Does make you wonder what his actual standing in the religion is? Is he actually their equivalent to the Space Pope and the guy who's ultimately in charge of the entire religion? Or is he the leader of a rogue denomination of extremists, who have embarked on a crusade to conquer the Heleus Cluster? Since the Kett aren't apparently native to the Heleus Cluster, the Archon might simply be a crazy zealot and the actual Kett species are relatively benign and peaceful in comparison?
Would be a nice twist if our first impression of the Kett are that they're all a bunch of scary dogmatic aliens, only to later learn we just had the misfortune to make first contact with the followers of a Jim Jones-style cult of personality.

Story spoiler warning! The leaked achievements show a mission where we have to choose to destroy an Exaltation Factory or save the Angara prisoners trapped in it. Sounds like he's creating a religious army or something. |

There seems to be little love for our villain, not much traffic in this thread. New race, involved in a major plot line and he even has his own Funco Pop figure, and nobody has posted the first decent look we got at his face yet. I wonder why he looks so different from the other Kett, hoop aside. The whole facial structure looks different; he has not only less bone plating, but his nose has another shape and more nostrils, for example. I like his voice, and look although his armor makes it seem like he has a potbelly which makes him seem goofy. I do hope that the Archon has some encounters with Ryder to set him up as an intimidating threat, and that he doesn't turn out like Corypheus (who I liked, but who only really had the Haven bit to be cool and nothing else). Edit: I didn't see it mentioned but from the Launch Trailer: It seems like we encounter him fairly early on, as you can see the Hyperion captain slouched next to Sara Ryder when he does the mind-reading thing. |

There has been some discussion in the twitter thread if the Archon is male or female, as Scott refers to him as male in a trailer, but Mac Walters tweeted "He?" in regard to the Archon some time ago. Didn't want to clog up the twitter thread any further, so I'm posting this here.
His voice doesn't sound female at all, imo. One could argue that alien voices don't need to have the same characteristics as humans', but in other cases Bioware sticked to low/male, high/female (except SAM, sounds like a lowered female voice to me, but that's another matter). Even if the Kett have technically no gender, you have to use some pronoun, not sure why Walters would say "he?" in any case. Unless he was just trolling us, something very strange is going on with the Kett, or at least the Archon.

So just saw the first mission and he looks like an adorable teddy bear. I just started giggling like really? I'm supposed to be intimidated by that! It was TW3 with Eredin all over again. Oh look here's the big bad of the series takes mask off BUHAHAHAAHAHAHA I'm supposed to be scared of that?!

Hated this prick! Wished he could of meet Sovereign face to face. Sovereign would have been captivated by his cuteness, caught in its stare and enslaved to the Archons will, the catalyst could not have forseen such an exceedingly gorgeous creature and as such had never developed effective defenses against the power of love. Through the Reapers, Archon now has access to the combined genetic material of every harvested species. This is a bad idea. |
