Ashley.I found her cold and uninspiring.Passive aggressive alot of the time. And even her delivery bored me. I tried my best to try and engage her often and see if ash does end up being more likable but NOPE that didnt help. Not proud to admit this but i even sacrificed kaiden to save her and she has the audacity to stand there and look at me with those dead eyes and speak with that monotonous ' i might as well be a robot' voice Kaiden died in vain and its just

I've only played ME1 once (just finished it and am now on ME2) and I don't see myself ever picking Ashley over Kaidan because of the reasons you mentioned. I don't even want to be around her because of the way she presents herself. I realize that could change if she was allowed to make it further into the game but I'd have to talk to her and at this point I don't even enjoy listening to her talk.

That's how I saw Ashley. Lots of people loved her but I didn't see it. She was just annoyingly aggressive. Her part in ME2 was just in character for her whereas with Kaidan it was a deviation. You could see that he was hurt and reacting emotionally rather than intellectually.
If we're talking squadmates, it's Ashley that I like least. If we're talking overall characters, it's Sparatus. Whenever I hung up on the Council, it was Sparatus dialogue that made me do it. If I let the Council die, well, BYE Sparatus! Sorry the others had to go with you. If I don't let the Council die, I feel I'm owed an apology in ME3 that I never get.

Im glad others feel the same way.I missed out on a great character progression for kaiden I kept giving her excuses and trying to work around the problems she presented. She is so one dimensional and i dont think anything will ever change that and yeah i meant squadmates (let me edit the title quickly)

Ashley is excellent. She's a soldier like I was a long time. She kills that krogan on Virmire. excellent
least favorite - t'soni boring and annoying. No reason for her to be a squadmate. When taken on missions, never shuts up about talking about the protheans. I've studied them for blah, blah, blah. How many times do you have to say that crap before you realized you've said it several times before? Best thing I do is rescue the asari after Virmire.

Edit: Oh, it's about squadmates. Probably Wrex. He's my favourite character of the squadmates, but he's a cold, ruthless killer so not someone you would really enjoy being with.
All characters in general: This is a difficult one. There are lots of jerks. Anoleis was one. Jeong, too. Udina was also like this, but I can't seem to hate him for some reason.
Kaira Stirling probably. Such an arrogant and dislikable...person. I enjoyed using Throw on her as soon as she finally shut up.
Doctor Wayne as well. I always let Toombs shoot him.

If I had to pick, Wrex. He gets more interesting as the game progresses imo. Other than that in ME1 proper I've liked everyone. In ME2, I started disliking Kaiden, but it would be unfair to retrofit it to ME1, where he was a very pleasant character.

Doctor Wayne as well. I always let Toombs shoot him. I prefer to kill Doctor Wayne myself. The logic is excellent: I can get away with it because I'm a Spectre.

Doctor Wayne as well. I always let Toombs shoot him. I prefer to kill Doctor Wayne myself. The logic is excellent: I can get away with it because I'm a Spectre. I would do that, but then Toombs survives and you get his e-mail, and my Shepard would read that, remember, and airlock all the Cerberus crew. But as there's no option, it's just easier to pretend it never happened.

Ashley certainly isn't my least favorite character. She's not the most likeable person, but I do often have my different MaleSheps romance her. Mostly because cheating on Liara in ME2 has generally less interesting results when one gets into ME3 and MaleShepards just totally got the better selection than FemShep when it comes to ME2 moving into ME3.
My favorite ME1 character is probably actually Wrex. I quite like him in ME2 and ME3, particularly in the Citadel DLC; and would have just love to have him as a squad mate in ME2. (The key to liking him in ME1 is to be a little renegade, take him on lots of elevator rides and ask for comments from him when going around the Citadel and on the other main mission planets).
As for who, among the primary characters, I dislike the most in ME1... that honor probably goes to Anderson. (I'd give it to Udina, but I consider him to be a somewhat minor character.) So much more could have been done with both those two that just simply wasn't. Anderson does have a bright moment in his final scene in ME3; but again, it could have been so much more if they hadn't gone and cut out a lot of the dialogue that had been recorded.
OK, ok... of the squadmates... probably Tali. Her conversations on the ship are just boring, boring info dumps. Her VA does a great job making them even halfway interesting. If they had of made her a romance option in ME1 and improved her conversations as a result, she'd be my favorite; but as it is, she's at the bottom of the pack for me.

I ended up picking Liara aswell; there was too little interesting about her. her voice acting was mostly monotonous. No interesting or fun lines, she lacked a strong backstory or a very interesting personality. She frankly came off as a bit whiny.

Liara. Doesn't have any depth. Her character sums up in "I am afraid I am not very interesting, Commander...(Unless you are interested to bang an asari. I am a virgin, though!)"

It's funny that Kaidan and Liara tie for second least favorite squadmate but in another poll they tie from second most likely to romance. I guess people are pretty extreme about them.

Picked Tali. Despite Geth being the main enemy faction in the first game, she had very little relevance beyond having evidence against Saren. Very forgettable character in ME 1. Just couldn't bring myself to really care about what happend to her like the others. She did get much better in the second game where you can get more involved with the Quarian people.

I don't really hate any squadmates, but if there is one over the whole trilogy that I could play without and not really miss, it's Ashley. Also, Kaidan is still bae.
