Yeah, I mean I can appreciate that but the whole stripper thing was a bit cringey. And maybe they could've subverted the trope a teeny tiny bit more. Ah, I should really get off my high horse since I'd probs do the same thing given the chance (and have) Firstly, hows it going guys ? Now, to what I wanted to say. Is having sex appeal and flaunting it really that bad ? They're a beautiful race, and they know it. Maybe some of them enjoy showing off. Plus the whole stripper thing is such a tiny part of the game, it's not like they force you to watch them strip for 10 minutes for a quest. They're just kind of in the background. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a guy. But it just never bothered me at all. As a gay dude I have absolutely no interest in looking at them, but I don't have to. It may just be that females and female-bodied people are sick and tired of their sex/gender being the ONLY ONES portrayed as sexual beings, and not just sexual beings, but sexual beings who exist for the consumption of males. But maybe that's just me

With the Ryder twins being brought up military, I would be surprised if they even had piercing holes. :/

Ookay, go for a walk (Not the best idea in winter *shivers even with two layers of clothes on*) come back to see someone mention furries, then others called pretty, then there's gays, women figures, strippers, and people called sexy... I always miss the fun posts, damn it!

AHHHHH I just can't wait to upload my Ryder as my new avatar /random I really hope they have face codes like in ME2/3... It was really tedious to share the cc settings for faces in DAI. Yep. That's a screenshot of my phone. Of my photos. Because that's the only way I could replicate a Lavellan I had made in CC. By going to the magic mirror and taking a photo of every. single. slider. option. It's a little thing that the devs didn't seem to find important. But it's important.

I personally would prefer if strippers, consorts and brothels if they decide to borrow from DA etc. were cut from the game. I don't mind nudity, but I don't get the point of those, just poor taste to me.

It makes sense for them to be there, though I hate when they're played for a joke (or for simple sexual gratification of the straight male player, a la The Witcher series). I'd prefer seeing brothels, prostitutes, and courtesans/consorts/escorts that are presented realistically and respectfully, and containing both/all genders.

It does suck, but like I said, that's an ME thing and unfortunately it'll probably stay an ME thing. DA will hopefully get something like face codes when we get DA4. I want DA4, I'm so ready for Solas to be the main antagonist.

For some reason these games are intent on making me miserable by having one great option but not another. Mass Effect has face codes, but no way to change in game. Dragon Age has a way to change in game, but no face codes so everything takes a million years and a million screenshots. Why, BioWare? WHY? My console pleb butt can't use save editors.

If they were interested. Anyway, no need to harp on about this. (I'm talking about myself, you're good.) Hopefully if they have strippers again, and it's kind of a staple at this point so I bet they will. They have the good sense to have a little something for everyone.

-snip- Haha...yeah..though I think they actually showed some rare consistency with Got? They used a lot of Germanised names for the families and places in the show? Often enough they failed in doing that on/in other shows/books, etc...however I can't really give an example now to prove my point So yeah, it's like you said, experiencing the way it was intended beats adaptions by miles. Since I consume a lot in English, games and the like, my problem is now that I actually recognize some of the voices...the one thing that made me start playing games in English in the first place....because it felt like the German voice over industry only had about 10~ish voice actors available - across the whole media platforms, including advertisement. However, now when I walk past Krem in DA:I and he goes "Inquisitor" I always end up saying "Not now, Shepard..." because of Jennifer Hales very distinct voice. I couldn't play as a female trooper in Star Wars The Old Republic for the same reason, but on the other side I really enjoyed playing as a female Hawke in DA2 because of Jo Wyatt who voiced the Imperial Agent in TOR and her voice (and the class) I simply loved to bits. I'm not playing anymore but I think it will always stay with me as a fond memory because of it. But because of this habit of mine I sometimes think I'm considered as a little bit of a snob when talking about tv shows that I watch I should give more credit to the German versions but sometimes I can't really understand why they would change some voices so very much from the original one. One example for this is "Fringe" where the main protagonist is a tough FBI agent played by Anna Torv and she has a very deep sounding voice that actually punctuates the toughness of her character...makes her really believable in her role but she cand sound so much softer and really fragile as well...depending on the situation. And in the German version they used a voice that was a lot higher pitched which made her instantly seem more like a woman that needed protection and was like a little, soft flower...or - and I'm sorry, this will sound very inappropriate - like your typical 'blonde' (I have dark hair so I'm probably very biased)...and it annoyed the hell out of me because she now seemed to fit into this 'she's just too beautiful and feminine for her job but she will still kick your ass because she's sexy like that'-trope...and well...yeah...I would always just change the channel when Fringe was on telly... Whew...that was a little bit of a rant...I think I'll need an imaginary cigarette now. Ah, and yes I know Drakensang but never played it to the end. I can't really tell you why...I think the transition from chapter 1 to 2 just throws me off...it seems like so much work to go out and bother having a look at one the two 'merchant-kings', though I guess when I get down to it I will probably enjoy it. But I guess my main issue there is that though I like the DSA setting in P&P, I don't like it enough. I have this one dream that I will one day find the time to actually finish all the games I own...and give Drakensang another go. Maybe when I'm really old and on pension or something Ah...I wanted to mention that before, but somehow the 'right' place for it eluded me: There is one show I actually rather enjoy with German voice overs. Firefly. I guess the English version is still better but I fell in love with the show the first time I watched it and the German voices just got stuck in my head. And the jokes are really good as well even though I might be missing half of them. One could argue that I prefer it because I watched it in German first but I don't think that's the case 'cause I watched Star Trek in German as well...and yes, I don't mind/ I do like the German version, yet I still think that the English one is better. Okay...that is so much text now that I feel almost bad that I don't have anything to contribute to the real topic here (Jaal) at all..almost I don't think it's snobbish, I bitch about German adaptations, especially the voices (Thorin in The Hobbit comes to mind) all the time or maybe I'm a snob too? I don't really care, I'm just extremely grateful to understand English on a level that allows me to play/watch the original versions without having to consciously translate something. There are quite a few JRPGs that are never even released in German and I feel really bad for people who'd like to play them, but simply wouldn't be able to follow the plot if it's all English. I never got through the sequel to Drakensang, there's like a boss battle right at the beginning and I keep dying, and I don't like dying, lol, so I moved onto other games. No shame in that - there are games I replay countless times and those that I'll never finish, no illusions - BUT I'm entirely sure ME:A will belong into the former category, all Bio games so far have And now, surprisingly on topic: It's great we're playing in English, because then we can be excited for every tiny little snippet of Jaal's voice that's revealed before launch, yaaay!
Yeah...dying is my problem in games as well...I can get rather easily frustrated. Usually it's just me being lazy about fighting mechanics and since I do raids in MMOs I think it gets easier for me to see were I'm failing and adapt more easily. My first playthrough of DA:o took me...years. But that was actually due to the game crashing in Haven. Always. I didn't bother after a while and forgot about it (and went off killing Zombies with friends or something like that)...then a couple of years later I was on the phone with a friend talking about rpgs in general and Dragon Age just hit me. I think I went to bed about 3 in the morning because I had to install the game, got up a couple of ours later and rerolled a new character just to get me back into the feel of DA and then I reloaded my old save...the last fight was horror. Not because it was difficult but because the damn game kept on crashing and crashing and crashing...but in the end...I beat the game But it's a pattern I have. I play up to a certain point, game annoys me with something or other and I stop playing for a couple of month or longer. Then I feel like playing again, reload old save game...find that I don't know what the hell I'm doing...start anew and get back into my old character anyway...and finish it. ME trilogy was the exception. I just had a kind of, I dunno...euphoria there, pushing myself ever onwards. And when I was finished I had to go again because of Garrus. Felt like a real accomplishment on my part. And since ME it's easier to finish my games. The pattern is still there - I actually finished DA:I just yesterday (the DLC Trespasser and loved the second half of it to bits) - but it hasn't such a strong hold on me anymore. And I don't think that pattern will come up for me in MEA. Or at least I hope so. But since a friend told me I had only about two days to finish the game and go on MP with him I will probably play the game one way or the other. Anyway...'lange Rede, kurzer Sinn'...I agree with you...participating in this hype here is a great benefit. Thanks for your time /Labermodus Ende
Some did, mostly younger Germans. Other days you'd just get, I have to find someone who speaks english to help you. It was a mixed bag. Good to know; I would so love to visit Germany some day. My sister has been and said they had little to no trouble communicating. They were in Munich. Buuut Thane was a sexy and suave assassin with a conscience *melts* now if only he wouldn't have had a dead wife and an incurable illness... *sigh* OT: Yees, yes, come to Berlin! Best city in Germany *totally not biased* I have to agree. Berlin has many English speaking people! On Topic: I would really love for BioWare to put in some extra work in the different languages. A not really working translator would be just lovely...for the time being...just to give the feeling of actually meeting up with a new species. I guess they will explain the loss of any language barriers away with 'humans already being in contact with Angaran race before our arrival' and I will have to live with that...but they did come up with the Elven language in Dragon Age...so here's to hoping. I don't really expect a fully fledged out fictional language...just something to make people aware that it was a struggle to communicate at first (how much creepier our first contact with the Archon would be if we didn't understand what he was saying to us until some software kind of manages to translate...that would be awesome!) Actually I don't really know how the translator worked in the trilogy...I mean...did everyone on earth just speak English or did our human languages just translate as well...but if so...I think I remeber Vega speaking some Spanish? That would have been translated then as well...or can you actually learn some kind of 'council common tongue' in school? Well...doesn't really matter anyway...playing JRPGs and watching Anime taught me to sometimes just things as they are and save critical questions...for real life problems. Makes it easier to enjoy some things. Ah, ond slightly off topic again...did anyone see that they are going to release a comic with a Turian protagonist...? Probably should post that somewhere else...but since I really love the Turian race (Nihlus first appearing on screen I was going and then - 'Tell me more about them, please!' ( a little bit like with Jaal and the Angara...)...I had to ask.

Ookay, go for a walk (Not the best idea in winter *shivers even with two layers of clothes on*) come back to see someone mention furries, then others called pretty, then there's gays, women figures, strippers, and people called sexy... I always miss the fun posts, damn it! I missed the furry's apparently, and I'm not upset about that at all. Nothing wrong if that's what a person is into. As an animal lover though it creeps me out. I have friends who are fuzzballs. I'll admit I mod for a couple PS4 fuzzball communities. Some can be overbearing, others are just your typical nerd. I can be friends with just about anyone, because I'm so laid-back. I don't care if you're LGBT, only thing I ask of a T, especially if we were to get in a relationship, is to tell me. This way I'm mentally prepared and don't have to go "So, is it taco Tuesday or breakfast in bed?" (you figure that joke on your own). But I digress... I don't care if you're black, Indian (India), Muslim (fuck ISIS... the group, not the Goddess) or whatever race, creed, or religion. Just let people live how it makes them happy, so long as it doesn't effect another's life. Very little surprises me anymore... The darkside of the internet tends to do that to ya... No eye bleaching will remove those images. Many cause me to loose faith in humanity, only to have it restored. I'm easy to get along with, but betray my trust, I can be a total dick... sorry for Bio '

I mean, you're telling me bi/gay women don't like to look at sexy half naked women ? But yeah, I could do with some stripper men. No I'm not, and surely you know that. Trust me, the strippers in the ME trilogy were NOT there for female players. They just weren't. We all know this Someone was being pandered to, and it sure as hell wasn't me.

I'd like to give my Sara a tattoo, a body one, gotta work to find it tattoo. Slightly NSFW and would never happen in game ofc but imagine Jaal finding a tattoo somewhere on your Ryder's body and tracing it with his fingertips, which tickles, and Ryder has to stifle a giggle then Jaal traces it with tongue/lips *swoons* Jaal is gonna be my friend dammit. STAPH!
