when a character as in the main character has no soul or personality how can one actually believe he or she can have a chat with others when all that is being done is someone reading a set of lines . see in the Witcher 3 Geralt had established relationships with the NPC characters and people like Yennifer and Triss who made it seem real and enjoyable . its time for Bioware to stop making play land games and make real RPG Games That's because Witcher is a novel and all the charaters already have a histoty. Geralt is not someone you made, you simply choose his path. BW games let you become the hero and shape relationships your own way. I prefer creating my own story. Don't get me wrong, I love Witcher, but it's Geralt's story, not mine. I don't get this asinine logic. >it's my story No it's the developers story. You just get to pick a path same like witcher huh?

He can be a jerk or nice and end up with the girl of your choice, but both are past relationships you don't get to form yourself. In BW games you can choose your background, looks and sex,k and you meet the people you choose to have in your life as a LI and friends.

I doubt we will have something like this:
But I'm hoping for some banter. Although ME didn't have much of it before.

I hope we do not need this (the youtube video) because the banter in ME:A will hopefully fire on its own and more frequently this time. But I would like them to put the same amount of banter in andromeda as they did in DAI, with that I agree.

ME3 already had combat banter, so I can't see this being any different. My personal favorite is when taking Liara and Garrus to Surkesh. Shepard: Careful, there goes the next Shadow Broker. Garrus: I think he was muttering 'T'Soni' the whole time. Liara: Not funny. Didn't you only get that if you had lotsb installed? Yes, but I'm speaking more on the mechanical side of it. Regardless of the requirements to get the banter, it at least has that sort of banter.

Once again you fail with your logic.

So a character you make to look like you and act like you is equal to a character written by an author who gives you little options to do anything but be nice or a jerk and end up with the choice of 2 girls? I only fail with the logic you have invented in your head, and no matter what anyone tells you, you will not see it their way and from your posts you are not for anything good about MEA or BW at all, so I am done talking to you.

It's not your story and will never be your story. Variations is all you get.

For example I love playing table tops and there are various type of scenarios and games, some have set characters and others offer character creation in a set world with certain rules, the same can be applied to video games.

I love the party banter in Dragon Age games, it's something that Mass Effect really needs to add more of, hoping they do so with Andromeda. I agree......BUT, ME has never really been about party/squad mates, Not like Dragon Age anyway, so there likely won't be much of it. DA borrowed a lot of Mass Effect though. I would not be sad if romances in MEA were handled a bit like in Dragon Age Origins for example where it isn't tied to the main story progression so you can actually get the sense of being in a relationship with someone over the course of the game. It made me smile in Inquisition when I got Cassandra's romance scene midway through the game and then during exploration the party would start to make remarks about the way my character and Cassandra looks at each other and stuff. I do like the story-ties with how the endgame triggers the romance culmination -- they should keep that, but they should also allow banter and party-development to be more free now that we have so much open-endedness.

That would be better than how the trilogy handled romances.....or even how it handled friendships. And I loved Cass' romance in DA:I. Ironbulls comments on it during party banter amused me to no end.

I could only hear most of it by manually triggering the banter with cheat engine. Good thing the community was able to "fix" it. There's even a mod on nexus that supposedly triggers banter every 10 minutes consistently, but I haven't tested it.

On the Nexus, I'm hoping there is a straight up throwback elevator which is optional, but instigates party banter each time. I don't care what anybody says, I fucking LOVED the elevators in ME1
