I wonder if the female Angaran are as colourful/bright as the males. Rewatching the trailer, their skin looks a lot duller than the males. Im probably wrong but it looks that way so far. Everyone looks dull there compared to Jaal. Was that on purpose to highlight him or is he special somehow so is colored different? He may be uniquely colored for a reason. I think every other Angaran we've seen is either blue or green, including when they showed up unfinished in an earlier gameplay vid. It's possible that his skin color is within the realm of normal but of course companions have to stand out! I keep wondering about his scar. I wonder if there's a story behind it that he'll tell us. |

Maybe they change their color? Not willingly but... Hrm the higher ones social status theore colorful they are? But then the other Angaran on the stairs would have brighter colors. Maybe it's simply that he's a companion and he needs something to recognize him more easily. I actually wonder how hard their skin is... For me they look soft, squishy, silky.... What do you guys think? |

Angarans are space twi'leks, so they come in all colors. Well, Twi'leks is already from outer spaces, but you get my drift. Green Angarans, Red Anagarans, Blue Angarans, Purple Angarans...

I wonder if the things on his head really are some sort of tentacles or one solid part with some furrows on it. Reminds me of a conversation between Joker(?) and Liara if she could move the things on her head. She was not amused.  And I have definitely never petted a squid, no idea what their skin might feel like. Did you pet manta rays? Huh? What do invertebrates like squids have to do with manta rays? Or are you just expanding the zoo? We already have got lions, house cats, cobras, squids, bunnies, werewolves... and I probably some more I forgot about.  |

Huh? What do invertebrates like squids have to do with manta rays? Or are you just expanding the zoo? We already have got lions, house cats, cobras, squids, bunnies, werewolves... and I probably some more I forgot about. :P They are a marine lifeform, and fun to pet! And soft and velvety to touch.... so, maybe Angaran are not all cold and scaly, they may be warm and, well, soft if not exactly fuzzy. |

I think I'll agree with lilyenachaos , more tough than hard. Their tentacles (cowls???) look kinda like they're cartilaginous, so I'd imagine their actually pretty stiff (if those are indeed tentacles). Also has anyone really looked at Jaal's funko pop figure? I keep thinking I see a nubby little tail, but it could just be his outfit. |

I've never petted a ray, but I have handled a small shark (thanks biology class  ). They might look smooth, but their skin is really rough and can actually cut you if you're not careful. As Angarans go, I don't think they have this rough texture. They look fleshy, however, the top of their heads and backs might have that roughness found in sharks. *shrugs* |

In the game awards trailer there was a bright purple/pink Angaran raider that Ryder charged too. Even the blue and green npcs (who are assumed are male) are quite bright in colour so the theory of the males being more "attractive" than the females seems plausible. But of course, nothing in concrete until we get the deets from the game or devs.
As for their skin. It looks fleshy definitely but, to me, it looks like it would feel like snakeskin. Or maybe something similar. But their crests(?) look quite tough.
