At this point, all we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best. If we don't get what we want, then hopefully Bioware will care about our concerns and do better next time. If they don't, then there's always small indie companies that make LGBT content. As long as Suvi isn't another Traynor, I'll be pretty content. Need I say anymore? :srs: My biggest disappointment of Mass Effect 3 and yes I am serious.

No, I definitely agree with you that it's unacceptable. What I am saying is that, right now, all we can do is hope for the best for a good outcome. The more they tease hetero content and refuse to tease m/m content, the more and more obvious it becomes we'll have to wait for dataminers to find our options for us. Our backlash and criticisms aren't going to mean anything to unconfirmed content. Once it gets out, then we'll know how it is, and we can decide as consumers whether to place an order or not. Until then, I suggest people who really want substantial gay content to not pre-order. EDIT: Furthermore, I doubt that Vetra's sexuality would affect how Jaal's was decided. Well I've already pre-ordered, way back in January when I still held naive pathetic hope for this game, and am not going to cancel it. But I won't really be able to play the game and enjoy it if all this silence and distinct worry there's a reason behind why they won't talk about m/m content is true. A part of me wishes I never really came here. Sure, finding out when I get the game would still hurt, but y'know it was nice for a while being excited for this game. Now it just hurts feeling like we are just gunna be lumped with crewmembers, sorry thats just my opinion. I liked Steve as a character, but his "romance" was awful. Well, it is just a suggestion. It's not like you gotta follow it. I can't help but hold on hope that we'll be pleasantly surprised. Ever since my friend told me this stuff, I've been feeling so down on the Mass Effect team. I want to believe that LGBT content is more than an afterthought. I desperately want to believe it. And your opinion on this matter is perfectly valid. I can't see them ever making the hetero love interests mostly crewmembers, so how come the majority of gay content should be non-squadmates? It's a very unfair double standard that only serves certain players well while screwing everyone else.

I feel like someone should message or tweet the developers this, as for me, this argument is sooo valid, and I'd really like to see how the response would be, since it really is such an obvious double standard that serves to undermine and devalue the LGBT fanbase.

People act like the writers always have control over the sexuality of their characters. People even use that to justify the character being straight rather than bi or gay. However, there's been numerous cases where a character was almost bi, and it ultimately didn't happen. Oftentimes, LGBT writers and LGBT allies have had to campaign for said content. Gaider did so for years. I'm really trying to not get heated, but goddamm, this should not happen, not today. BioWare should not really be held to praise for their LGBT content if they actually have to fight and struggle and campaign for it even to exist. My hope for this game just keeps getting lower and lower, and its all to do with this aspect of the game. But it just troubles me how far back they've gone, what the hell happened? I don't know. I hope that they don't stagnate or go backwards with Gaider having left Bioware. He wasn't the only one to campaign for LGBT content, but he was one of a small minority.

My gut feeling is on EA and the marketing teams. I would guess that they think that ME franchise is more straight male oriented and announcing lgbt contents might be too controversial for straight male audience and so too risky for a new ME game. I definitely disagree with that though. I am sure a lot of straight gamers would not mind lgbt content. Really I would say that most players don't really care about it. I hope that it's not Bioware themselves that are backward, because if they are, I would be really disappointed.

And really I never got the sense Mac Walters was a champion for LGBT content in the Mass Effect trilogy, not with his whole asari fetish, which surprise, surprise has carried over into Andromeda. And his comments only support this, and practically foreshadowed all this, that gay and bi men would get the scraps of the barrel, cause if there's too many bi characters, its too much work apparently having to change the ENTIRE character cause it has to be a part of who they are ffs

How does being gay have to "make sense" with who you are? It's a sexual preference, not your personality. Hell, if it has to "make sense" so much, then why is Cora macking on Scott in the cinematic trailer? By their argument, she could easily prefer asari and therefore women due to her past experiences with the asari commandos. It's just a flimsy excuse to not have certain characters be gay or bi, imo.

Yup, and said person who holds such dumb and dated views on such things is the creative director of the game, and clearly seems to have had a lot of influence too if these leaks are true, and also just look at how everywhere you go its Peebee Peebee Peebee And until today, the only special voice actor videos were the two asari ones, Peebee and Lexi, both with Mac present, cause he just has to make sure there are asari in every shot, like feet in Tarantino films

But, yeah, they're essentially the "fan service" race, and it's always been pretty clear that they're not so much designed for LGBT women as for straight men into alien space babes.

Do you mean asari as a whole? Because I can think of countless asari that weren't and aren't sexualized. For example your avatar.

For real, the asari have sooo much potential, and when they aren't being objectified and serving only as titillating fanservice for the always presumed straight male audience, they are compelling and engaging.

A sarcastc/charming adventurer with a bit more experience under her belt to know just how to approach any situation. I'm fine with this though. Her character fits maiden asari stage lore by the descriptions of her so *shrug*.

I just can't get into the whole "young ingenue" or "young quirky fun girl" thing they have with a lot of f/f options, especially the asari. My dream would be an older, grizzled asari veteran, who's at least towards the end of her maiden stage at the youngest.
