I'm really not feeling the Triss romance... Culmination scene had it's cute moments Because they botched it. Triss, among other things, was fallout from massive content cuts and new, inexperienced writers. It was all like "tehee!" And then she was a bummer and then goodbye. I personally got more out of my last PT where Geralt acknowledged their connection by asking her to stay and her choosing to leave. Very adult, very cool. Very pining glances here and there going forward. This... This just makes me want to romance Yenn again.

Oooooooo
I'd forgotten why I'd gone forward with the assassination of Radovid in prior game.
Because Roche wanted it to happen and his compass always did seem to run north so long as squirrels weren't involved
Roche, yer my bro. let's do this.

I couldn't. He killed innocents. But then my canon TW2 file is a dead Letho.
I let Letho walk (was only pursuing him to clear my name and had by that time) but wasn't so forgiving of Cat guy. Being a political pawn is a much lesser crime imo than butchering an entire village just because a few of them tried to cheat you.
Ehmyr is the real assassin of kings - too bad we can't kill him in the end, but messing up his plans re: Ciri was pretty satisfying.
I always let Cat Guy live, they tried to cheat him and then tried to ambush and kill him and Geralt has sympathy for anyone who is attacked with a pitchfork

You can tell they were patching the narrative together with duct tape at that point. The best written romance in the whole game is in the DLC. I won't spoil it but I'd love to hear your opinion when you get there. There's a bit of irony to it.

As for the irony you're referring to... ...the first thing that comes to mind is the implication that Shani's more into Vlodimir than she is into Geralt, and that all her talk about their not working out stems from her just not being as crazy about our witcher as the sorceresses are.

I think you're thinking of a different Cat Witcher. I'm talking about the undead Witcher in the cave while finding Cat Gear. The way I understood the journal entries from the mage that performed these experiments, at the point you meet the poor creature it's probably more or less a demon-possessed corpse. If there's anything there left of the original Witcher it would be mercy to grant him death. (there are some fucked up things in this game, but for some reason those journals stuck with me...) Ya, you're either finishing off an undead thing or finally granting him mercy. The Tragedy that is the Witcher Trade is woven throughout, but these side missions where you go looking for Witcher stuff always seems to...tell you the story of how a School was wiped out, or a Witcher murdered, or even just a Witcher that died. Alone. And now, modernly, some are hunted. And then later at KAer Morhen, Daddy Witcher dies and there was talk of them abandoning KAer Morhen. Because I guess none of them have the heart to round up 50 boys so that 35 of them can die so they can make 5-15 new Witchers.

Dandelion plan on Temple Isle was really bad Okay, why his plan was especially bad, even for him. They Escape upwards. On a Mountain Island. Upwards means cliffs at best, being in the center surrounded at worst. what the fudge was that game plan, they should have escaped down to a coast, gone swimming, or blasted across the bridge off the Isle.

Other mission I wanted to mention was, Witcher Wannabe. I wanted to snatch that medallion off his neck so hard and really considered leaving him to the mob. Eh. my murder knife boner wasn't very erect so in the end he lived. I actually liked the outcome. He's working with the Elderman for a year, so if he did get the girly pregnant, they have teh time to get that figured out after all.

I think Witchers are seen as ugly weapons of war that are no longer needed. Keep in mind Sapkowski was influenced by both world wars and it shows in his writing.

I'm in Skellige at Level 21
Last game I was annoyed that Geralt auto dialogue with Yenn the "you're beautiful" because I wasn't super into her yet.
This game I'm a bit put out because I'm trying to Play a Geralt in love with Triss and then he says that. Gah. Even the non flirt lines sound like flirt lines.
Taking a break for now. First thing I'll do when I boot up again is find Lambert. Left my bro Witcher hanging a long while on his revenge plot because I couldn't let myself go to another country across the sea without things being as done as I could leave them. Plus I just never want to go back to Novigrad.
Due to fast Traveling, I got to skip them murdering non humans. Sure it'll get me at some point

Plus I just never want to go back to Novigrad. Why? I think it's one of the better cities in an RPG to date All the people going "oof" as I go through them. The horse can't do more than canter. REspawning Gangs I've killed 6 times already with women shrieking in my ear to make sure I, the player, know the gang has respawned. Not enough differentation between houses so I have to look up maps online to find Triss' house if there isn't a quest tagging her. More people to call me freak, more Eternal Fire Priests with their kneeling followers getting in my way, more Witch Hunters I can't murder. The inconsistency of theft in general and theft in front of the guard making me have to jump into the river or flee for my life via Battle Jumps like an idiot. Forgetable non soothing background music. Great job being realistic and all that, but it's not a relaxing place to be. I go to missions intermittently that take me back into the countryside and actually sigh in relief. Guess I'm not a city gal in life or as Geralt.

Game implication is that Geralt has to get ready for party. So I get ready for party "correctly", as per Yenn, this time, remembering her biting remarks the first game.
She calls me Dashing Geralt calls her Dazzling
I cringe. Him actively romantically flirting actually makes me feel dishonest and Cheating on Triss. Unlike the prostitutes and Kiera etc, this is emotional flirtation not just a passing mortal whimsy

Truth be told i don't remember much of this, i was usually kinda combative about her attitude ingame. Hmm, maybe my mind is playing tricks. Skellige drives me crazy sometimes. Why there are so many damn barrels in the sea!? And since i don't like letting a huge amount of question marks on the map i usually end up rowing a boat all over the islands.

It feels like Triss was a bit of an after-thought. Which I find odd because Novigrad comes before Skellige. They made the third act before the 2nd?

They made the third act before the 2nd? I think it’s more that they planned out the Yennefer romance before the Triss one. Clearly they meant for Yen to be the love interest, and the only reasons they added Triss is that she was a recurrent “companion” in both previous games and they had already forced her on players in TW2, so it would be kind of a dick move to forced her out now. Honestly, I’m still sore about that whole “thou must romance Triss” from the second game, and don’t feel too bad that they bungled her in TW3. Never particularly cared for the character; she was always written inconsistently and was a bizarre choice for Geralt’s sorceress sidekick coming from the books.

And after finishing the quest Geralt is finally free of that influence.

And after finishing the quest Geralt is finally free of that influence. Interesting idea. That the Djinn wish is forcing him to act toward her differently than is natural for him. So he'll be super inclined to end the wish as well. Last time I did that quest, I was super overpowered. Is there a way to get it show up faster?
