Tbh, maybe there will be some sub-line. I can act like am falling rather quick, whispering things and then in a matter of seconds change it to "nope, go away, nope nope". There's still hope... Right? Of course no. There is no hope. She will be one of easiest romances since she will require no trust system for romance to start.I really hope that's misrepresentative of her romance. It feels so lazy to almost always have the f/f option(s) be ones that immediately fall for the protagonist. The protag just isn't that suave, girls, come on! No, no, I'm holding out for her romance having more to it than that. It's Sheryl Chee, after all. If Vetra's bi she'll probably contrast to Suvi in that regard.

Someone who sleeps around? I remember a few things you told me and we tried to guess what they meant. From what I heard, she's an actual romance option, not just a fling.

While you are annoyingly correct, I think after two games of zero gay romances, and three games of zero gay/bi male alien romances, they'd want to give a little variety to us. Well, if it turns out that the only m/m options are two human males, one a crewman and the other off world, then yeah, I will blame the writers to a certain extent, unless I know for certain they were writing with a gun to their head. We can't blame the devs for the marketing fallout but we can and should blame them for stepping back on promises of diversity and rolling back progress made in previous games. Still, the overtly hetero leaning milking of the hashtag #goodbanging while ignoring concerns of other fans is not a good look.

Highly doubt the Tempest romances will be flings myself, just imagine how awkward that would be. I'll be seeing you alot. I'd imagine that's more fitting to the folk you can hook up with on certain plantery hubs.

I tried to actually muse about non-squad romances since I can end up with that end of a stick and, while I'd like to think otherwise, I strongly believe that all of them will be fairly easy to initiate. Only squadmates will have that brand new to ME series system and some actual attempts from us to get them (at least being nice). Meanwhile, NPCs will have some fetch quest at max, after which we will be able to progress any kind of possible romance with them in a matter of hour at max, since devs clearly stated, that plot points won't matter when you're trying to talk with somebody/romance somebody. "Ow, you got me that [x] item? C'mon, time to go to bed". Or just "time to go to bed" if they have no quest and you talk with them, leave tempest, return, talk again and repeat that, if they tried to prevent instamancing by doing that lock at least. And if they did, I hope me leaving Tempest won't make me saint again, like in ME3. Killed Ashley? Oh, well, we will call you monster until the next mission and then we will forget that she existed at all, my ass.

Ah that makes sense now! Especially regarding the other stuff and why it would upset people.

I feel like I need to say this so... Out of the entire trilogy, gay and bi men have had one squadmate romance, Kaidan. Everyone else had at least one squadmate option in the past, some getting more than one. It looks very likely that everyone else this time in Andromeda also gets two squadmate options. So for gay and bi men to get no squadmate after literally being thrown a bone in ME3 is a whole lot of adjectives I can't be bothered to use right now, so I'm sorry, but I for one will not sit around for another 5 years hoping BioWare will do better when clearly if these leaks are true they aren't doing better at all but going completely backwards. Also If these leaks are true that Vetra's writer campaigned for bi Vetra, and if this somehow led to Jaal not being bi for "reasons", I'll be proper angry at that, not only cause its gay men getting the shaft again but, in all honesty Vetra should be one or the other IMO, I don't think having two female aliens be bi and gay/bi men have nothing works out at all. It does however line up neatly with Mac's troubling comments on the romances so there's that

What I am saying is that, right now, all we can do is hope for the best for a good outcome. The more they tease hetero content and refuse to tease m/m content, the more and more obvious it becomes we'll have to wait for dataminers to find our options for us. Our backlash and criticisms aren't going to mean anything to unconfirmed content. Once it gets out, then we'll know how it is, and we can decide as consumers whether to place an order or not. Until then, I suggest people who really want substantial gay content to not pre-order. EDIT: Furthermore, I doubt that Vetra's sexuality would affect how Jaal's was decided.

Still, the notion of a writer actually having to fight and campaign for their character to be bi just shouldn't happen, and its really, really troubling to me. People act like the writers always have control over the sexuality of their characters. People even use that to justify the character being straight rather than bi or gay. However, there's been numerous cases where a character was almost bi, and it ultimately didn't happen. Oftentimes, LGBT writers and LGBT allies have had to campaign for said content. Gaider did so for years.

Well I've already pre-ordered, way back in January when I still held naive pathetic hope for this game, and am not going to cancel it. But I won't really be able to play the game and enjoy it if all this silence and distinct worry there's a reason behind why they won't talk about m/m content is true. A part of me wishes I never really came here. Sure, finding out when I get the game would still hurt, but y'know it was nice for a while being excited for this game. Now it just hurts feeling like we are just gunna be lumped with crewmembers, sorry thats just my opinion. I liked Steve as a character, but his "romance" was awful.

BioWare should not really be held to praise for their LGBT content if they actually have to fight and struggle and campaign for it even to exist. My hope for this game just keeps getting lower and lower, and its all to do with this aspect of the game. But it just troubles me how far back they've gone, what the hell happened?
