What annoys me is i am someone who is annoyed by SJWs (also by the alt right but b that is a story for another day) but i get really annoyed when people diss on BW for being SJW when they aren't. They are one of the view companies to get diversity (mostly) right.

Youtube comments are youtube comments. What makes me sad is how a popular view of Mass Effect that of a game about romances, with everything else coming in second place. And if you look at some of the creative decisions of Andromeda, like the captains' cabin, some of our squadmate design, the lattest trailers... it's clear this team sees romance as a much bigger part of the game than the older team. Why can't they share first place? Characters and romance are what make Bioware games unique when compared to other games. That doesn't make story or gameplay second place...it just means people tend to talk about those items more because Bioware tends to do them better than others. |

Ryder looking like Casey Hudson is a slap in the face for me. That guy destroyed ME for me and alot of other fans. Had hoped Andromeda would be a fresh start, not a grim reminder of the past. Holy shit.....you are so on point with the Hudson comparison! Personally I think he's brilliant and helped create something that is so special to me that I can't be anything but grateful, but I can understand why some would feel that way. Default Ryder will always be Casey in my head now, can't believe I didn't see it before lol.   |

I like how Cora looks hoping she is older always wanted a Milf romance in Mass Effect was so annoyed Samara was never an option. If you flirt with her in ME2, she is an option in the Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3. Not a huge romance or anything, but still one. |

I like the romances but they are just a part of character development, after all this is still a scifi rpg/action game and not a eroge. |

I once said on BSN Prime, kind of half joking at the time, that BSN Prime when I compared it to some of the other gaming forums I went to at the time it was actually a much nicer one. If I had to say that again on that same forum I'm not sure if I say that I'm joking about BSN Prime, compared to most video game forums wasn't NOWHERE as toxic as many would believe it too be. It had is it problems, any large active community that has been around for as long as it was will have problems, but when you go to dumps like NeoGaf, the Escapist, and Twitter (which is IMHO biggest garbage fire on the internet) it was a damn near paradise. I will say that so far this BSN and the other one I go to are MUCH nicer than any other gaming forums I used go to. |

To be fair, the points being made about aspects of the game being generic or rehased are all reasonably justified. Some of the Aliens seen from the trailers could just as well have wandered in the Citadel in trilogy, they'd blend right in with the Turians, Salarians and Asari, headvisors and all.
With regards to the cast the same arguments applies as well; Cora could probably substitue for Ashley in ME1 and Liam could have easily taken Jacob's Role in ME2. Likewise if diversity was so important then where are all the Dravidians, Polynesians, Uralics, Greeks, Turkmen, Inuit and Tibetian peoples?
