Who will you play as, Scott or Sara?

Male custom Ryder! I always enjoyed playing as default Shepard with both genders but I will give a try to make a custom main character this time.

I mean, I'm certain I will play as both sooner or later--especially since from what I understand you can use the other Ryder in an NG+ mode. That said, I'm tempted to go with Scott first, because I really like his sound--he has this sort of Nathan Drake/Young Captain Kirk vibe that I really like.

As for the rest, I'm sure my first playthrough will be a shitty build--a hodge-podge of stuff to test out and experiment with, though I see myself going for a Sentinel/Vanguard mix.

Since it has always been my priority to differentiate my canon protagonists, I may actually be less self-insert after all. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but the impression I have developed is that only straight female and gay male Ryders will be able to romance new specie choices (Angaran, and potentially Krogan?). So, I will wind up with one of those configurations most likely.

And apparently I will be keeping the default name with my custom, so I can hear it being used.

Default FemRyder. I was always MaleShep as he seriously looked the part of a hero but there is just something about MaleRyder I don't like and with the fact that anyone I make myself would just look weird leads me to happily go Fem this time.

What's the difference? 

It wouldn't make much sense to play a Viking type of a game as a woman given the option.

It depends on the facial customization. If it sucks, I'll just go with female femshep 2.0

You gotta catch up with those history lessons. It wouldn't make much sense at all - immersion breaker for some and a ridiculous concept for others, but nobody would take the option from you, which what the poster was talking about. No need to get so bitter over it.
