Sure, I don't mean to say that a pro-MW faction is inconsistent, impossible to imagine, etc. It just sounds extremely silly to me; hence the 'absurd'.

Sure, it sounds silly for me to, but for me it is more that I never got the point of pro-XX factions anyway. It always sounds stupid and it almost always end badly with dead people.

If cerberus were involved the nomad would asphyxiate the passengers; with the Tempest taking ever opportunity to eject the crew out of the airlock.

Control-F'ed for 'Ceberus' on the last couple of pages, didn't find anything. That's because you should've Control-F'ed for 'Ce rberus'. (sorry) Haha, that might actually explain it..

I'm almost shocked by the amount of people who don't want or think Cerberus is involved. I think you guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment, even though you really shouldn't. Given what we know about Cerberus, it would be bad writing that they wouldn't be involved in the Andromeda Initiative in some way. I'm gonna repost something I wrote in another thread: What is Cerberus? They are a human splinter group, who's goal is the advancement of humanity at whatever cost. That's the quick and simple definition of them right? Well there are a few things I would like to note, based on what we've seen so far: 1. Based on his bio Alec Ryder became interested in Artificial Intelligence as a means of human advancement.2. Cora Harper shares the same last name as The Illusive Man. She is also Alec's 2nd in command. 3. The Andromeda Initiative is not a branch of the human military.4. The Human Arc is operated by an AI named SAM. The chances of all these things being a coincidence, is very slim. Given the experiments we saw Cerberus run in ME1 and ME2, going to another galaxy to discover new technology, would be the kind of thing Cerberus would leap at without hesitation. yeah but we don't have to worry about any bad writing in this game because bioware never have any bad writing in any of their games. you only have to look at mass effect and its ending, which were perfectly written and not bad at all.

If TIM sent his own daughter on a mission that involved colonizing hostile alien worlds without weaponized vehicles I am just gonna laugh....

I figured it would be that for a while now honestly, and Cerberus being involved or at the very least, infiltrating this entire scenario, seems like an Illusive Man move.
My only question is will Cerberus be the bad guys here...or will all bets be off once they hit Andromeda?

I'm with Mad flavor on this .....it just smells of Cerbrus.. And think about it TIM made the SR2 ...the Tempest resembles the SR2 .....no ship in the Alliance or otherwise in the milky way has that same technology. I think it would be a great plot thread for Cerbrus to be involved, It will add shock value to the story. Could explain how our Ryder is in command eventually and Cora's demotion. Not to mention getting rid of Cerberus once and for all. Cora was the SECOND in command under Alec Ryder. Once he is out of the way she would be LEADER not us. So Alec Ryder gets spaced, turned to sludge, taken over by alien, or whatever they plan. In the following events we find out The Illusive Man is Cora's father... our character may find this revolting (only knowing the hype about Cerberus)... Edit: This may disturb: Then Cora is given DEMOTION... WE RULE NOW! As to Cora....you will obey or SAM will kill you by bursting your brain out on the floor on my order. Ah. Yep. There we go. No more control for you Cerberus. R.I.T. not R.I.P.

I'd prefer that this sort of thing be left to a subtle nod with no real factoring into the narrative, like, for instance, if there was a brief reference to Cord Hislop Aerospace being a major contributor to the Initiative, which would actually make more sense than Cerberus itself being directly involved, considering when this begins.

I see a lot of people making the argument that the Andromeda expedition doesn't make sense without Cerberus involed. Well now, Cerberus has become synonymous for not making any sense , and putting it together with something that also doesn't make sense won't make them cancel eachother out. It just adds up to double nonsense.
Even without the above, overusage and story decay are still going to be a thing with three games, three novels and a whole lot of comic books and spinoff works.

I'm predicting that the folks on the human side of the AI were once a part of Cerberus...back in it's black ops days. Philosophical differences between PapaRyder and TIM and the direction the latter was taking the organization resulted in a split. Basically team Hyperion believed advancement of humanity was best achieved by mutual cooperation between the various races vs. what we already know was TIM's crazy ass approach. I don't believe the similarities we're seeing are merely coincidence. As for Cora Harper, if she really is TIM's daughter, maybe she realized what her father was and chose to follow PapaRyder's vision. I would find it odd that TIM didn't have at least a few agents infiltrate the ranks to either sabotage the endeavor (a good reason for the Hyperion to arrive late and also a good reason for Cora to be bypassed by the Ryder twins for command) or recruit individuals who become like-minded down the road.

I just couldn't take him seriously. He was a big joke to me, but a useful big joke, with access to a lot of resources and information. As for the weapons, I gave up trying to make sense of it all in the Ishimura. But more and more Bioware are putting themselves in a position that will require some serious explaining. Ha, who am I kidding...

For me, the only human organization/corporation with the resources to get behind the AI was Eldfell Ashland Energy.
From WIKI, In 2137, the Ashland Energy Corporation successfully extracted helium-3 from Saturn's atmosphere, beginning a new era of fusion research. On the wave of this success, they merged with Eldfell Construction to vertically integrate the two companies' strengths. Ashland would recover the raw materials for energy production, and Eldfell would build power plants, refineries, and pipelines on nearby worlds to distribute Ashland's products to the consumer. Eldfell-Ashland Energy was born.
As EAE's reach extended, they absorbed companies to create a "cradle-to-grave corporate experience" for their employees. Today, subsidiaries such as Second Star Living recruit colonists to staff EAE facilities, and the education group Excelsior provides job-related education opportunities to provide EAE stations with a qualified incoming workforce. Water, power, food, shipping -- EAE provides them all. If EAE wants to put a colony on a garden world, they are able to do so and keep 90% of services performed completely in-house, creating consumers out of its own employees. Its primary revenue stream, however, continues to come from mining base elements like hydrogen, helium-3, and eezo and trading in their futures.

As I said in another post, it makes little sense if they weren't involved at all, since Cerberus figured so heavily into ME2/ME3.
Now, to what extent? I think it's fair that TIM knew about the A:I - and some Cerberus moles and/or sympathizers out of the thousands of humans on the Ark exist. Was Cerberus behind the A:I - doubt it.
Been there, done that, of course, but a couple of side quests related to them make sense, at least, and connects the ME Universe. But I assume Ryder will snuff them out pretty fast and move on to the Big Bad.
I'd be surprised if the new AI or if DadRyder was in cahoots with them, in a twist. Not warranted, we'll have new threats in Andromeda but an echo of the past is fitting.

A- My fervent wish is for Cerberus to be Dead! Failing, that, to stay in the MW galaxy. B- It's a possible "Plan B" and Cerberus provided significant funding to get some of their people inside.
However, from what Bio has said in the past, it's strictly a new player that got the Ai project going and C is not in the picture.

I hope not, Cerberus is the one thing I liked the least in the ME games. Only time I could stand them was in ME1 and for the rest of the games I couldn't wait to be done with them or tell the Illusive Man where to go.

Anytime Cerberus is in a part of Mass Effect, it almost instantly becomes dumber... making less sense.
