Asari are just blue women with tentacle hair. Krogan are just space turtles. Salarians are just Roswell aliens. Quarians are just shopped stock photos. Etcetera.

The purple space Khajit to his right seems to have a smaller face and fuller lips; so I thought that would be the female.

Because, you know, totally new galaxy, everything totally alien, and new, etc. -- and they have to look like humanoids with catlike features, displaying similar sexual dimorphisms.

Length isn't the issue. There are plenty of shorter cuts that look classy and great.

This just looks awful.

Didn't they change her combat icon at one point? Might indicate there was a previous look that I'm almost positive would've been better.

No, no. That was what I imagined, not what's the best. I gotta disagree, though. Taste is taste.

This is Mass Effect. Practicality was never a thing. Also, there are other non squadmates that are romanceable in the Nexus. Let's not overreact.

I'm not too impressed if i'm too be honest. It looks all too generic and safe. Where is the exploration, the sense of wonder, the unknown? It's hard to digest the whole new galaxy schtick when the new aliens are basically twileks, tbh i'm quite bored of the whole generic humonoid alien trope. The storyline hardly seems inspiring, generic, i think, kinda like DAI's not going to pass judgement here though as i'm hoping that we would get a few surprises on the way.

Regarding ryder, lets just say i'm very glad that there is a character customizer, though his voice does really grate on me, it's like some 18 year old without any sense of gravitas.

As for the new companions, krogan looks like your generic big angry dude, praying liam doesn't end up as jacob/vega 2.0, still not sold on peebee or the turian. And cora well :/ it's like bioware aimed for manly trans cassandra 2.0 and failed to do even that. She looks totally in the uncanny valley. The problem with giving her thick, blunt 'masculine' features, especially that bulging jawline is that most women's faces aren't naturally shaped like that meaning that she looks really strange and disproportionate. It's very pronounced in the new induction video, where her head is huge in proportion to her body, the kind of lollipop head syndrome you sometimes see with severe anorexics. Hopefully, assuming that companions are built with the same sliders that main characters are bioware can work on that. If nothing else, they need to tone her features down.

Edit: just looked at cassandra again, cora looks even worse.

It was pretty cool. Had a very different tone to what I expected, but I liked it. Feel like it gave me a better idea of what the final product will be than anything I've seen so far.

Don't really have much to say on Liam or Cora. Cora's appearance isn't what I expected, but I like it, it set's her apart from our previous female squadmates. Liam looks a bit too similar to Koth from SWTOR for my taste.
I really wasn't keen on the background NPC's of that new species we've seen, but the design of the focal one in that trailer is gorgeous

I don't get why every time a female character doesn't wear long hair people complain.

I like the hair. Plus it makes sense from a convenience standpoint, considering it has to fit in a helmet.
