailer told us more about DAI a year before release than what we know about MEA less than three months before it drops.

The Pax demo which was shown very early in the development cycle had some concepts and mechanics that didn't make to the final game, and that was about it. Every game has those things. yeah but a lot of people complained about it because they thought it would be. Didn't bother me that it was cut out as I didn't really follow DAI's development that closely so I never saw that and it never bothered me anyway as I know plans can change whilst in development but others did. That's likely why Bioware and EA are being more cautious this time as to what to reveal and when.

Well, there was criticism on Bioware's marketing for DAI revealing too much, though so far they seemed to have gone the opposite direction, but there's plently of time for showing more. The briefing should be out soon, I think. It'll focus on the nomad and the tempest. That's pretty much what I think is reason for them being more silence this time around That, or they're taking a page from Bethesda, who doesn't even announce the existence of a game in development until they're ready to do a full reveal - and their games sell like crazy.

TW3 was undoubtedly a very good looking game. Shame the majority of it's maps were all shine and no substance. TW3 had a lot more substance than DA:I. Compare Oxenfurt, Beauclair, and Novigrad to Val Royeux and Skyhold. It's not even close.

Edit: For crying out loud, we have entire threads focused on the gameplay trailer trying to figure out what the gameplay is going to be like! Less than three months before release! By then we were already getting an idea on teh new perk system for Fallout 4!

It's going to fail so badly that by the end of March there will be worldwide riots in the streets. People breaking into stores taking copies of the game and burning them. It will be the #1 news story. The governments of the world will be issuing executive orders to have Bioware never make a Mass Effect game that takes place in Andromeda again or risk heavy fines and being shutdown. The game will do well. I'm curious how many people will be buying the game just for the multiplayer

That's already two more companions and one more NPC advisor than we've seen in MEA thus far.
