For some reason I was never really bothered by Samara's outfit? Idk, I know this is off topic but it has been bugging me for a few days about jaal, If the Angara are the "peaceful" species and the Kett are the "kind of/sort of bad guys", if we got a Kett squadmate, is it possible that Jaal could like 'freak out' kind of like how Tali did when we got Legion? Sorry if that made absolutely no sense, I am new to the forum I'm actually very excited about the aspect of the game where we're supposedly able to influence/alienate our squadmates by making certain decisions, and I wonder if interspecies conflicts are going to play a part in that? I do hope, however, that it'll be more nuanced than the conflict pair-ups we got in ME2.

I know it's offtopic but it's a pity that Asari are monogendered. To quote Aaryn Flyyn "12/10 would bang." In all seriousness though, yeah - if they were going to make a race of universally attractive almost-human aliens it's a bit unfair to make them all female. Though I love the concept of an all-female race, they could just as easily made them something far more alien. Imagine if they'd done it but with something like the Turian design? They could have explored that same culture and I could have taken them a lot more seriously because the blatant hetero-male wank fantasy aspect would be absent. Even something like the female Angara design could've worked - they're still pretty in a relate-ably human way, without looking like human women in sexy cosplay. I liked the Asari overall, and enjoyed the characters we met, but that aspect of their design is something I have to force myself to look past. And I agree with you on the drell design. I think it's cool and I liked Thane's character, but never found them attractive. Between the big eyes and big lips and the freaky gill things on their necks I just wasn't into it. But different strokes and all that, and we seem to be in the minority. (And while the dead wife and terminal illness were a nice way to add pathos to his character, it turned me right off his romance.) And intended attractiveness or not, they're definitely farther from human than the asari. The Angara do hit the right note for me though. Jaal is very not human, but I still think he looks attractive. I really like Asari too, but I agree that it's not fair that they all female. I guess they were thinking only about straight guys when they're making them up. I'm glad that Angara look atractive so far. At least Jaal is. I'm not a fan of ear thing though.

Sometimes when Shepard gave Garrus hell in ME1 I always thought him just taking it felt so wrong.

I just generally think ME (and DA for that matter) made things a bit too easy for the PC... if you had enough paragon/renegade points you never really faced any consequences for your actions. Hope MEA makes it harder to endear yourself to everyone and forces you to genuinely choose sometimes. (I admit, I like stirring trouble and playing favorites... and actually getting chewed out for it! )

Seems I stumbled into the UN HQ. What else do we have here? English, surely, American too, Canadian more than likely, think some mentioned they were German or had German ancestry. French? Spanish? Dutch? Other? I'm English I love that there's already so much fanart

If they implement that sort of relationship dynamic, COOL. But I need a bar to explain it to me. It took me too long to understand how it works in DAI ;;

Clearly there's something about Mass Effect that draws in Finns. And Jaal too, considering were on the same thread. A friend of mine is completely infatuated with Thane whereas to me he has always looked and sounded a bit dodgy. The drell weren't clearly made for me but fortunately he they have their fans. But Angara have always appealed to me. Even when people still called them the play-doh aliens. That goes for Turians too though... I have no idea why but Turians look really cool to me. That not-Asari tho...

Canadian here! Also I'm hoping Jaal sounds kind of like Javik tbh, he had one of the "coolest" sounding voices in the trilogy. Although I still kind of think the "This...Is incredible" voice from the first cinematic trailer is him. If so, I really like his voice

On the topic of languages... I really hope we get to learn more about the new alien languages in Andromeda? I mean obviously we'll be using a translator but didn't they say something about the translators not always working perfectly or something? And that it would be explained in the game how they "all speak English", and how it might require more advanced technology to get the translators to work properly? idk I just want all the weird expressions and untranslatable words and huge cultural differences having a huge impact on language. It would add a lot of depth to the new races and characters and the lore, imo. I just think, since this is a new galaxy and all, they have a good opportunity to do something like this properly.
idk I just got the impression that we would maybe learn more about their languages. We already know they invented an alphabet for the Angara, so that gives me hope. I'm excited about that.
(btw I'm Turkish so English isn't my native language either. Never really thought it'd be an issue tbh but sorry for any mistakes I've made haha)

If they implement that sort of relationship dynamic, COOL. But I need a bar to explain it to me. It took me too long to understand how it works in DAI ;; I just lived on the wiki for DAI ; I never really made choices that matched my character. I just picked the choice that would keep certain characters happy so I could advance a romance, or get a personal quest, or whatever. I truly have the DA friend/rival system!! I like paragon/renegade except I do find myself selecting the "renegade" option all the time just because I know there will be rewards/penalties if I don't have enough "points" in one or the other. For my current playthrough I'm selecting a few middle options (thank god for middle options) because the renegade ones are either racist or just pure asshole lol My Shep is tough and no-nonsense but she's not a racist and she cares about her crew (but not in a mushy way; she cares about the people under her).

Anyway, there are no universal translators of course so we got to hear them speaking their native language. It was pretty cool!

I really like Asari too, but I agree that it's not fair that they all female. I guess they were thinking only about straight guys when they're making them up.
