Daddy dies, or rather, you think he's dead but then he shows up later. And he ends up being a bad guy.

Didn't he have just three or four cameo appearances in Flash before they killed him off? Just sayin...

I could see that happening. It doesn't help that his neutral face looks shady and he has slicked back bad guy hair.  

Family conflict can be terrific (see Star Wars) - but not for it's own sake if it doesn't serve a larger story.  I just mention it as a possibility.

DadRyder could get captured too by the bad guys and tortured, etc - that's effective as well.

Clancy Brown was killed off in the very first episode of Sleepy Hollow so he's got form. I'm assuming he costs quite a bit so hire him for a few voice overs and a bit of game time then kill him.
You get all the marketing benefits of a well known and respected actor without the price.

I think it would be more rewarding for us if he truly just decides to step down (maybe because he screws something up) and
becomes available to talk and give us advice (if we choose so) on the Nexus.

That, to me, would be ideal, and can be really amazing if they play it right. I mean, who better to reward us with N7 ranking later in the game?

Maybe if the human ark is in trouble, marooned, maybe the craft actually gone down, he (Alec) elects to stay behind with the rest of the human group: to defend it, keep it safe, rule/lead it whatever while they work out some kind of plan. In the meantime, the new pathfinder is sent out asap to scout for resources or a possible place to set up shop.  Because the place they have landed is short of essentials and they can only last so long etc. etc.  Plus the Nexus seems to be having trouble so no help there to start with. 

I see no reason for Dad to step down as soon as they arrive since he was well aware of what would be required once they got there.  I'm sure he didn't join the initiative in order to retire on arrival.  Unless he's injured or otherwise incapacitated but that's supposed to happen to the sibling so that would be unnecessary repetition.

Do we play as Alec for awhile and if so do we know how long we get to play as him? I don't think they would kill him but then I could be wrong on that. Though I am guessing that they the writers would completely remove Alec from the picture so that either Scott or Ryder can take over and get out under his shadow and come into there own with out daddy being there. So I am guessing that Alec will either just up and leave on his own cause he discovered something or he got captured by the Archon and the Khett which honestly I like the idea of for some reason or he ends up dead

And i was hoping for very bad guy DropzOfCrimzon... but eh.

That was almost exactly the same thing I thought when I first saw him. I was thinking he will die somewhere around the third quarter of the story, but I think it seems more likely he'll die in the beginning as it would give the Ryder twins more reason to step up to be heroes or something.
