DA2 ia my favourite DA game shush don't look at me like that. DA2 isn't one of my favourites (Arcanum, guuurl) but I think it deserved way more respect than it got. The Hawke siblings aside, I think it had the strongest cast of companions of any Bioware game so far, the story was bold and unique, the concept of staying in one evolving city over time was really intriguing and just needed a stronger execution, the DLC was all really strong and attentive to the complaints about the base game... I thought it was really good. It just wasn't done baking. Also fuck human only protagonist in a fantasy game. Despite me wanting bigger and bigger games with more and more content, one of the things I particularly liked about it was how tight it was. And that's weird considering ME1 is my favourite ME game because it felt more vast, and considering I'm really looking forward to MEA for the same reason. Despite its polish, and despite me liking it a lot, DAI was the weakest for me because it lacked the tightness driving me on from A-B. Some people don't need that, and I don't when I'm playing Skyrim, but in a BW game with a focus on story, too many huge expanses filled with nothing and with no story leaves me feeling empty. DA2 just had that tight structure that took me from one thing to the next, and idk, captured something that I really found enjoyable, and it made it easy to keep replaying without thinking "aw man, I've got to go through the Hinterlands again" or "ugh, The Deep Roads." DAO is still magnificent, and everything during and after the Landsmeet is some excellent shit - but getting to that point takes it out of me after a while. Maybe I'm getting old lol.

Meanwhile I just romanced Piper (best waifu, fite me irl) and no one else because she's the only one the game ever shows as not being totally on board with the polyamory thing afaik I romanced Danse (and edited him to make him look Bara as fuck ;D ) but stopped playing when I realised that I'd apparently done most of the main story and that hardly anything of interest had happened. And then I thought the final DLC might make up for it with a strong post game story expansion and then it was just a story-lite raider roleplay. You can make the best open world sandbox ever but if the story is shit I just can't get invested. I romanced MacCready. It was right after beating DA:I + dlcs and I was fucking relieved that finally I got a normal, non-stereotypical m/m romance. And I loved that Bethesda didn't give a fuck about companion's sexuality, so every character was playersexual. No one complained.

MacCready is my go to husbando in Fallout 4! Danse is hotter, but he's too high maintenance.

I think when I was in my teens I used to like an RPG to be as big as possible, but I'm finding that as I get older and have more real life shit to do that I much prefer a tight story. The most important things in an RPG for me are that I get to create my own character and their background, sidequests that feel relevant to the larger plots and that I don't have to do mental roleplay gymnastics to justify my character taking time to do, an expanse of dialogue options, choice and consequence and cool companions who REACT to those differing dialogue options and character choices. I don't give a shit about being able to make a pot of stew, or doing Nordic dungeon #30, In fact, one of the most reassuring things to come out of the previews was that somebody said the rewards for doing sidequests in ME:A are largely narrative rewards.

That would be the most unhealthy relationship ever. Miranda and Jack hate each other, and that doesn't always mean sexual tension like some people like to think. Sometimes you just hate someone.
edit: Though maybe I missed something? Well Fenders is most popular DA2 ship and Cassarric has it's fans so.. hate based ships are pretty popular within the fandom ^^; I have read some Fenders fan fictions and they are too... kinky for me. I notice similar trend about "hate ships" as well in other fandom I'm in. You can make the best open world sandbox ever but if the story is shit I just can't get invested. I hated that Danse spent most of the time in his power armor. And when I took his PA off, he looked so disgustingly deformed lol. It took a few mods to make him look good. What I love about Danse romance though is when he said "Ad Victoriam" after you sleep with him. MacCready is also my favorite.

Best believe I invested a good five hours getting his power armour off and giving him my ex-boyfriends a perfect, beastly muscle/chub cuddly frame. Honestly, I get the argument about respecting the companions/squaddies iconic looks but at the same time...it's the players individual game. You can edit Shepard but Sheploo is no less iconic and still exists through all promotional material. Giving the option to tweak romance interests means that people can just choose whoever they find the most appealing on a narrative level and tweak their looks to their taste, ultimately satisfying a far larger audience. I'd be so much more interested in a Kaidanmance playthrough if I could just edit him to have sweet, dopey eyes, a beard and a stocky frame.

New updated speculation: Straight BroRyder: Cora Straight Sara: Liam, Jaal Both: PeeBee, Vetra Gay BroRyder: Reyes, Gil Lesbian Sara: Suvi Asexual either: Kallo Getting the feeling Lexi will be down for neither. I can see them pushing LexiXDrack. I'd be super down for that but one exception. Jaal for Both Ryders, I mean c'mon how could you not have him be Bi? He's getting attention from both genders of the fanbase. Here's what I think would make people happy (as far as Tempest Options go) Available To Both: PB, Vetra, Jaal and Kallo Scott: Gil, Cora Sara: Suvi, Liam (I assume) 3 Tempest Options for M/M, M/F, F/F. This would be best case scenario really.

"Varric: Just because two people dislike each other doesn't mean they're about to kiss, Sparkler." Nah, I like it as well.

Seriously, I don't really think they dislike each other. At least, Cassandra likes Varric, even if he did make her very, very angry. She likes him as a person. He, on the other hand, may be understandably pissed she basically kidnapped him, but I don't think he dislikes her as a person either. Fenris and Anders, meanwhile, genuinely cannot stand each other.

I usually adore love-hate relationships, but I don't like either Fenders or Cassarric. I'd prefer something like RootShaw from Person of Interest, where... well, idk about to boil down that relationship in just a few words. There's a whole playlist of their moments on youtube. It'd be a dream if Bioware ever had a lesbian romance anything like RootShaw.

That said, if the 'leaks' are to be believed, sucks gals won't get a chance to hatemance Cora. Has there been a hatemance in a Bioware game with a female PC? Not including, say, rivalmances from DAII, as those are player-dependent.

Not sure if that qualifies. But on the other hand, no real hatemances with male love interests that I know of? Excluding the rivalry system. Unless you're talking about NPC headcanon pairings like Fenders?

Not including, say, rivalmances from DAII, as those are player-dependent. I can't think of any real f/f romances that always start from a distance/dislike/etc the way some of the m/f romances do. Sera's romance can sort of have a bit of that towards the beginning if you play elf and there's the scene where she gets mad about the nightmare she has about the Inquisitor dying... But I couldn't get into Sera because she felt super young to me, not even like a teenager (I romanced her in-game when I was 17, remember) but like some kind of preteen. So idk, other than the rivalry romances there's not much of it. Liara, Leliana, etc all start immediately eager to get with the Fem!PCs. I would love something with more bite to it, more sexual tension, etc.

Solas's has it towards the middle/end of the romance, especially post-breakup.

Troll notificationmoderators won't normally comment on who gets warned and who gets banned, but a few additional eyes on the matter wouldn't hurt. We have a poster who goes by various usernames, but it best known as 'Two Faces'.He's been perma-banned before for increasingly unpleasant posts, but is using some tricks to sneak back in. If you spot him posting, please do hit that 'report' button and we'll be right over to ban his ass again. Thanks, on with the conversation.

I can see them pushing LexiXDrack. I would not be ok with this if it's true. I share the same sentiment that others have over the last few days: the complete absence of m/m romance options in the main Squad is insulting and a huge step back for Bioware. Especially considering the success of Dragon Age: Inquisition and popularity of characters like Baeorian. Do not mistake me, the fact that there are m/m romances at all is not nothing but the fact that our options were (potentially) relegated to side characters tells us that we were an after thought while in contrast m/f Ryder (potentially) has all three /f options. Not cool at all.

I just put ring on Preston and that was it. Though I have to say that I didn't really like romance mechanics of FO4 at all. Romance tied on how much charisma you have? Worst idea. Even more when I missed most of romance dialogue with Preston cause of it, didn't have high enough charisma- nor silly sunglasses and hats.. and strong alcohol to boost it up- to pick flirt options so many talks I just had to go with friendship path.
Also you need to plan who to romance before hand in FO4 as well since if you first "collect" all companions, you have missed tons of romance talks and content with the first ones by the time you can make informed decision. I liked the romances FO4 had, but the system could have been so much better. Then again, Bethesda only had Skyrim's marriages as system before FO4 so big step forward for them.

I agree on the charisma check. It's really hard to make a good romance video because of having to save, cause you are not quite sure if your romance choice will actually accept your invitation. I also feel obligated to have my charisma as high as possible because of not only the romances, but the vast amount of speech checks in the game.
So all my characters feel the same, cause I found the one build that really works-and there's so few points to go around unless you are willing to grind forever.

I'm quite close maxing all stats on my character actually, but it has been ages since the companions had anything new to say too so definitely didn't help with romance talks. If I remember right before the last romance talk with Preston that locks him as romance, I just got my character wasted, tons of alcohol and then went to speak to him. I don't think that would work IRL.

I don't think so either. Confessions of love with booze on the breath would not work for me at all. It also feels like you are tricking them into caring about you, despite the fact that after the romance is going they all seem like they are the happiest people alive. So why did they need to be tricked? meh...

I used to have to wear my sexy dress (charisma boost)every time I attempt speech check. But then I discover the magic of quick save during the conversation/before speech check and then quick load back right to the speech check if I fail it.
But yes, FO4 romance really lacks meaningful content. It's probably why I like Danse romance since it ties directly to the Brotherhood main quests. I might even like Preston if he isn't a radiant quest dispenser.
