I'm really thinking of doing this, but I'll like your opinions.
Isn't the game much more fun playing it for the first time with all the story DLC's?

You can always play it again with all DLC's/patches etc, with different gender to make it a little different game each time

I think it's better to play before all the DLC comes out. That way, once you beat the game, you'll still have something to look forward to coming out.

One real benefit of waiting is that you can get the base game at a discount. (Not to mention, getting all the patches that would allow you to run the program more reliably.) If you think you CAN wait, then by all means, do so.

It may be philosophically better to wait. But for me? Not going to happen.

If your only gonna play it for one playthrough then yes. But if your doing multiple playthroughs then playing the game before all the dlc comes out is fine. Also the real plus with waiting (in some games)is having all the patches. But I will be pre ordering it since I have no patience

That's a valid strategy. In fact, I do this with a lot of games because if I don't I never end up playing the DLC. I just have little incentive to get back into a game that I completed months or years ago just for a little piece of extra content.
That said, I don't apply that logic to Mass Effect, because I love the franchise so much. I'll be playing at launch and, provided I enjoy the game, will play the DLC as it comes out.

It's definitely better to wait for all the DLC to come out. You get to play the game in it's entirety and you can usually get everything for a lot cheaper. Also, by then you'll have more reviews to go on if you're skeptical about the game's quality. ... Will I be doing this? HELL NO I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME YESTERDAY. So I will be pre-ordering so I can play it at release. But if you feel like you can wait, by all means. You do however risk having the plot spoiled for you, if that's a concern, unless you're really careful.

But that would mean waiting months for playing the actual game. A worthy goal, to be sure, but I'm not sure I could handle it.

If your main interest is in the SP campaign & you have a backlog of good stuff to do for a couple of years, & you like playing game when a plethora of mods and walkthroughs are available, logically it is worth it to wait till you can pick up a bundle with the DLCs etc.
Thing is though, at least on the PC they did not even release MET with all the DLCs package, just made some of the DLCs free - that you can DL any time, really.
Based on the absolutely abysmal track record that the MET PC version in respect to the DLC availability, packaging and pricing, there is no guarantee that you will get a fair tradeoff of a better priced and packaged game vs playing it on Day 1.
Unless I see BioWARE repackaging MET DLCs into one convenient and cheap bundle prior to Andromeda release, I am buying base ME:A game, and no DLCs. MP and vanilla base campaign should be plenty fun for the price. And forget the DLCs.
The biggest advantage of waiting if it is just like MET, will be less bugs & more walkthroughs.

Its up to you
Shortly after trespasser dlc was released for DAI, a game of the year edition was released for $59.99. Had a person bought everything separately, it would cost $125. That's big savings. Of course the person has to wait until that happens. I bought the DAI game of the year edition for $40. Don't know if MEA will have a game of the year edition.

It's up to each person to decide.
Personally if I like the game enough that I'm buying the DLC, then it's highly likely that I've played through it multiple times and would enjoy another playthrough where I do a fresh run with all the DLC.

I think it's better to play before all the DLC comes out. That way, once you beat the game, you'll still have something to look forward to coming out. Agreed I'll be buying and playing the game many times before and after the DLC's come out for it so I*m not that worried I just want to enjoy it. Besides if enough of us started waiting till the DLC's came out or until a game of the year kind of pack was available Biowaer might not end up making any. They'd only make them if they were likely to sell and make money. They'd need to know that people are buying and supporting their products before they make them.

I would do that if I could, but I do not in any way have the patience. Going to have to go release day for this one unless I see something that truly worries me before then.

This is actually a hard question for me because Andromeda is looking to be 100ish hours long, which makes replays a *massive* commitment. The reality of that for DAI is that by the time DLC came out I was long ago burned out on it by 100 hour long replays and I have still only completed each DLC once with 1 character. In past Bioware games, I would replay the games and DLC with multiple characters.
This problem will hopefully be solved by Andromeda having substantially more depth in its 100 hours than DAI's "go collect shards/find landmarks/close rifts" filler whatnot, but I'm really not holding my breath.
The reality is that I am weak-willed and will play it on day 1 no matter what so I don't know what the point of this speculation is.

yeah, naw.... I'll pay the extra $$ to play it straight away and get the DLC's later. I'm way too excited to wait a year or so to get everything on DLC on discount.

I found that I enjoyed ME3 a lot more than others because I waited for all the DLC. It wasn't on purpose mind you. I was just busy IRL.
I'm debating whether to do the same for MEA. I mean I do have a huge backlog of games to go through.
Then again, I bought DAI on release and I played it again when the DLC came out so it wasn't a big deal.

It may be philosophically better to wait. But for me? Not going to happen. This... Usually takes about a full year for most games to go through their entire DLC cycle? It's hard enough waiting for March, I couldn't do another year while everyone else is playing it... and talking about it. Just not possible.

You can always play it again with all DLC's/patches etc, with different gender to make it a little different game each time Exactly this. I plan on taking my time with my first playthrough, vanilla with no DLCs. When DLCs come out, I will play this same character. Once all the DLCs are out, then I will go back and play with a 2nd character straight through with all new patches, DLCs and such.

It's hard enough waiting for March, I couldn't do another year while everyone else is playing it... and talking about it. Just not possible. About that I think yes as I think if I remember rightly Trespasser came out about the following September. I think after DAI was released the previous November.Usually the story based DLC's come out at about 3 month intervals I think more or less. I'd say the first bit of DLC we'll get for Andromeda will be in the summer probably June/July the latter ones we'll likely get towards the latter end of the year any time between Sept/November or early next year. Of course this depends on what Bioware has in mind and what they plan on releasing We might get some extra weapon and outfit type ones in between as well like say Spoils of the Qunari/Avvar kind of thing or something like that as well and a few extra off duty outfits for our wardrobe. But they can be dropped at anytime. We just have to keep an eye out for them.

I start playing games pretty much right away. But, the odd thing is, that when I am ready to start my canon playthroughs of various things all the DLC are out anyways. Which has always been... a bit weird how that tends to work out. Though on the flip side sometimes it still takes a while for me to get to my canon anyways. Like my last playthrough of DA I was probably my most 'canon'.
