I'll be running it at 1080p/60fps on ultra but on my new KS8000 55" 4K HDR TV, the upscaling is nigh on perfect on them, so it'll look mad good.
I'm running 3770K@4ghz/G1Gaming980/16/SSD and could probably squeeze out 4K at a capped 30fps depending on optimization...but I think I'd rather do the 1080/60 route.
Either way, me and my couch, pizza and controller are ready to rumble!

I recently got a 4k monitor.
Though given my rig is a bit outdated these days, I doubt if I'll be able to maintain a solid 60 FPS.

Also to the original post, you won't need two 1080's or even one 1080 Ti to run this game at 4K, BioWare said that the specs are fairly similar to Inquisition and Star Wars Battlefront, I believe that means the requirements are close enough but not completely equal to Battlefield 1 requirements, meaning a 1070 will do the job and keep game easily above 60 FPS if you have the right monitor and the game is well optmized. Yes, a single 1080 or even a 1070 may be able to run the game at 4k, in in order to run it at 4k AND 60fps, 1080sli or 1080ti may be needed.

If tests from tweakers.net are to be believed, Titan X (Pascal) averages 58.2fps at 4K in DA:I on ultras without AA. So 1080 Ti may be enough if ME:A performance is similar to DA:I, if 1080 Ti comes out around the same time ME:A comes out or soon after, and 1080 Ti performance is close to Titan X Pascal. That's a lot of ifs and guesswork for a product that hasn't been officially announced by Nvidia, it certainly isn't a sure bet. 1080s in SLI should be enough but SLI support is so shoddy these days I can't recommend it. My old PC is long overdue for a new replacement but AMD is very late to the party, both with ryzen processors and vega videocards. I think my best move should be to wait until AMD finally shows their offerings and see where that leaves the Intel/Nvidia competition. On the upside, by that time Bioware will probably have some DLCs and patches out for better playing experience.

Just bought i7 6700k and gtx 1070 with a 4k monitor for MEA. Hope it can run 60fps in Ultra settings. Even 1080 will not gave u 60 fps in 4K on ultra using frostbite 3. Maybe SLI of 1070...

On the upside, by that time Bioware will probably have some DLCs and patches out for better playing experience. I'm in the same line of thinking. I haven't really done much with my PC since I built it in the autumn of 2012, so even though it still runs all the games I care about at over 90fps on max settings at 1080p, it's long overdue for an upgrade as it struggles to maintain 45-50 in modern titles on the same settings. Just have to wait and see if I want to piecemeal it together over the next few months, or save up for a whole new system when Ryzen+Vega hits the market. Even if AMD can't outperform Nvidia or Intel, they may be able to undercut the price enough to force those two to stop overcharging for their hardware.

I'll upgrade to 4K on my next graphics card purchase, but I currently have a 980ti that's only 4 months old, so I'll be waiting a few years before that. I don't need to be on the cutting edge when it costs an arm and a leg today, but only an arm tomorrow.

My dual 680s get near those Titan Pascal numbers... You know, turns out it's really difficult to find benchmarks for an older game with a newer videocard at 4K xD The fact Nvidia decided to call this Pascal generation top card Titan X same as previous Maxwell generation which was also called Titan X doesn't help! Closest thing I could find was here 1080 getting 45FPS in DA:I at 4K. Since Titan X is very approximately 20-30% faster, those numbers kind of check out. DA:I isn't that greatly optimized, are you sure you are running your dual 680s at 4K res?

I wish. I'd probably have to drop well over $2k AUD to set that up. New card(s), new mobo, new PSU, more ram and of course, a new monitor.
I've just forked out for an RX 470 and also an aftermarket cooler so I can OC my i5-3570k. As long as I can play 1080p on high-ultra at decent frames then I will be happy!

Edit: your more recent link though has accurate numbers, especially if you compare the 1440p numbers.

DAI (Frostbite) is actually very optimized. Sure it is, that's why the fastest single card at that time - 980, (980ti came out 6 months after DA:I release) was rocking cinematic 25FPS source2 years and 11 patches later, still no single card exists that can run it at 4k/60FPS, and not because it looks amazing. Very optimized my arse. If you want to see amazing visuals with good optimization, check out Vanishing of Ethan Carter

I had such plans. Now moving to a new apartment, so all the money is going towards that Also was kinda planning on 1080ti being introduced by now... That's unfortunately not the case. So now I'll probably be playing it at 1080p.

Andromeda is Nvidia backed I'm pretty sure..... so I'm thinking the optimisation for it could be even better than DA:I..(wishful thinking by me, obviously lol). I'm happy to dial a few settings down to get true 4K resolution with HDR at locked 30fps for sure: AA/Shadows to medium hopefully would do the trick...hard to say till proper PC specs are out though.

Just trying to set up reasonable expectations for people in this thread All console versions will be capped at 30FPS. PS4 Pro will run at 1800p upscaled, no info for Xbox Scorpio of course since it's not out but I am guessing below 4K native also. Let's be real here, no way a console with a total cost lower than 4K-capable video card alone can put out 4K, even at below ultra settings. Meanwhile PC will have 4K/60FPS but only on absolute top configs. 1080 Ti as I posted above may not be enough. Two 1080s in SLI should be enough but not recommended, many new games don't support SLI day one, some never even add it later at all. Otherwise the wait for next gen Vega/Volta/Pascal refresh cards, unfortunately.

I'm pretty happy with 2.5K gaming...and honestly MEA doesn't look detailed or spectacular enough to warrant spending all the additional coinage to upgrade to 4K. Just my opinion for whatever the hell it's worth.

All good points. Plus, let us not forget that the game size increases at higher resolutions. I can't imagine digitally re-downloading the game in case of console lockup as in DA:I. I would have a hard time downloading 40+Gb game... over several days at least.
Personally I will wait until the effects of the 0-Day patch are in before I make a decision.

2 years and 11 patches later, still no single card exists that can run it at 4k/60FPS, and not because it looks amazing. Very optimized my arse. If you want to see amazing visuals with good optimization, check out Vanishing of Ethan Carter Hmmm. Is that really true? Dont get me wrong, I understand little to nothing about all this technical stuff, but I'm playing Inquisition atm in 4K, running at 60fps. And dont even have a gtx1080. My rig is i7 6700k, gtx 1070, 16GB RAM and 4K monitor. All my visual options ingame are on ULTRA, 4k resolution. I did the console command to check fps (also added the command line to Origin to lock cutscenes at 60fps), and my fps is steady at 60, both in cutscenes as well as in heavy combat situations (lots of mobs and spells flying around). So, I ask, am I completely oblivious to what 4k/60fps is, or are you exagerating when you say no card exists that can do that???

Since I don't own a Pascal card, Titan X Pascal is the only one that comes remotely close to good framerate in 4K in latest AAA games and I'm not giving Nvidia 1200$ for one video card, then I can only post benchmarks off other gaming sites. Finally found one which has benched DA:I with reasonable amount of newer cards (no Pascal titan, the one in pictures is the older Maxwell) source30FPS with no AA or AF 20FPS with AA and AF What kind of magic 1070 would pull 60FPS I don't know. Extreme overclockings with liquid nitrogen? Even then unlikely.

Just upgraded my rig to broadwell 6800k CPU, 16gb of ddr4 on 3200mhz, pcie Samsung pro pcie ssd, only thing I'm missing is the damn 1080ti. If that won't release on time, I'll just get that titan x... Ugh

I think Scorpio will run at full 4K, it has plenty of power (6tf) and huge memory bandwith (around 350gb/s). PC players always forget to turn down settings when they declare "even a Titan X can bareally run 4K!!!". You can get a lot of fps that way, without losing a lot of fidelity. Plus unlike on PC, on console 30fps is considered playable. I believe even a Radeon 480 is capable of close to 30fps at 4K when fiddling with settings.
