Also the reason why she doesn't go (Assuming the "I am Archon." voice was during the hailing scene) SON/DAUGHTER!!! is because she vanished when the twins were young, likely not being able to tell who they are as adults.

In any case, the texts are hard to read even on the HD videos but Ellen's name came from the bio for SAM.

My guess is she left Alec Ryder to have loads of Asari sex and perished in what is commonly known as Multiple Rapid Contacts War.

You mean EDI? Because that's what that VI became.
Also, though people seem to hate the notion of Cerberus involvement in the A.I., could SAM have benefited from Cerberus's work on EDI?
Perhaps they're twins, kind of.

I didn't mean to suggest that SAM is/was the VI because I knew that that was EDI, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they didn't benefit from each other in some fashion. I was thinking of a connection to that mission more along the lines of Elen being a casualty of the VI when it 'went rogue'--for reasons that were never totally disclosed/confirmed as far as I am aware.

But I'm probably also erring on the side of giving Cerberus too much credit and involvement in the goings on of the Initiative and the Ryder parents for my own little theories. That's not to say that I agree with the organisation, this just strikes me as exactly the sort of thing TIM would have his fingers in.
