Like, the whole crew just has to play a make-shift game of charades until they can get the translators working again That would honestly be so much fun! I think if could be a really fun segment while also giving us an idea about what the alien races sound like. One of my favourite Mass Effect comics is Shepard talking to Garrus and being surprised when he squaks in her face; It would be fun to do that with Ryder and the gang

Asari are purposefully a race of blue space babes (blue to differentiate it at least a little from the stereotypical green) because BioWare wanted a touch of retro scifi in there. They've even said as much outright in art books. So yeah, that's what it is. They do try to stick some lore behind it in the game, at least, and that's appreciated. I know, it's just, I think they have evolved. This is a species that was revealed back in 2007 and likely conceived far before that. It is now 2017. Times have changed. The asari, for lack of a better descriptor, have become more feminist. They just have. Because the world has become more feminist. Are they perfect, hell to the no. But like you said, they're sort of working with what they have at this point. Oh for sure they tried to make them more interesting and give them an important role in the galaxy beyond "hotness" (though that's still very and kind of annoyingly present). But that's the answer to those wondering about Asari design: the devs simply wanted blue space babes.

Lot of happened with thread as always so I'll just mash everything in one post.
Drells are very attractive. I wouldn't change anything on the design. Bit more attractive than even Angaras, sorry! Turians in other hand.. I remember watching some gifs of ME on my dash before playing the game. I was confused why everyone was into this dinosaur bird alien named Garrus. I bought ME2 (since there is no physical copies of ME1 for PS3 around) and after hearing him talk a bit and seeing his personality- I got it. He's attractive. But Turian's looks aren't that attractive to me, I prefer more humanoid aliens, still alien, but not too much.
I like idea of mono-gendered race, but I hate how Asari were first designed as eye-candy. If they had thought about their concept more at the beginning than let's make sexy bangable aliens, I think they would have been better. I appreciate Asari's as race, their portrayal got better during series and there were multiple great Asari characters, but they could have been better.
Since Angara's are new species to us, I'd like if our translator didn't work that well at the beginning. If every word wasn't translated yet and Angaran word would slip by, if some translations were bit stiff and even hard to understand. I think that would bring more the mood that we are pathfinders in this new galaxy with new planets and new aliens.

Rynnju They tried to say the Drell were the male version of the Asari, but I think the Angara will top them.

I've been to Berlin a few years ago, loved the Xmas markets. Luckily, my sister is fluent in German so that helped ALOT. Some days were very confusing. You guys have some serious food, I miss my german chocolates. Thought lots of Germans spoke pretty good English? Some did, mostly younger Germans. Other days you'd just get, I have to find someone who speaks english to help you. It was a mixed bag.

As to the Turians, it is a recurring theme in fanfic they use sub-vocal sounds out of hearing-range, but I don't know if this is mentioned somewhere in the lore (I haven't played some of the DLCs and read none of the comics).

Rynnju They tried to say the Drell were the male version of the Asari, but I think the Angara will top them. I always found that odd; I don't find drell very attractive at all, perhaps though that's because Thane is their representative and I find Thane just a sad sap I don't believe I've EVER sat through any of his full dialogue; I usually skip through everything. An "attractive" all-male species for me would have to be way more masculine, but hell that's just down to personal taste. I can see why many would find the drell drop dead gorgeous. Angara are still too pretty and now too ALIEN for me to find personally attractive. Most attractive non-human species I've ever encountered are probably the DA2 version of the qunari. YUM!

For me it was always his voice and Garrus' voice that sold me. Looks were alright, but the voices were amazing! The Angara are both pleasing to the eyes and have amazing voices, so that's a bonus to me! And there really is something about Jaal's design, his clothes especially that makes me just say "wow" when I look at him. I don't know what it is, but there is just something that makes him stand out beyond a normal companion in a game. Even Dorian's shiny robes didn't really make me go "wow" when I met him. Now Viv was another story. She was gorgeous in that outfit and radiated confidence as she walked down those stairs!

I can't really put my finger on it but there's something about him. He looks confident, experienced, badass but there's also something gentle in his eyes? (reminds self that we only saw his face for 2.5 seconds in a trailer) He just looks charismatic and intelligent. In other words...

Ah, I should really get off my high horse since I'd probs do the same thing given the chance (and have) Firstly, hows it going guys ? Now, to what I wanted to say. Is having sex appeal and flaunting it really that bad ? They're a beautiful race, and they know it. Maybe some of them enjoy showing off. Plus the whole stripper thing is such a tiny part of the game, it's not like they force you to watch them strip for 10 minutes for a quest. They're just kind of in the background. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a guy. But it just never bothered me at all. As a gay dude I have absolutely no interest in looking at them, but I don't have to.

Just as I don't mind nakedess, I don't mind more..."provocative" figures. But seeing only girls in these roles (like the Consort, the strippers, the romance scene, or the sexy characters in general) have me both roll my eyes and yawn more than a little.
