Well, I think after 8 tries I can call it a victory But I'm afraid I won't submit any video for it, and I tell you why. Second to last run was the best, and I recorded it. The thing is... I missed the extraction by one step, literally... I was too distracted to realize that I had 5 second to step into EZ... I was soo close, had good objectives and all that stuff... My idiocy costed me the video. Fortunatelly my official run was slower only by 1 second lol. Nevertheless, I will upload my video from previous attempt, just for myself. It was just better in every way, performance, objectives etc.

Fat Turian BUILD
This is my build if anyone's interested. I modified it a little, I skipped 3rd rank in Marksman because longer duration wasn't necessary, as I was using one shot Widow, so I needed it only for boss units most of the time. So I could use concussive shot more often for tech bursts.

Don't know what else to tell you, it was fun, fat Turian is always fun to play as. Widow is a beast, Vancouver isn't my favourite map but I still enjoy it. Pretty good warm-up before Ash I suppose, if I decide to use Mantis again Only easier enemy... and map...

PS. And yes, no Geth Scanner. I'm a scrub and I decided that additional 3 ops packs will help me more than enhanced vision. I was so used to GS in my earlier runs that I thought I couldn't do anything without it. Now it doesn't bother me that much

PS 2. DistigousForest I read your post in Themed Challenges thread and I agree with your opinion. Also I saw TTT N5.II video... well, thanks for the suggestion but that's kind of gameplay I'm unfamiliar with Confident, quick and more importantly - intelligent. So my mind couldn't think about setting up traps for phantoms lol

Let me explain my thought process to you For me personally, using fully specced Marksman ability for one shot weapons is somewhat pointless. I mean, that headshot bonus is very tempting and all, but I'm just a scrub and I was mostly focused on body shots. So I made sure to have only 3 ranks in it. After my unsuccessful extraction, I decided to skip rank 3rd in order to have shorter duration, so I could use CS sooner. After all the main reason I had Marksman at all was to have 2 shot Widow for boss units. I'd like you to prove me that I'm wrong though And of course you could show your build and explain what's what, I'd appreciate it


Oh Doc, you will love it. Take your sweet time and enjoy the ride With her Cerberus felt like a joke, I mean it. Also when I first time saw your new avatar I thought it was Saruman My mobile screen trolled me hard haha. Congrats on your 5.II run, very nice indeed!

Speaking from the perspective of a person who during those runs curses a lot, wants to give up very often, I can tell you one thing - you won't give up that easly I mean, I'm always pissed off when I fail because of my stupidity (watch N6.I missed extraction), but after some time something inside me tells me - go on, try one more time, maybe it will be better. Then I give in to it and try again, and again.... Also let me make this clear - it's nice to have those times, but you can't quite compare them. Every game is different. You can't mod objectives to be all the same for everyone. So one person could have 3x pizza on Goddess and finish it in 30 mins, other one 3x Devices or Targets/Hacks etc and barely make it through in 48. Does it make that second run invalid or less impressive? I think not. So be proud of yourself for finishing those challenges and don't worry about the times, really. I know that there are some people with their ePeen big af, but screw them I say. Take your time and enjoy those runs as much as you can, that's what I'm gonna do for sure And I'm still waiting for Ash submission

Oh man... you got me here... I'm practicing my skillz for N7 platinum run what's the better place than do it on gold haha. But seriously, I chose Disruptor because I wanted to stop Banshees in one shot (1 Widow shot + CS sometimes). So thanks to that I had time to work on mooks and Ravegers or Brutes. I admit, I didn't even think about using Incendiary ammo on this one. Probably you're right, it could be faster that way, but it's too late now

What do you mean you don't need to stop Banshees? Are you mad? HERESY no, but joking aside, I'm not you and I never will be. I need my safety bufor as big and comfy as possible. It's too late now man, stop terrorizing me

Also since you're Drell Infiltrator expert, I could use some advice on N6.II Next of Kin. Warp ammo for Valiant looks like a no-brainer. But I'll let you speak

As plat has like 10 (ok 5) times the armour amount gold has and not so much more shield, i m not sure i understand muahmuah 's "inci rounds for gold and Disruptor for plat" advice ?!?

Yes, I know, but I meant something different. As I see MPApr2012 is a bit worried about his times. That's why I said that there's no point in comparing times. Because every run will probably have different objectives for example. So whether you finish your run in sub 30 mins or over 40, it doesn't matter really. To have compareable times you'd have to mod objectives to be the same for everyone, and yet you couldn't truly compare times done on PC and done on consoles. Personally I can't imagine playing this game with the controller, it looks so much more difficult to me.

So yeah, it's a fantastic thing to have a whole web page dedicated to challenges, and to have a goal like doing Ash sub 40 or something. But even if you don't succed it won't make you a scrub, understand now?

Personally I'm at that point, where when I see devices or targets on wave 3, I quit. Then I restart the challenge. I lost too many hours, being angry and cursing this game. I almost lost all of the joy from it. So it's cold calculation but it's working for me. And you can call me quitter or cheater for that, but I don't care. It's my experience and that's what make me enjoy this series

I went with the standard TSol build with Conc shot. Here it is. Phasic so I could one shot Marauders and do massive damage to Banshee barriers and Conc shot to do some work on them while I'm killing other shit. I creased RoF is nice since reload speed gets quicker too. I hate Vancouver  so i dont play it much and therefore am not the best at forcing spawns there like other maps. I didn't get good spawns to nuke and got targets wave 10 and they didn't switch even though I caught a Marauder in the first target so that took forever since that was my last missile.

I wasn't saying your build or thought process is wrong, just different. I'd have never thought of specing him like that. We probably have different mindsets/playstyles so that's why our builds would differ. I skip proxy mine because the debuff when equipping heavy weapons doesn't bleed over into the MM bonus as much as I'd like it to. To me this challenge was one of the easier ones but getting targets on either wave 3 or 10 can turn it from a mid length solo into a grind.
