Claymore sounds a bit weird with the full reload sound. I always love the sound of a nicely timed Claymore reload cancel.

This discussion is academic imo Instead of arguing here, on BSN, why don't you all create team Claymore and team Wraith and settle this once and for all. Pick the teams of 6 players and do 3 plat matches (2 Claymores and 2 Wraiths - one match and two different players on each battle) with the same kit, equpiment. And that should be a better prove which weapon is better or worse.

I'll admit that I wasn't a fan of the High lord the first time I used it but it was the sound that pulled me in. That and the hole it leaves on the walls, sweet baby jesus, that's one glorious shotgun! I mean it's like buying one of those high speed hybrid electric cars versus an old school gasoline chuggin, engine roaring motherfucker. Sure these new cars look amazing, have the performance to match and are more efficient. But they don't always sound or feel as beautiful as those old school ones.

I love the Claymore and the sound is just awesome, but lately I've put the Wraith on basically any kit (except for my Sniper) because overall it's just a more versatile weapon. I was never really fond of it for a long time, mainly because of the delay between shots I think. But ever since I started playing again a few months ago I got used to it and it's just an awesome weapon for pretty much EVERY kit in the game. And it weighs basically nothing...

Now that I just listened to both weapons with a delay of only a few seconds, I realize that, not only the Wraith is better than the Claymore, but it also SOUNDS BETTER. Thanks Al !

May be I am just a scrub but I do kill faster, way faster with claymore than the wraith. Not speaking this time as claymore fanboy, although I am one. If situations (less weight) I would have preferred Wraith, I have hard time to choose it over the almighty Talon. With Talon I can slap CSMG with literally no change in cool down. My melee Valkyrie needs wraith though. But with that setup, I hardly shoot. Crusader though? It can challenge the high lord.

I am the only one who never ever attempted a platinum solo. To think of it, I actually never started a platinum lobby or searched for Platinum lobbies. But that is mostly because I am a scrub. Even in my gold solos I don't get killstreaks.

To me, nothing can beat the sound of ME2 Widow and Claymore. They both have a sci-fi feel to them and they both have a bite, a weight behind them.
As for the tin can opener - it does way too much damage for its weight and it's murder on the ears. I use it only on the Novaguard sometimes, for cooldown reasons. It's one of the weapons that got overcorrected (like the Hurricane), putting aside such obvious miscarriages like the Krysae (once upon a time), Reegar, Venom and Acolyte.

I also prefer the sound of the Claymore. As for my kits, I have to admit I use both, the wraith doing the job pretty well and being far lighter, but the claymore landing headshots more consistently for me. Because of the cross pattern of the pellets probably. As a rule, I put a wraith if i need a shotgun, and a claymore if i need a sniper gun.

That won't work, unless the skills of the 4 players are even. Well I think it WOULD work. I'm sure there are many "pro" players here who can handle it. You could pick a leader or two leaders of both team with theoretically highest skill. Then those leader would choose the rest of their teams. Of course there's no two the same persons in the world, it's obvious. But it would be a challenge and fun at the same time. It would be better than arguing here dammit! PS. I'm out of this coz I'm scrub.

Claymore is a bad ass shotgun all the way around. Just from the perspective of sound I prefer the raider and the graal over it. The raider because it's a fucking double barrel and the graal because it sounds like a shitty old car when it's charged. I actually have the theme from Sanford and Son going in my head when I run around with that piece of improvised shit charged, a fucking glorious weapon.
Sabre is the sexiest weapon in the game. She is the French pornstar of mass effect weapons. Whispers sweet nothings in your ear while blowing enemy heads off.

It's going to be hard to tell still due to player skill, incendiary mechanics if they were used, multiple hits, various other bullshit. Wraith is a very good weapon but with the reload canceling you're closing the gap considerably on the wraith as far as mooks. And if I want that power to stun a banshee and stagger her out of killing someone.
