Everytime I see a dev say it has to fit their personality I realize that I must not be gay. I wear teeshirts most of the time for god sakes...there's not a fashionable bone in my body. I'm not gay. I can't be. It doesn't fit my character. Or the fantastic How can you be gay? Doesn't your dad like you?

With Sheryl there is always hope. That's nice to hear in regards to Vetra tho for those who want to pursue her... if true. Official confirmation would be bloody nice tho, for all involved and that other leak about the m/m options is incredibly disheartening and complete BS if true, hope it's not. You guys deserve better. At the start of this thread, there was another leak that said the complete opposite of the other leak about m/m options. There have been leaks contradicting what has been said about Vetra, and there was another one contradicting Dave's info. Really, at this stage, its all become a whole lot of "He Said", "She Said", "They Said". Problem is things change from when stuff was first created. In 5 years much has happened, so anything leaked could easily be old news unless the person leaking the info was updated.

No daddy issues and my fashion sense ends at "whatever falls out of my closet". Dammit, Bioware confirmed I'm not gay because it won't suit my character.

This whole situation is so laughable for me right now, I went from really angry to giggle time every time the devs say something. Maybe it's for the best.
About the it has to fit their personality thing, well, as much as I love Bioware characters, queer males have always been stereotyped, Zevran the bisexual elf who would hit on everything it moves, Iron Bull the top bara type who likes BDSM, Dorian the flamboyant gay friend. I'm not counting DA2 for obvious reasons, I think Kaidan is the only non-stereotyped one and he wasn't available in ME1. Steve too, but has too much drama for me, I don't know if "my husband died" can count as stereotype, no idea.
I WANT KISA-JAAL BIOWARE.

I'm just gonna say this; I've had/have five close LGBTQ friends in my time. Two were the stereotypes. One was, oddly, a different stereotype. Two were no stereotype (a transwoman IT guru and a bisexual male combat veteran, US Army).
To say 'it must fit their personality' means, by my math, you need to get the fuck outside and meet more people.
People are people. Sexuality is a statistic, not a defining core being mentality. My friend, for example, was a veteran first, then a philanthropist, then a comic nerd. His sexuality, if I continued on, isn't even in the top ten 'traits or characteristics' I would give him.
Some people need to grow the hell up, realize that the traits of others change nothing about themselves, and live and let live. Peace, harmony, and alien wang for Scott.

To be fair, the quote "While characters have various sexual orientations in Andromeda, Walters said the team made sure that it makes sense for the individuals" can mean a few ways: a) "This guy is not flamboyant/sassy/etc. so he cannot be gay." This assumes that a gay person must have a certain set of personalities. "This guy had a loving relationship with a girl, so he should not be gay." A background story regarding is created first, and then sexuality is assigned. Then it is found out that certain sexuality is not compatible with the background story. The interview did not mention anything regarding personalities, as far as I recall. It's not clear which of these the dev really means. So I will rest my pitchfork for now.

But I'm actually fitting quite well in a "shy twink" stereotype apparently (some of my acquaintances are thinking that every quiet and not sleeping around guy is a gay). Buuut we've never seen them in any of Bioware games, so I'll pretend it doesn't count.

Eh, you guys need to put more points to cunning. Ask them something like: "Can a gay Scott romance PB or do they have to settle for Jaal?" And when they try to tease or reply something witty in their confusion they'll unintentionally drop some legit info.

True, or at least don't come from a place of concern and frustration, but from humor.

While we're on the topic of Liara: I hope they don't push one (or two) romances as "moar canon" than the others. That sets my teeth on edge. It's bad enough hearing the fans tear each other apart over stuff like that; the last thing I want is the devs encouraging it. I agree. While it is inevitable that some characters may have a greater role in the overreaching story See: Liara, Morrigan and Leliana, Their romances shouldn't take priority over the others. Morrigan's romance arc throughout the series is one of my favorites but it overshadows the others and ends up, even though the Warden doesn't appear after Origins, having much more content. I'm not entirely sure if that can be avoided depending on the character or story but the other romances, while they may not be as story centric, should be raised to the same level out of respect of player choice. We can't choose the story or central characters but our choice of romance shouldn't be completely overshadowed by who the devs may or may not like more.

-What was it like to record the sex scenes? It was cool...He had to do the sounds for the sequences kissing his hand, heavy breathing, and at the same time doing this to completed animation (means he's watching it happen). Lots of joking while doing this acting, #prettygoodbanging came out of that (how the devs came up with it). "Couple of relationship sequences were just wonderful." Talks about how he had favorite subject/relationship sequences and how they were wonderfully handled. Tastefully handled. Modern sensibilities were set aside.

Does that count? .... a whole lot of things just started to make sense! My sassiness, my wisdom, my promiscuity, all the dudes I've f***ed, my love of candles! Thanks for setting me not-straight, Bioware! But seriously, yeah. All their gay male characters are sassy and emotional, by and large. Give me badass viking homosexual bro. Give me curious alien soldier bisexual bro. Give me snobby wizard bro. More importantly, give those characters to the people who want new, inclusive romances, that are varied and don't try and pin three character traits to all non-straight men. That shit's offensive, and unfair.

I like Liara as a character, but I found myself resenting her because of the way the devs treated her as the OTR (one true romance). Which one of them was it that had a massive hard on for her? Priestly? I can't remember. Anyway, it was pretty gross, and it's really shitty to do to the fans as well. I felt the same way about Miranda as well. I love her but I resented that she got ALOT more content than the other romances. Not to mention how the camera always tends to find it's way to her backside. It was obvious that she was a favorite of the devs. That I don't mind but the other romances should have had as much exposure but it felt like Miranda, a side character in ME3 got more attention than some of the Squad Mates.

Oh yeah, every time the camera panned up Miranda or focused on her arse I just got angry. And I like looking at lady butt. I had forgotten they continued it in ME3 until I just got to that part where she's a hologram in the spectre office. I'm still waiting for a lingering shot of Garrus' arse while Shep's talking to him about his big guns or something.
