What Do the Kett Want?

I didn't interpret it as necessarily being escorted at gunpoint against our will, I was thinking it was more as a sign that they could trust us. Also, I feel like the way they spoke about us seemed very respectful and formal, it didn't seem very antagonistic. That's all just how I see it though.

The Kett are just doing their thing, we should be asking what do the human invaders want?

He was held at gunpoint. And it seems to me that the Angara had a previous encounter with humans because they knew what Scott was and that he was a Pathfinder. Maybe the first contact between human and Angara wasn't a good one. Sloane Kelley's crew maybe? So I think they were using an overabundance of caution with Scott until they spoke with him and discovered he meant no harm to them?

Me too. Because they weren't actually welcoming Ryder with open arms. There are so many little things in there that need answers.

Every story needs a good villain, so I've been thinking about the Kett and their leader, the Archon, a lot lately. I've been wondering why exactly we are fighting them.
I've seen people mention how they think they are fighting for control of the Remnant technology due to the scene in the recent cinematic trailer where it appears that the Archon is hooked up to some sort of Remnant thing. This seems plausible, because clearly the Remnant technology is important if both of us want to get it.
Another thing I've been thinking about is that I think the Kett are enemies with the Angara to. The Angara seem peaceful to us, judging by the way they greet us in the trailer and the fact that we supposedly are getting a Angara squadmate, who will probably fight the Kett with us.
So I think that the Kett are a warmongering species who want to destroy everyone else and take all the Remnant technology to become the dominant species, kind of like the Protheans were.
What do you think the Kett are after?
