Personal taste. I find English not very expressive as a language, so that can be part of it. I always go with Italian subs whenever I can, expecially with movie and tv series, I try the English version only if I really, really like something. usually, I'm quite disappointed by the original, with very few exceptions. Fair enough, it might be that. I'm the opposite, I generally found the Italian dub subpar. I have a long list of actors that have me always thank whoever thought about dubbing because in the original have the expressiveness of a bucket. Empty.

Again, I'm the opposite on this though it's not only the quality of the VA that I find subpar. It's also how they translate the script/dialogues that makes me cringe.

While not having your language available, kinda sucks, it doesn't affect me, even if German weren't supported as I don't use it anyway (and get annoyed when games are not available in English for me...looking at you Steam)
I started playing games in English with Mass Effect and it helped me improve by leaps. It's gotten to the point where I aced english tests in school without effort. (shameless bragging)

Pretty sure most of the points I'm gonna make have already been mentioned, but the thread is too long to go through, so here goes... I'm mostly liking what I've seen so far, but I've got some concerns about technical issues. I mean I'm going to buy the game on a playstation and they've haven't exactly wowed me before... back with DA II (on ps3) there was a bug with the pc's battle cries (making the character effectively mute in combat), and they failed even to acknowledge it, let alone do anything about it. EVER. More on point, since DA:I and ME:A are using the same engine: there were some pretty major issues with sound - party banters not triggering, music dieng off and combat effects lagging way behind. Plus overall combat seemed to lack, uh, weight I guess you could say. Hopefully the crafting isn't as excessive and horribly overpowered (before dlc) as it was in DA:I. From the looks of it, we're gonna have dozens of guns so I seriously don't wanna go grinding for upgrades/resources for each weapon and their mods. And if there's gonna be looting and limited inventory space - have the loot be meaningful (no 'angaran rebel chest piece XI' of grey quality on every other enemy) and consistent (no milky way pee shooters in a remnant vault that's been sealed forever). And hopefully the semi-open worlds will have better overarching storylines and sidemissions. Let's end this on a positive note - I know I'm gonna buy the game at some point, since I trust that the characters/VAs will be great, the story good and the soundtrack amazing, but it just depends on the technical/mechanical matters whether I'll buy this withing the first month or a goty version somewhere down the line

If the sound-streaming issues are in DA:I too, then I'm out. There's already a bunch of stuff that just doesn't look good enough. I'm seriously considering whether it might be worse than DA:I at this point.

What i hope is they managed to fix that when NPCs are talking with each other i go one step further and suddenly an another pair of NPCs start talking and interrupting the previous banter with theirs. It was really annoying in DAI.

Context: I'm feeling sad over the recent Andromeda footage and wonder if I'll be a BioWare fan at all when I'm done with that game, so I typed "what happened to BioWare" on Youtube and rewatched this brilliant opinion-piece by MrBTongue.
...and now i wanna play NV to the finish!

Uhh you lost me, I dont see any problem with so called heat.....All I did wasd try to make peace not continue a pointless fight over a throw away comment. What the hell, I'll walk you through it. I gotta wait for these meringues to finish anyway, and the thread could use a bump. Making peace is OK. Claiming that you're having to make peace because the folks on the other side are "fragile" is kinda douchebaggy: Douchebaggy's OK if that's how you want to roll; we've got regulars on this board making a career out of douchebaggery. But you don't get to complain about other people reacting badly to your posts and simultaneously claim that you're a fan of blunt speech. Pick one and go with it. Wow, seems to me you are taking the douche road here....well Ill go, its not looking worth the effort.

It might help you avoid some disappointment.

The combat videos in the two weeks prior looked good. This footage didn't. That was a major fuck up on their part for them to choose that mission and have it be demo'd by a guy who sucks at the game. It's too bad. They were on a roll with the marketing until this happened. I still think the game looks like a great time, but they definitely dropped the ball here.

The changes to gameplay and especially combat have... not enthused me, to say the least.
In fact, I'm honestly more interested in playing MP than I am ever touching the SP now and I can't believe I just typed that out.

The game will play practically the same way between the two modes. Or do you mean for the story/exploration part?

The game will play practically the same way between the two modes. Or do you mean for the story/exploration part? SP and MP function differently in terms of how the gameplay is carried out, despite being the same gameplay. The SP doesn't strike me as Mass Effect single player, and looks like you're soloing MP. You don't get to boss your squaddies around the same way which in turn makes the AI even dumber than it was. I really don't like that the combat encounters seem to be designed around "switch from vanguard to engineer to infiltrator", largely because you don't have squad synergy or gap filling with your AI pals powers anymore. If the open world resembles much of DAI then I'm just going to say "fuck it" to exploring. I don't like the changes to the control scheme, which they did similar changes to in DAI which absolutely broke it on PC. Removing the tactical pause is just another :/ in a list of :/'s for me. The extended look we've seen is pretty not-great to say the least. I know it was edited, but it seems some of the issues with what was edited makes it not-great, so then why release it. That whole mission looks... not great. Scanning a bunch of rocks from your wrist very slowly. The annoying orb AI. Press A to open door. Press A to hack drone to open door. None of it, besides the squad AI changes, is really game breaking to me but it adds up to a lot of :/ when I should be :] In MP, its just you and three others blowing stuff up for 20 minute rounds. Mixing and matching your abilities to work with your friend's loadouts and getting loot. Being a biotic bomb squad of doom, or a big dumb soldier with big guns, or run around debuffing and playing support for a round. Its almost like they tried to take MP into the SP.

Speaking on gameplay, the person that played it did a bad job in showing the squad commands. We do know we can at least move them around the battlefield, so he should've put Peebee in cover. And you can make combos with them, although I have concerns and want to see a live gameplay/extended combat session showcasing it.
On the other issues, fair enough.

One other thing to add to my post above,
I feel like in DAI and this game so far there has been so much focus on who you can put your space dick inside of or who is down to diddle. In DAI they were like "YEAH YOU GET TITTIES AND WE ANIMATED IRON BULLS DICK! #rideTHEbull" and in this one they're like "ENJOY YOUR SPACE TITTIES AND YOU CAN FUCK NEW ALIENS #fuckyeah"
I get that the romances are part of the Bioware experience, but I feel like there is nearly as much emphasis on your bedroom pals as there has been on going to a whole new galaxy and exploring a whole new galaxy and fighting a whole galaxy's worth of new enemies.

While I do think they 'talk' (I'd say it's more like teasing) on twitter on romances nearly as much as other things, it's mostly because they're doing it for teasing, without actually saying much. Expecially for the story parts, they don't seem to want to reveal much this time. In terms of actual info from twitter, they replied more about gameplay mechanics then romances.

Even for DAI, with all the tweets about the romance, they were a pretty small part of the game.

I do wonder why you would buy the game on release though, given your concerns. Isn't it better to wait for reviews from people you can trust, either online or in real life? It might help you avoid some disappointment. I really want to wait honestly but there are two factors: 1 is that people will be gushing and I will be gushing too over the game having its honeymoon time and I'll not have to avoid spoilers either. 2 is that the games' faults such as the bad animations are just that. bad animations, not glitches and the rest of the shortcomings are due to bad design or execution, not glitches.
