What's-his-name whom I quoted earlier said it was spoken as an official language in Switzerland (which is true), and I was expanding on that.

Hmm, that's what I thought but her lines are in German aren't they? So she has a tie there, which is what I was figuring. Googled it and saw the German is one of the official languages of Switzerland though so maybe not, now that you mention it.

I just picked up this game up on the PS4. I dont really know what i'm supposed to be doing. Team synergy seems important but the teams I keep getting put in seem to choose whatever character they like.

This game feels like Team Fortress 2 only a lot more tactical.

But if you care even a little bit about winning, that makes you a sweaty tryhard with no life who spends his entire day on the game, because "we just play to have fun", and fuck people who want to try and coordinate us to try and win. Sorry we aren't Master-ranked comp players like you, bro.

That's an amalgam of the typical responses I see when I play QM and try to give people some direction when we're losing. I thought the exaggerated and over the top nature of the statement would have made it clear that it's not a sincere response to anyone in this thread.

Team synergy is very important. Unfortunatly, there are a great deal of players that don't see the game that way - the way it was designed - and instead do what they want.

As you've just bought the game, I'm assuming you know little of the ins and outs of the different heroes and maps. That's normal, so don't worry about picking the right hero right now. Play to have fun. Get enjoyment out of it. But, whilst doing that, always keep in mind what is happening. What you're doing, what the enemy are doing, what heroes are working well/not well together, et cetera. That will only make you better at the game.

I've found that players get the most enjoyment out of this game when the players in your match are playing 'right' - with the exception of playing with a full group of your friends and you don't really care about winning (full team of the same hero sort of stuff). In order to be paired up with these people, you need to understand how things work, and with a little luck, you'll be grouped with them.

Also, I cannot stress this enough. Using a mic helps massively! All you need it for is to shout out where the enemy are - "Zenyatta low on health", "Reaper above us", "Tracer flanking right". That sort of thing. Even if no one else is talking, they might be listening, and they might just pay attention.
