I need to get that emote. Want to do the "put them to sleep/throw candy on them" troll combo. Always makes me laugh when I see players do that. I kept trying to do this earlier, forgetting that I was playing comp at the time Haha! Awesome!

I need to vent a bit - I was playing Mercy on attack in Volskaya and was healing from the back line. Some of our team went forward, but I stayed with the Reinhardt to heal him to full health. An enemy Roadhog shows up and hits Reinhardt once, then spots me and starts walking towards me. What does the Reinhardt on our team do? He starts spamming "Hello!" and watches as I desperately try to flee from the Roadhog and doesn't make a single attempt to assist me. The Roadhog was standing RIGHT NEXT TO HIM and he didn't swing his hammer once.
After the Roadhog killed me I immediately switched to D!va; I'm so tired of playing Mercy and always* be dumped by the other players.
*obviously this does not always happen, but it has happened quite a lot recently.

If you still want to play as "support" then there is still Piñata Zenyatta. Guy deals more damage than Soldier or Reaper, quite helpful when your team doesn't give a duck about defending you.

In the past when I started to play Ana, I accidentally did that. Was trying to hit Genji, and Mercy flew in front me to heal somone. I ended up shooting her. I laughed, and figured "oh well". Just had to roll with it. "Go for it Battle Angel! You're powered up! Get in there!"

I have no sympathy for someone who calls football Soccer! Whatever you call it, it sucks I've seen Mercy get nanoboosted a few times in my "career". When Mercy or Lucio get nano boosted it's because they got in the way though. For Hanzo to get nano boosted when he's nowhere near the front lines, it has to be intentional especially if it's done more than once.

Even if he just stood there, Reinhardt can be an effective barrier between you and Roadhog if you dance around him. My "tired of this shit" character that I switch to after I had enough is Pharah.

I was just so stunned by his behavior that I failed to think it through - I mean, it's common enough that my teammates flee when an enemy shows up, but this was the first time someone just stood there and watched me get murdered. I've refused to play Mercy since; I will go back to her once I've cooled down a bit. Also, how do you guys feel about the whole Bastion+Reinhardt+Mercy's damage boost? On console it can be quite effective on some maps, but I can't understand why anyone would want to play like that, must be extremely boring, especially for the Reinhardt. A team did that combo against my team on Dorado, but since they were the ones supposed to push the payload they didn't really get very far (we just switched characters and contested the sh*it out of it).

The Bastion/Reinhardt/Mercy combo generally is easy to break if you have a team that knows to switch to Junkrat/Pharah/Tracer to beat it.
Junkrat/Pharah can break down Rein's shield pretty quickly while being safe from the hail of bullets or possibly get around it to bombard the Bastion and Mercy. Tracer can go around it and plant a pulse bomb to instantly kill the Bastion(and maybe get Mercy in the process).
Genji can also turn the Bastion against the Reinhardt's shield with reflect.
As far as healers go, I personally like Lucio if I'm in a pug game because he can handle himself better than Mercy can if my team is being stupid and not protecting me.
Though my personal "I've had enough of this shit" hero is McCree and just left click headshot everybody.

Roadhog is good for breaking through Reinhardt's shield and then hook Bastion out of position.
As healers go, I generally tend to prefer Zen if I'm pugging, that way I can deal damage and heal. I'd rather play Mercy though, especially since I got the Witch skin.
But when bitches need to die, that's when Reaper comes out.

I am curious on what drives people to playing Overwatch over and over. I am at level 90. On top of that I got to level 42 during the Beta. Clearly I haven't played that much but I find it really tiring and I take regular breaks after playing it for a couple of days in a row. The last time I played it, I saw Lijiang Tower and I had to Alt+F4.
The game does have solid combat mechanics, amazing controls, it is very well-balanced and original. But boy, it is repetitive as hell.

For me, it is playing few different characters and the drive to do better and better, to get gold medals, to get "epic" on the achievement cards, to get that PotG. If I feel that I'm playing bad this day, I have the drive to play and play until I figure out why I'm doing bad and do better. Starcraft 2 for example is much more tiring for me to play. 1 positional mistake against Terran drop and the game is over. Enemy Zerglings get past my Bob Zealot standing at the opening at the wall (YOU HAD ONE JOB!)? Game over. Didn't see the Spire for a Mutalisk switch? A painful game over. In Overwatch I can screw up few times in a game and still have a chance to win, to do better, at least below pro level. It is much less stressful to play.

I wish I could get better. For some reason I get to somewhat decent skill level pretty quick, but then I realize it's pretty much my skill cap. I like ranked games because people try their best to win there, but being stuck near the bottom of the ladder in combination with salt all over the place sucks out the fan out of everything pretty quick.

Find some friends to play with them. The best matchups are with duo-queue and six-stack, you will enjoy it immensely more, and team dynamics are the core strength of Overwatch. If you are serious about improving, I've read the following advice in Overwatch University sub-reddit: Play 20-30 hours each with the following characters: 1. Reinhardt: learn how to play him well, notice the positionings on all the players, know when to shield, when to charge, when to push, when to back off. Reinhardt is the most important character in the current meta. 2. Lucio: while mechanically he isn't difficult, he requires knowledge of positioning and game flow. Try to lead and call shots, be positive and do not criticise teammates who screw up. Learn the economy of ultimates (if you are pairing with a Zen, one battle you ult, one battle he, expect enemy Reaper ultimates, etc). 3. S76: The basic DPS hero, can't affect much Reinhardt shields so you must play around him. Get the mechanical skill that requires you to play him proficiently. Know how to pick your targets and when and where to ult. With experience with those 3 and all the skill they require, you should be able to pick up and play any role you fancy. You will have the most important skill IMO: game sense, which is more important IMO than mechanical skill that can be easily learned with some practice. EDIT: found the thread: check out the first reply. Here it is.

Well, thanks for reply, but as I said it doesn't work. I have some idea on these points, but when it actually matters I just go full derp. I guess you are playing on instinct. Actually I have the same problem that prevents me from performing better in shooters. In Starcraft I can circumvent this problem by having an extremely detailed and practiced plan for the game, in shooters you can't actually do that. What I suggest is probably to slow down and think about your every move, instead of going on instinct. But I'm shooting in the dark here...

The PTR patch notes have both her barriers being nerfed by 20% right now. Which I imagine it going to hurt her a decent amount in normal competitive play. Not sure about top level tournament play where she's one of the most picked heroes right now.
