I don't think we know anything about that game besides what year it takes place in. Thought so. Given CDPR's history, I would be cautious in believing the game will have those options. In general they seem to offer less character freedom than Bioware and have characters that are more set in stone.

Man, that voice does not match that character at all. Almost as bad a match as that gay Hutt from Clone Wars It's a female Krogan.

In general they seem to offer less character freedom than Bioware and have characters that are more set in stone. There's pro and cons in both methods. I'm not sure CDPR is willing to trade off the pro of a set character unless they manage to find a good compromise. It'll be interesting if they manage to do it.

Compare that with Urdnot Bakara/Eve, the voice just doesn't fit. Close your eyes and Eve sound plausibly like an alien female. Close your eyes and the MEA female Krogan sounds like my old 10th grade gym teacher.

But IRL you expect certain people to have certain voices. Say you're walking down the street and some massive, steroid jacked, 6 foot something, 250 pounds plus dude walks up to you, he opens his mouth, and a "Minnie Mouse on helium" voice comes out. That kind of contrast is what I hear when I hear that female Krogan speak. It just doesn't fit the body it's coming from. Just my opinion. YMMV.

I'm certainly not going to tell you you're wrong, but I don't think it's really an accurate comparison. The female Krogan in Andromeda sounds sufficiently like a Krogan to me, rather than a Salarian, Turian, etc. Though, she sounds very old, imho.

I found her voice to not really fit her as well, to be honest. When I first heard her speak I did a double-take. I expected something with a deeper register or more weathered. The voice is just too light or 'airy'. Completely subjective, of course.

I don't think we know anything about that game besides what year it takes place in. Thought so. Given CDPR's history, I would be cautious in believing the game will have those options. I do remember reading a quote from someone at CDPR saying that customisation is a huge focus of the game. It was a general statement and they didn't specify what could be customised, though. Also, the fact that it's based on a tabletop RPG would go hand-in-hand with there being a lot of focus on character customisation. The original creator of the tabletop RPG is even working on the game with CDPR. I think the lack of customisation in the Witcher series has more to do with the lore and established characters from the novels, and is not necessarily a sign that CDPR are against having character customisation, so I'm optimistic about it.

We need more than two data points before we start making pronouncements.

Yeah, that's true, there are definitely clear advantages to having set characters. Time will tell, but I have a feeling that Cyberpunk 2077 will be a change in direction for them.

I did too my friend...i did too. I've held off on playing Horizon. If reviews on Monday aren't good, I'll probably pick up Horizon instead. At this point I'm just hoping reviews will confirm the game picks up and gets better later on. You should get Horizon. It's pretty ballin'.

Can you provide link, please? This is what did it for me. The entire panel spent 20 minutes TRASHING the game and had trouble finding one positive thing to say about it. Not good.

Ughh... all my fears from the early clips I've seen have been reinforced by the 'preview reviews', articles, and now user reviews here.
* Facial animations suck. Hard.
* Writing is weak.
* Gimped CC --- I never made a worthwhile CC in the original trilogy, so I was always default Sheploo. Had some minor hope that this new gen would be different. But nope.
* No manual saves in priority missions. WTF? This IS an exploration game, yes?
I feel like the first two bulletpoints are deal-breakers themselves, and the hits just keep on comin' after that. Not a happy camper right now... my pre-order remains, but only because I'm getting a small discount and this is an ME title. Otherwise I'd be cancelling.

I was so hype until the CC reveal. Now Im hype for cyberpunk 2077 I am sure their character creator will be good. Did they confirm that game will have either a CC or gender choice? Early Polish interviews had them saying it will have gender selection and character appearence customization, but the game's so far from release that nothing should be taken for granted.

Maybe it's just my moderate expectations, but none of this is really irking me that much. My mindset going into Andromeda for the past three months has been "I'll have my fun with it and then be done." :/
I'm kinda excited to play the new Zelda game, honestly. I haven't really been talking about it because this is a BioWare forum, but it looks really fun. Not perfect, like everyone is saying it is, but truthfully I'm not even a fan of the series. It just looks genuinely fun. Lots of flexibility, and it seems to encourage experimentation. I like that in a game. I think it saved Metal Gear Solid V for me, even though the story wasn't as good as the previous games. Being able to approach a situation in whatever way your little mind can think of is always extremely enticing.
I mean, I know most games say you can do that now, like "choose your path" or some shit, but really they just have a few classes that fundamentally play the same way, or they're stealth games that lean away from the stealth so that you can run and gun everything, but I think Breath of the Wild, and to a much lesser extent, MGSV really allow you to find fun creative ways to solve problems. MGSV is the only game I've ever played where you can spend hours strapping C4 to guards and trying to use balloons to shoot them into a helicopter and detonate the damn things. That shit is endlessly entertaining.
Anyway, I never expect much from a Zelda game in terms of story, or even really gameplay considering how samey all the games are, but every single thing I've seen from Breath of the Wild looks entertaining. I can already see lots of little things that will get on my nerves when I finally get a Switch, but just being able to sit down with a game and pour time into it and be consistently having an adventure sounds like a damn good time.
Maybe I'm getting older, and just don't have as much time for a bunch of bullshit, but all the story focused games seem to be getting more and more bland and samey. Good for a run through, but that's about it. Doesn't help that they're all so fucking long, and the gameplay is usually total ass. Even the ones that have really strong writing feel the need to spread that writing out between dozens of hours of dumb bland bullshit.
I kinda just wanna have fun.
