If they implement that sort of relationship dynamic, COOL. But I need a bar to explain it to me. It took me too long to understand how it works in DAI ;; I just lived on the wiki for DAI ; I never really made choices that matched my character. I just picked the choice that would keep certain characters happy so I could advance a romance, or get a personal quest, or whatever. I truly have the DA friend/rival system!! I like paragon/renegade except I do find myself selecting the "renegade" option all the time just because I know there will be rewards/penalties if I don't have enough "points" in one or the other. For my current playthrough I'm selecting a few middle options (thank god for middle options) because the renegade ones are either racist or just pure asshole lol My Shep is tough and no-nonsense but she's not a racist and she cares about her crew (but not in a mushy way; she cares about the people under her). That was always my issue... You had to say certain things or you wouldn't accumulate enough "asshole" points to be an influential asshole later... On the other hand, I felt DAI didn't have enough variety... sometimes all your responses were just slightly different flavors of the same general idea. Other games have that issue as well, like FO4... Yes!/Ok/Hmm, alright/No (but actually yes or I won't get the quest at all).

Nooo! I LOVE that asari are all-female, or "mono-gendered" as they put it. I so gravitate towards them and feel a kinship with them. They are born in these feminine bodies, but yet they are born into a society that does not immediately assign them "masculine" and "feminine." They are technically not "female" or "women" (the way I see it). I like to think that the other species on their home planet are also mono-gendered. (It would not make sense otherwise.) So when they ventured out into the world, they literally had no concept of gender. Imagine when they encountered a gender species like the salarians. (Not sure who they found first.) This was probably extremely confusing to them, especially if it was a society that arbitrated certain roles for certain genders (like, by and large, the salarians). Even just hearing pronouns was probably very bizarre for them, as were words like "son" versus "daughter." (They likely have a word for "mother," the one who gives birth, versus "father," the one who provides the DNA imprint, but those are also not gendered). I just... love them. They mean a lot to me! This is why I'm Artemis trash. Awww!

lmao literally me during my entire playthrough of DA2. Can't show any sympathy for mages, or Fenris might get offended and hate me... I just avoided taking him on mage-related quests. Everyone was happy! He even defended the mages with me during the final fight. That's like half the quests tbh! I'll be playing my Ryder how I imagine her now (strong personality, but usually a casual party girl) and if Jaal doesn't like her then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good evening everyone The concept of asari is really interesting, especially on a cultural, ecological and social level, but their design boggles me. Especially given the fact that they're attractive to everyone (they sure as hell aren't to me >:I). I agree with fialka in that they really could've done more with their design and concept of mono-gendered race, and I would've loved a more alien, perhaps androgynous look to them. And maybe just confirm that they use mental suggestions cos that's the only way I can see the "universally attractive" working. As for a race of sexy men, I'd have to give that a hard pass. If they're gonna be designed similarly to the asari then I just won't be able to muster up an liking towards them since they'll just end up being dudes in hats. Everyone's concept of sexy is wildly different, and for me wildly different is sexy. Even batarians and drell are more interesting to look at than the asari, and I guess I'm one of the few that - while still really liking their designs - thinks they could've pushed the anagra and kett a bit further away from humans visually, even while still keeping them bipedal U_U (although honestly, designing anything with sexiness at the forefront can be very hit and miss if you don't really think it through) (However I guess I could make an exception for namekians. I just think they're cute~)

Everyone was happy! He even defended the mages with me during the final fight. I take my LI on every mission, just because I'm afraid I'll miss like 1 line of dialogue about, idk, the fucking weather or something. You can pretty much be a mage-hater throughout act 1 and be lovey dovey to him at the beginning of act 2 and you'll get him to 100% Then you can breathe and finally stop being such an asshole for the rest of the game LOL It's been a while since I played that game but yeah I think that's pretty much what I did I even remember him getting angry at me a few times because I just refused to be an asshole... Still loved him though lmao

I played all 3 DA games and all 3 ME games and completed everything! I found the mage-related stuff wasn't as big as I thought, so I balanced it all out. I am so burned out now I won't even touch a DA or ME game. I tried the same with Oblivion and Skyrim and it nearly killed me! I think he'll be alright with anyone as long as they aren't cruel.

On the topic of languages... I really hope we get to learn more about the new alien languages in Andromeda? I mean obviously we'll be using a translator but didn't they say something about the translators not always working perfectly or something? And that it would be explained in the game how they "all speak English", and how it might require more advanced technology to get the translators to work properly? idk I just want all the weird expressions and untranslatable words and huge cultural differences having a huge impact on language. It would add a lot of depth to the new races and characters and the lore, imo. I just think, since this is a new galaxy and all, they have a good opportunity to do something like this properly. idk I just got the impression that we would maybe learn more about their languages. We already know they invented an alphabet for the Angara, so that gives me hope. I'm excited about that. (btw I'm Turkish so English isn't my native language either. Never really thought it'd be an issue tbh but sorry for any mistakes I've made haha)This reminds me of an episode of ST:DS9 where Quark, Rom, and Nog crash land on Earth (of course America lol) something like circa 1940s? Anyway, there are no universal translators of course so we got to hear them speaking their native language. It was pretty cool! I am still waiting for a scene in ME where the translator stops working for some reason and they try to communicate somehow, with the aliens and fellow humans who don't speak English (those who aren't from Finland, as it seems ). I have seen some fanfic about this, but I would really love to have it in the actual game.

Clearly there's something about Mass Effect that draws in Finns. And Jaal too, considering were on the same thread. A friend of mine is completely infatuated with Thane whereas to me he has always looked and sounded a bit dodgy. The drell weren't clearly made for me but fortunately he they have their fans. But Angara have always appealed to me. Even when people still called them the play-doh aliens. That goes for Turians too though... I have no idea why but Turians look really cool to me. That not-Asari tho... There are Finns EVERYWHERE. We just lay low. Except me. I like to make noise. If I can combine it with stupid gifs, even better and I refuse to leave. Then I go all off-topic when they don't give me anything relevant to make noises about. Speculating is not my thing. Do we still know anything about Jaal's butt? No. So not fair.

I just didn't take him to mage-related quests and hated slavers with him and he was ready to die with me for the mages.

Asari are purposefully a race of blue space babes (blue to differentiate it at least a little from the stereotypical green) because BioWare wanted a touch of retro scifi in there. They've even said as much outright in art books. So yeah, that's what it is. They do try to stick some lore behind it in the game, at least, and that's appreciated.

I know, it's just, I think they have evolved. This is a species that was revealed back in 2007 and likely conceived far before that. It is now 2017. Times have changed. The asari, for lack of a better descriptor, have become more feminist. They just have. Because the world has become more feminist. Are they perfect, hell to the no. But like you said, they're sort of working with what they have at this point.
