Like Jaal's sweet ass cloak? We know. We discussed it. It irritates me that they seem to think we're nutty fangirls and fanboys who only fixate on wanting to ride the cat alien. Maybe if they gave us a bit more to go on we'd discuss that too.  I am also very happy that this thread has blown every other romance thread clean out of the water in terms of pages.  So, you want to ride the 'cat'? You say that, but I don't think you know what you're asking. Oh don't be like that. The pussy is always worth it.   I laughed at that gif way more than I really ought to and for far too long.I'm hoping he's not either. While I didn't dislike the IB I wasn't all that into his proclivities and the way the dev's were hyping him up as some kind of sex fiend. (He was but that's not the point.) I think Jaal will have a bit more maturity to him. Or at least I hope he will. I'm not expecting a dull stick in the mud, more of a playful nature behind the courtly facade if he is a higher up? Or maybe something like.. .... this? (put on head/earphones, trust me on this)

Jaal is seriously nudging me towards getting EA Access so I can encounter him that much sooner. I can relate, sorta, if by some miracle they announce that Cora is a Bi confirmed option, I'll srsly consider pre-ordering this game. But that will never happen, aha aha  I haven't pre-ordered a game in years, looks like I'll be sticking with my reviews first then buy approach again. I've already given up on any of the human squadmates being bi. I wanted Liam myself. But it's just....not gonna happen. It can't be coincidence that you can never have a same-sex romance with the two starting squadmembers. Not after how many times it's happened. |

If you take people's average attention span into consideration, they can't release much information too soon™, or the peak of interest will have passed by the time the game comes out. That doesn't apply to anyone here in the forum, of course, but there may be gamers out there who don't spent entirely too much their time waiting for every scrap of news. In other words, they will probably dump a good portion of information on us closer to release, my guess is less than a month, maybe even just two weeks before launch. |

We know we're at least getting one more cinematic trailer (said to feature Sara, since Scott got the other two), and there's strong evidence we'll be getting a longer (~15 min) gameplay demo as well (rumored for the end of next week). I suspect we'll hear Jaal speak at least a line or two in one of those. I predict we'll get Drack's bio and kit on Tuesday (based on the schedule so far), then either the demo or trailer at the end of the week, then Jaal's stuff the following Tuesday (or perhaps even later). I know people are speculating that they had planned to release that image of Jaal anyway, but I actually think they threw that together for our sake (it's not even up on the official site, and it has 'quick take a screenshot and slap it into that Photoshop template we have for wallpapers' written all over it - call it a designer's hunch... and where is Vetra's wallpaper? Liam's?). Because they know it's going to be a while before they give us anything more on him. And we as the fanbase have reacted so positively to his design - probably well beyond their hopes. So they threw us a bone. A lovely bone I'm very grateful for, but still... That's my theory anyway.  But I do suspect a huge marketing push over the next few weeks, especially if I think back on how most game releases go. You tend to get the really meaty stuff in that month before launch after the game goes gold (they're likely more focused on that now than on what marketing might be up to). |

The way the devs talk about Jaal reminds me a lot of how the Dragon Age devs talked about Iron Bull pre DAI. There was lots of excitement over him and a ton of "ride the bull" jokes just like all the "banging" jokes about Jaal. I hope none of it is hinting that he's the fun, weird sex LI or, even worse, one of those LIs that aren't in it to get serious that they said we'd get in Andromeda. I'm sure Artemis would love her PC to get an arse kicking in bed again tho.  Oh you're HILARIOUS  I kinda did like the way he smacked my inquisitor on the bum after kisses though. |

I think people forget what a small pool of information we're working with here, though. ME1 and ME2 barely had gay options (Liara only being available because she was an alien) and ME3 kind of breaks the trend with James (no romance), Ashley or Kaidan (straight or bi), and Liara (bi). I'm not gonna pretend I'm hugely optimistic, but that's more because I doubt we'll have more than two bisexual squad members at all - I'd expect Cora to be bi before, say, Vetra. |

That said there would be 7 squadmates, and then on twitter (I think it was Mac Walters but I'm not sure) said there were "more to come" after seeing the last trailer, but the way it was phrased and in the context of the conversation it wasn't really clear if he meant squadmates or crew members so idk |

I personally think that Bioware's being sneaky and we'll get a temporary squaddie in the same vein as Jenkins/Wilson/Anderson. So technically we haven't seen every squadmate. Or yeah, they could be talking about Jaal but I dunno, they said we hadn't seen all of our squadmates I think after the second cinematic trailer was revealed. And we saw Jaal in that trailer, so I didn't get the impression that they were referring to him. |

Unrelated to Jaal but I'm cracking up at this Twitter exchange! It doesn't show up here but Tom approves and Aaryn has promised a DLC of this in summer 2018.  This is pure gold. It was funny and tbh I found it quite mature. The relationship (including the physical) didn't take itself to serious. And lets be honest, for me at least, being able to laugh in bed, b/c lets face it, sex is silly and awkward half the time, took me a long time. Not to take everything super serious and see things with more humor made me a happier person and happier in my relationship. But that my personal pov. For others that's different for good reason. For Jaal... I still don't know really what to hope for him. I want some passion, so the devs talk about this romance scenes give me great hope. But I want more than that. Give me some angst. Some awkwardness. A bit pining in the beginning. And please give me some fluff in the end. After Solas I need closure and a happy end. I personally doubt that Jaal is one of the one night stands. I don't think they would hype his romance that much if he were. Regarding the video! Hahhh that is a nice voice. Nom! But if Jaal treats me like some kid who can't take care of herself IM GONNA KICK HIS PINK ASS! |

Those 'power plants' are inside and who knows, maybe Krogan are like gorillas where their massive size isn't equally distributed. I attempted to go through the twitter thread and find them to quote but this forums strange scrolling went through so many pages it crashed my browser.... Still trying to get used to it compared to the old BSN.
I guess it was just vague enough that we wont know until either another trailer or a profile. I am always happy with more characters on the squad/crew. Either way I won't be too disappointed as we already seem to have a very nice and varied group.

ME1 and ME3 have less squadmates than ME2, but- they are pretty boring compared to ME2's colorful cast. This is just subjective opinion of course, but it seems that when BW game has less companions the companions they have tend not be that good. But when they have these companions that aren't even focused that much in the game.. they are way more interesting (aka Thane, Legion, Kasumi- 3 of my fav characters in the game). More squadmates seems to give them permission to go explore more colorful and less seen characters than just insert another Alliance soldier or mandatory Asari to the game. That's why quantity brings quality for me cause without quantity quality wouldn't exist. Though I'm being bit harsh with this, it's not like can't stand some ME characters or anything like that. It's just that they aren't my favorites and they could be more interesting to me. If I could decide squaddies for ME:A I'd scrap Liam, Cora, Peebee, Drack from the squaddies and insert young adult Drell that is rebellious towards Hanar and tradition, AI character who is not finding their individuality, but has already made that journey, Batarian that has conflict of trusting humans etc. Something fresher, more interesting.. But that would be just what I like. I'm fine with what we got since at least Jaal and Vetra feel like that to me. Lol I really went to places while writing this ^^; |
