Almost no one can see Bioware making Jaal gay, and they've already confirmed him as romanceable. So you're safe on that front. Now, that doesn't mean he'll have the exact content you're looking for, but it's something. As for the rest, it's up in the air right now. One thing that supports Vetra being an option for Fem!Ryder is that Sheryl Chee has never written a romance option that was for male characters only. Leliana and Isabela were bi, and Blackwall was straight. And with Leliana and Isabela, they actually preferred women slightly more. Now, that doesn't mean that there wouldn't be a situation where, say, she suddenly decided to mix it up or where her bosses told her she can't make Vetra bi/gay. Still, as her writer, she has far more control over Vetra's sexuality than a bunch of male fans hoping she's straight (and, yes, there are those that exist unfortunately). I'd like to think and hope Vetra is bi also. But if both straight guys and lesbian gals get to romance an alien (or aliens since we know Peebee will be), and gay guys don't (like Jaal for example being straight), then that would incense me so bad. It would be the first time I think the squad would have three bi squadmates, and all of them alien. I just hope there isn't unnecessary triggered backlash from some straight folks if there are three bi squadmates. I'm really hoping for variety with gay romances. Both gay men and lesbians should be able to have gay alien romances and gay human romances. The thing is, no matter what happens, having any bi or gay squadmates at all besides Peebee is gonna invite backlash, especially if it's a male character. And no matter which romances are gay-only, there are going to be people pointing to said romances and saying that it's so unfair that they couldn't romance said gay character with the opposite gender. It's just how some straight people are in fandoms with more LGBT characters. |

I don't know, Bioware could throw us for an extreme loop here! Doubt it... but, Wouldn't that be crazy if Jaal was gay?! Granted, I'd totally be for it . All because I'd want to romance him wouldn't mean I'd be upset if he was gay. I'd be totally for it! (no implying you or anyone would think as much, just confirming my opinion for it.) Really,if I have any real hopes for the romance content it's this : One. Same sex romances are given options, hopefully more than two? If there's going to be more romances than any ME game, why limit it to two. Two. Those uncomfortable with sexual relationships or are ace have at least have one romance option per gender. Three. It seems probably small or doesn't fit on the list but I hope in romantic situations, your LI avoids calling you Ryder. It always makes me cringe when "Shepard" was said in intimate moments hahahaha |

You all realize that since that leak, the rating for MEA has gone from partial to actual nudity right? We can't jump to conclusions! Of course it did, they added new nekkid scenes for Drack as I leaked! Who is jumping to conclusions?  True, but I meant specifically in regards to the lack of nudity and stuff. |

But this also goes both ways There are those who want to have Vetra as a lesbian Liara, Garrus and Tali were the best and most taken romances Garrus only for Femshep and Tali for Maleshep and Liara for both. If Vetra is a lesbian then you can also have a Male Quarian and it is only for MRyder. I would like to see how the fans react on it women who would like to have a male quarian and men who want a female Turian would be ME 2-3 again only gender swap. And I still know how many gay men and lesbians wanted Garrus and Tali that would not be fair for straight you do not make an injustice with another one right so I say Bi for Vetra and Jaal that would be just logical And for me as a straight man I have no problem if all squadmates were Bi as long as I know what the Flirt option is and if a Male NPC would flirt with me and i can say politely no. |

I just want Vetra and PeeBee for SisRyder. I don't really care about the rest (Not saying others can't care about it). Although I would like to see more female NPCs available to SisRyder as well. Also hoping for diversity in that department as well (i.e Black, Asian).

The reason for this is because there's already tons of straight women and heterosexual romances in media: whether it's movies, video games, tv shows, books. But there are very few lesbian romance-specific content in comparison. To say things should be gay is different because there's not that much gay to begin with. However, to say things should be straight is just trying to maintain a homophobic status quo out of discomfort towards LGBT people. |

Also, people are always going to make the argument that X character being gay is "unfair" to straight players because so many wanted to romance that character. I've even seen someone on the BSN saying Reyes being gay would be "unfair" to straight female players because female players never got a male non-squadmate romance, despite the fact that Cortez was a non-squadmate because he was gay and that squadmates are always gonna have more content in general! People made arguments that Sera being gay was unfair, that Dorian being gay was unfair, that Traynor being gay was unfair. Guess what! Gay romances existing and being important characters isn't unfair to straight people! |

That's the problem, yes the leaks are confirming the romances, but the scenes themselves could have changed. Heck I'll admit that leak about Jaal's romance has discouraged me, but I'm still going to play the game and enjoy it for all its worth, not just the romances or lack of romances. And if we let ourselves think the worst, we will enjoy everything less and who knows, something wonderful and surprising could be lying in wait and we'll miss it because we lost interest because of things we assume will happen. |

Tumblr is where we got that Jaal romance rumor, and I agree, nothing should be based on that, but as an example I was saying it affected my enjoyment of romancing Jaal slightly and if I go into the game waiting for the worst, I'll miss the stuff that makes it the best. So far any romance leak I go by are those I talked to here in PM's and what they said is looking pretty official. |
