I found Pricsilla to be irritating to be honest. Her song is really good though. I didn't even like the song that much tbh. The songs in the Dragon Age Franchise (Leliana's in Origins and the tavern songs in Inquisition) are much better IMO.

Okay. So Dandelion covered his tracks on the customer books. I was really wiggling there because I thought I'd managed to help kill Geralt's best friend. Would be about right for me and this game... But Dandelion is smarter than I thought. I like the voiced overview every time I'm logging in. I like that Roach always goes to find food when I'm not riding him. Hungry bugger I like all the changing scenes. Like, Geralt has been in a towel twice and a fancy outfit, etc. It's like...living... to see him in various states of undress. Roach is female

Okay. Pretty annoyed. The whole game, asking the white text has been unlimited and safe. Now, I go in to talk to menge a, & I ask a white text question about treasure and it screws the whole thing up. Triss was tortured for nothing.

It was a "spoiler!--- not Spoiler" joke. Silly sarcasm?
Seriously thinking about a reload on Triss tortured for nothing mistake I made. There's "I didn't know" sadness...and then there is what happened, which is just poor game communication.

That is a hard sequence to get right, but Ideally you need to find out about Dandelion and where Sigi's treasure is. Which means listening to Triss' torture a bit longer.

I had no problem to listening to the torture. Triss insisted on the method of infiltration. I agreed. Menge had JUST said that he trusted me enough to do business----Then I accidentally broke the agreement by thinking I could safely ask about the Treasure because it was white text. If it'd been yellow, I would have thought carefully. Since the was white I clicked away with no thought

No spoilers, but wall of text. Witches often use the Law of Surprise deal, as it is said to be Destiny in what you get as a result. In the witchers case, if you get a child, then that child was destined to become a witcher. In Witcher 1, you are often asked about whether you believe in destiny, and it is up to the player to decide if Geralt does or not. With that I will go back to the first time Geralt returns to Cintra after the deal with Duny. Geralt sees the young children playing in the palace courtyard and asks Mousesack which child it is. Mousesack says that Queen Calanthe has forbid him from telling Geralt which child is Ciri, as she doesn't intend to let Geralt take Ciri and wants to make it hard as possible for him. He also tells him that she wanted to hire him to kill the witcher, but then without explanation rescinded the request. He confides in him that his allegiance to Skellige, and their close ties to Cintra meant he was honour bound to at least attempt this had she not changed her mind. (Mind that Mousesack had been friends with Geralt since Geralt was a young man.) Geralt went to see the Queen and had a long conversation about the Law of Surprise. But he assured her he would not take Pavetta & Duny's son, as he didn't believe in destiny. (At this stage Geralt didn't realise the child was a girl. He naturally assumed that if the child was destined to be a witcher, it would be a boy.) He also told her that in spite of what Mousesack had told her, Geralt himself was not a Child Surprise, but that his mother was a sorceress who had abandoned him to the witchers. So in the game it is up to you to decide if Geralt believes in Destiny, but in the books he clearly states he doesn't. Moving foward to the first time Geralt actually meets Ciri.
King Venzlav of Brugge (A vassel King to King Foltest) was a good and fair man. He didn't like the way Humans had treated the Dryads and was trying to broker better relations with them. But sending a Human messenger into Brokilon would be a death sentence. The King had heard that Geralt had had dealings with Queen Eithné, and so he tasked him to take his message to her. Heading into the forest, Geralt came upon the body of a boy, clearly from a noble family and no more than 15 years old, with a single arrow through his skull. Practice of the Dryads was you got one warning shot, if you didn't retreat, you never got another. Geralt picked up the pace, hoping to find the rest of the party and convince them to turn back. He only came across more bodies, then his witcher senses heard the breathing of someone wounded hiding in the bushes. To his surprise, it was Baron Freixenet of Hamm, Governor of Verden, someone Geralt liked and knew well as he had lifted a curse from him years earlier. Though badly injured he told Geralt, don't worry about me, find the Princess! Suddenly they are surrounded by Dryads and Geralt drops his weapons. He manages to convince them he is there with a message for Eithné, the only reason he is not dead already is that they know who the white haired witcher is, and they assign Braenn to him to be his guide. He is pushed on his way and not allowed to speak further with Freixenet. Braenn his guide was a Human girl, as when Humans ventured into the forest, young girls would be spared and raised among the Dryads to boost their dwindling numbers. A short distance on they come upon a giant centipede about to kill a Halfling. Between Geralts silver sword and Braenn's arrows the beast was soon dispatched. Although it's intended lunch was no Halfling, but a young Human girl, no more than 10 years old. It was in fact the Princess Cirilla of Cintra herself. As they walked on Ciri and Geralt got to know one another. It seems Ciri's grandmother Calanthe had sent Cirilla to meet with a perspective suitor, Prince Kistrin, son of King Ervyll of Verden. However, deciding he was fat and ugly, and had bad breath, Ciri had run away. Finally the trio arrive at Duén Canell, the heart of Brokilon, and the home of Queen Eithné. Geralt is heartened to see Baron Freixenet not only still alive, but having his wounds tended to. However, this being Brokilon, it is unlikely Ciri will ever be allowed to leave. So now as well as delivering the message, Geralt must talk to Eithné about Ciri's fate. The Queen's hatred for Humans is strong indeed, (not surprising given what they have done to her people) Possibly liking what she read in the note, she ultimately, allows Ciri to choose her own fate, and Ciri chooses the witcher. The Queen also decides to spare Freixenet on the basis that he is a friend of Geralt's and that he had no intention of hunting dryads when he trespassed into the forest. After all, as dryads are all females, they need males to make new dryads, so it seems that the large man will become a stud. (not the worst fate, and after serving as a stud for some time, Freixenet eventually marries Braenn and they have many children.) Back on route to Brugge with Eithnés' reply , the witcher and his young companion are surrounded by what seem to be a group of Verden soldiers. One of the group explains that what they have come upon is the scene of a dryad ambush of a merchant caravan, but Geralt quickly notices that the evidence around him does not support the claims being made by the "soldiers" and a fight ensues. Ciri manages to hide in a tree but the witcher is hopelessly outnumbered. Fortunately Ciri's guardian had sensed she was in danger and the Druid Mousesack appeared with a group of Dryads to save the day. The new party of three then continue on the road together as Geralt and Mousesack catch up with each other's news. Then much to Ciri's disgust, the witcher leaves her in the care of her "uncle" Mousesack and continues on his way.
If your still reading, I want to go over something I touched on briefly earlier because it shows that while Geralt doesn't believe in Destiny, Ciri certainly does. Geralt and Roach had come upon a large merchant's cart, it's wheel lodged through the rotten planks of a bridge. The area around strewn with Human remains. He gets off his horse and could hear someone breathing under the cover of the cart. He told the man to come out as he meant him no harm. After a short pause, the merchant Yurga pulled back the covers and climbed down and told Geralt the situation. Geralt explains that the cart is too big for the two of them and asks Yurga if he was traveling alone. He said he had two servants but they had run off an abandoned him at the sight of the remains. Geralt advises him to leave the cart and get to safety before whatever did that returns. Yurga says he cannot, the cart represents more than a years income to him and he has a wife and family to provide for. He begs Geralt, saying he'll give him anything he wants. The magic words that no witcher can refuse, Geralt invokes the "Law of Surprise" He tells the merchant to get back under the covers and stay quiet, then prepares for battle. While Geralt is victorious, he is gravely wounded and collapses after the fight. Having observed the battle from a safe distance, Yurga's servants return and help him free the cart and load Geralt onto the back. Yurga is a good man and goes off to seek a healer for Geralt. Geralt drifts in and out of consciousness, he dreams of his last meeting with Yennefer at the Elven festival of Belleteyn. (Yen is 1/4 Elven) Belleteyn is both Yennefers and Ciri's birthday. Geralt wakes up to find himself being treated by the sorceress and healer, Visenna. He had always wondered if he would ever cross paths with the woman who gave him up to the witchers. He had thought about her from time to time over the years contemplating what he would tell to her, what question he would ask should they ever meet. Now that the meeting has happened, he's too tired and weak and plans to look her in the eyes and ask his question the next day. Visenna places her hand on his forehead telling Geralt to rest stating he won't want that anymore when he awakes. When she finally says a goodbye, Geralt tries to resist her soothing activity and prevent her from disappearing again, but fails. As they approach Yurga's home in Riverdale, Yurga an honest man says to Geralt I feel I owe you a proper reward. So let me tell you that my wife and I are past child bearing age if you were hoping for a surprise child, but we do have two strong sons and I would be happy to have one of then train as a witcher. Grateful that the man took care of his wounds when others would have left him to die, Geralt refused the offer. Yurga's wife Złotolitka came running up to meet them, delighted to see her husband safe, but apprehensive about telling him she had taken on another mouth to feed. She said Surprise! And tells him she had taken in a young ashen haired orphan. Ciri! Geralt and Ciri run towards each other, she jumps into his arms and they embrace as father and daughter. Ciri says, “It's just like they predicted, Geralt! Like they predicted... I'm your destiny? Say it! I'm your destiny?” In reply Geralt says, “You're more than that, Ciri. More than that.”
Not to put a dampener on the happy moment, but Yurga and his whole family would later be murdered by Rience in his search for Ciri.

So, a couple things about this quest I forgot to mention. Felt like it was a bit unbelievable that the guards would just let Geralt walk out with Triss as a threat. Also, Triss being honestly selfless was nice. First good opinion I've had all game.
So, replayed. crap, it's an either or choice huh? E burned the papers. But Triss is pretty bad ass with her vengeance.

Not to derail your thread any more than I already have, but I'm just going through witcher 2 checking some facts. I interrupted Philippa Eilhart and her "assistant" to hear what Cynthia thought of the sorceress' And this conversation: Geralt: Do any of you know where I might find an immortelle? Sheldon Scaggs: Do pigs have tight asses. Zoltan Chivay: I don't know Scaggs, do they? Sheldon Scaggs: It just a saying. Yarpin Zigrin: Well your the only one using it. Since I've got this far, I'll keep going till I get to the Philippa\Saskia Lesbomancy bit.

I even went out for my way to have another Barber visit. Loose hair and clean shaven. Then Triss went "wow! You went all out." Or something. Haha. Because I even bought the Skellige pants a d fine shoes. Wondered level of finery you have to wear to get that comment or f I went over kill.
The conversation with Triss was kinda... Familiar affection. A history. Voice acting and delivery superb if even I picked up on that. Glad to go to a ball with her.
