Jaal is the best so far (and who became an actual option!), but I still give him 4/5. To be fair this is at/above any other m/m in the series.

I'd put him in the top 5 main romance stories in the series (out of uh... 15 or more).

Jaal was great. Overall I found the romances in MEA to be lacklustre with the exception of Jaal (and Reyes). I actually found the fact that you have to befriend him first before you can romance him to be an interesting twist on the typical BioWare formula. I hope they do something similar in the future, or at least have it so that different companions are romanced in different ways. (Some are immediate and sexual, others are slower and more platonic, etc...)

Either way, love the octopus-cat man.

Well, I'm going through my first playthrough of Andromeda and I've finished Jaal's romance. While the pacing is a little weird, the sweetness is enough to make me fall over. It's as though Bioware distilled aspects of Kaidan, Thane and Garrus into him and the way Ryder and him banter the way two young lovebirds do make me go awwwww! I'm off to romance Liam as well so I'll come back to gush later.
