I just want FEWER mini-games and hacking required, though this might cause me to forget how to play them if they are too infrequent. I hate them because it's like playing a TV commercial before the show can continue. I frequently quick-save before each bypass/hack in case I mess it up, again causing another speed bump for me.
When I'm chasing someone who has gone through a door and then locked it so I can't follow them inside, I'd rather be able to place an explosive charge on the lock/door, or bust through the door with melee, and continue the chase. If we could always carry 1-2 explosive charges (not a skill or loadout choice, so we don't use up our grenades), I'd love it. Just some thoughts....

They weren't even simple logical tricks; just pattern recognition & matching. At least the 'chicken crossing' minigame in ME1 required a tiny bit of skill. That "chicken crossing" minigame was probably the best minigame they had. O_o Yuk, really? The ME1 decryption game was horrible. It was nothing more than a reflex tester. 'How fast can you push dem buttonz?' I know the hacking and bypass games in ME2 were too frequent and repetitive but at least they involved a bit of actual thought. IMO it's just not worth including a mini-game that doesn't involve any form of problem-solving at all. Even Quasar and other luck-based games involve a little bit of strategy and planning.

There's only one minigame I enjoyed in recent years and it was Gwent in Witcher III which is now it's own game (I don't play it though). All the ME minigames were tedious, ME1 were probably the best though.
I don't like the concept, I prefer skill checks.

Actually that rings a bell now that you say it, thanks. I was wondering how anyone could like the console mini game!

Imagine if they decide to hide the best ending to ME:A behind a minigame. In order to achieve you absolutely have to play the minigame. If you refuse or don't win you won't get the best ending. Would love to see fan outcry to that lol. No

As long as they are optional like the Astrariums were in DAI. I did a few and found them more annoying than anything and not worth wasting time on when I could be picking elfweed instead. I hope they don't tie them to any quests.

Either skill checks or minigames, but something has to comeback. ME3 "hacking animation" was a joke, what's even the point. This is a game, hacking doors/terminals needs some kind of actual gameplay involved.

Once I played ME2, I realized I didn't miss the inventory one bit. I am a completionist by nature and I can't help sifting through crates or mining stupid onyx right in the middle of an important mission, which drives me crazy. I don't want to freaking look behind every table to see what's there and yet I must. ME2 and ME3 were such a mental relief in this area...

But plenty of people do love exploring, looting etc. And really, modern games are so much easier than back in the day that extreme scouting every crater is never needed, unless on hardest difficulties.

Pazaak!!! The fact that they haven't added this marvelous mini-game (made even better by obsidian in kotor2) in swtor is a mystery to me. Give me something like pazaak or even something more advanced like gwent as a side activity in MEA please.

All the ME minigames were tedious, ME1 were probably the best though. I don't like the concept, I prefer skill checks. Gwent was awesome in Witcher 3. The game itself was simple but addictive enough to keep me playing. And building your decks by winning tourneys, buying at shops, or completing random side quests made it all the better. The MEA devs did mention taking aspects of Witcher's side quests, but it would be cool to have a mini game similar to gwent. I'm thinking more akin to the digital hologame you see in the original Star Wars in the Millennium Falcon. Create that gwent style on a hologram chest board where you have to collect new hologram pieces/characters. The characters can be turian, krogan, salarian, etc, Shepard, etc. Something to think about.

I dunno if they stayed in Mankind Divided, but Deus Ex: Human Revolution has the best hacking mini-game ever. That mess was actually fun; if Bioware aped that for Andromeda, I'd be game.

It would be great if you could let your companions open containers/ hack computers if your own character lacks the required skill or you just don't feel like doing the mini games. If you bring along an engineer, for example, it would make sense to let him/her do the hacking. That's what different skill sets are for and it would make the game at least feel a bit more like a proper RPG. But with the ability to change your skills any time you want, as it seems to be the case, this is likely not going to happen.

They expanded upon it. My biggest complaint is they added a "Fog of War" to certain hacks and I hated all of those so I save scummed across them if I didn't have the item to reveal the map.

If there are hacking mini-games I hope they are like the one you can do in ME2 where you hack the mech in the archangel mission. I was hoping there would be more stuff like that in ME2 where you could sabotage the enemy's equipment, but that was the only mission where you got to do stuff like that from what I remember.
