Basically 'No Armored Compartments' and that's about it? It'll give me a chance to get rid of some low level crap and hopefully play without lag. Yay! You can use AC only on Platinum. The medals are requred only on silver and gold. Don't think I've ever used AC before

All you need to know is there.
Basically 'No Armored Compartments' and that's about it? It'll give me a chance to get rid of some low level crap and hopefully play without lag. Yay! No modded objectives, but maybe that isn't a thing for you. It was a thing for me difficulty-wise on Platinum for a long time, but this series is changing me as a player. Anyone who has played a fair bit with me, knows I have a strong dash of LeeeeeeeROY JENKINS in me. This gets me downed like Jenkins a fair bit, especially on Wave 1. Now, working these solos, especially doing pushups... I see that I am starting to do the things that better players do. Kite shorter, turn and fight more and always keep something in fear or dying. Use soft cover like your life depends on it, because it does. Be mindful of approach vectors, check your six, be situationally aware. Looking ahead in the series, I will struggle with several of them. I will also keep getting better, because I see improvement already and it just comes from practice. Silver will be very fun and relaxing. If you want the challenge, go Gold and burn through your IA4 supplies like a Krogan drinks Ryncol

So, two more screens. I'm not sure any of these are worth uploading the videos tbh, all of them are just ok N2.3N3.1The "Chooser of the Slain" was the easiest and most fun of the series so far. I got Targets Targets Devices. Big map sure helps on those devices. The Pole-Dancer Sentinel is OP

Shit, this one hurt. Where to start. So I decided I was going to play this weekend, maybe even attempt N7.I. I fire up the game; say fuck it I'll give it a go. since everyone to play the game with are in a match. Take my trusty Engineer to Glacier to presumably get my ass handed to me. Wave 1 and 2 are uneventful. Actually glitch the hack wave 3. Get 5WS, sweet. 6 gels, 4 ops going into wave 6. Targets. Fuck. Of course the Phantoms are not charging me, but hiding Two missile wasted. Go down a lot wave 7 & 8. No gel, no ops packs. All the medals were done by wave 8 so I am free to kill as I please. Fuck I'm screwed; It's late waves and no gel or ops. Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge through wave 9. Get a great escort wave 10, nuke most stuff stuck with the Atlases by the old control room. Wave 11 I manage to keep goons at bay and hold the basement well enough, but I bailed on it too early. With two Atlases and some goons bearing down I bailed to EZ, then the Control room, get back to the EZ with 16 seconds left and have to hide behind the box just outside/across from the EZ. Do some fantastic dodging to not get sliced and diced in the thin corridor and I'm estatic I'm going to beat this thing and I. GET. DOWNED. WITH 0:00 ON THE TIMER. Literally got downed and was revived before I hit the floor. Turned off my box and went to bed.

As I said before this is the most difficult challenge of the 7th tier and one of the most difficult of them all, especially cuz W6. TBH I think W6 Cerb Glacier Gold is the most difficult objective wave out of all the challenges. But you'll do it when you get some good objectives.

and I'm estatic I'm going to beat this thing and I. GET. DOWNED. WITH 0:00 ON THE TIMER. Literally got downed and was revived before I hit the floor. Tsk. Bugger. Yip, Alfonse's right, gotta be erm... a PoTY or somesuch. Can't blame ya. Commend you on some impressive self control and restrain bud, to be able stop at just turning it off. My side of the things, similarly, i had a first good crack at the last tier missions over weekend that was. My impressions this far N7.1 the closests one i got so far is W10 targets with no rockets left so i just bled out. Have bailed on a couple of occasions pulling multiple devices, couldn't be bothered. The hardest part i discovered was to not get carried away (and downed) chasing grabs in the begining. But I have to admit i quite like the overall N7.1 setup, something something masochists right, but dis got good dynamics, good combo, some rolepay vibes (keep this playing in the background). and anyways it's been so long since the last challenges that doesn't involve some large/open map. so yep, enjoying it overall, in my top five for the series for sure And speaking of large maps, N7.2. In one word, boring. theonly entertainment is geth ai going wonky at times. think got through to wave 8 or so, some good objectives definetely would help. also that fucking pillar blocking my cryo blast all the time N7.3 respecced my Voldept i had him full fitness for some unknown reason. went for a first attempt and got downed by some smug marauder within the first 15 seconds of it. Alt-F4. haven't realised how rusty my Vol-fu got, gonna need to practice a bit. That and the damned Ballmer peak are going to be conspiring big against me there. Not even gonna try again until the next weekend, just no way i can stay alert and focused for 2 hours normal nights Couple more things, andy_3_913 , give it a go mate. it's fun, and if you don't trust my word listen to muahmuah and all the others, and just look at Qui-Gon GlenN7 who'll be ctacjing up to me, and maybe even Forest, before long. and yea having played with you, trust me you're more than capable of the gold run, however if you wnat to ease your way in the TC world that's perfectly fine just the same. Qui-Gon GlenN7 U N3 yet mate? What's the hold up? N3.1 is indeed a very enjoyable challenge. netted my first 10WS in the series. and no she's not OP, she's just... just perfect! yeah, yeah i know she's op read your comments re N3.2, tell me it was a typo and you're not doing it agains Rippaz? Qui-Gon GlenN7 , saw you mentioning the IA4 up there. I kind found it there's no need to spend level 4 consumables in Gold series, level 3 and even level 2 work just fine. Well, unless you're really pushing for a better time and can't wait to get back in the store for some clickity-click-carpal-syndrome-here-i-come wholesome experience heheh. Oh, and remember, to make the formal submissions in the main TC thread, otherwise they won't go in respective HoF P.S. and that avatar... well i may have overbinged on B5, again, but all i can see is maleshep cosplaying as a Centauri now

I am still on N3.2, only took that first stab at it on Friday. I worked all weekend with TI, Tiny and Monica. It was not as fun as playing ME3, but it did pay better I will have to post my screens and some videos in the proper thread, thanks for the reminder MPApr2012 Edit: IA4... It is not for time. It is for scrub. The Qui-Gon in Glenn stands for "scrub". Use OP consumables liberally to ammend this shortcoming. Edit2: no, unless I got realz confuzzled, N3.2 is Goddess Geth? That's why it's so easy (even though I failed first attempt, it was fast and I barely got touched with a 66653 build)... Dat Decoy lol
Edit3: first try of the day, 40mins and change. Venom is ridiculous, and combined with Decoy this is really a duo.

Hope the recompense was to your satisfaction and you're given opportunity to recover. Yeah right Nice try hehe, and even if we're to accept your assesment, for a second, sad to think where would put me then. Some primordial soup or such. Kinda moot point now, with you aready knocking the challenge off (congrats btw, well done!) but it was this post that sort of alarmed me Had a flawless Gold N3.2 going, Firebase Goddess Gold against Reapers with Salarian Engineer with Venom and Scorpion. Good luck with N3.3, getting all close and presonal with them carebears. Come to think of it, 3.3 was the first challenge that really pushed me out of my comfy keep-them-at-arms-length-ish solo box, right into the phantums stabby embraces.

BTW why don't you post your successful runs in the themed thread? Yeah, good question. Why don't you submit your runs finally? I'd like to watch some of them, see your suffering and mistakes.. bwahahahah As I see it now, our last Jedi is very enthusiastic, to say the least I bet starting N7 series (and soloing in general) for him, was like losing virginity. It suddenly opened a lot of new possibilities for him He turned from look-at-me-I-destroy-pugs-with-lvl1-kits-BONER, to a real player haha. But.. BUTT.. Themed Challenges thread looks like a mess now. A lot of posts and pics with no submissions in them. I mean, I don't mind being excited and sharing some progress along the way, but in my modest opinion, it should be done HERE, in this very thread, which was created with that exact purpose by our BSN Wizard. So get your shiet together Jedi and finally submit your runs in Themed Challenges thread And good luck with the rest of the series!

I will submit everything in the proper thread once I complete N3. Uploading videos will take forever, but I will do that too. That anyone would want to watch my solos in this series is interesting - there isn't much to learn, so it's purely for entertainment. If you are entertained by scrubbery, come and watch Edit: btw, I started this game as a soloist. At first it was because of SP, then it was because I was antisocial, and finally it was because I realized I sucked in my first MP match with others. So, I soloed with KV until I could solo Silver without dying. I was a 10WS silver specialist for a few months. I also spent hours grabbing Pyros at the Firebase White service counter. I still contend that there are some things in PuGs that are way harder than soloing. My level one epeen boner is gone now though - I closed hands on promotions months ago, my N7 is finished at 108 promotions for each class. I do know how to use them all. But I have become trapped in several comfort zones, and this series is definitely breaking those paths for better ones.

Whilst it's nice to have this thread docsteely set up to chinwag and shitpost about the N7 challenge, the TC thread still is legit as, as far as ima concerned, for anything related to them said challenges. Besides, should one vent about some other challenges in this thread, on the same token will it not be considered an uhm... offtopic? I said already though, remember that if you do want to make formal submisssions (and have your name plastered across the HoFs for errone to see), please make them in the TC and HoF threads and be mindful of the format too, pretty sure Smehur has a how-to on the site. It helps the team looking after Prestacious's website and keeping databases/HoFs updated And yeah, i for one, will watch your videos. Always neat to see others expereinces and compare to one's own, even moreso if had played together. If i might suggest though, you upload the N2.1 and N3.1 furst then... then the rest can follow. And that duo on my host, still want that too if that's not to much bother

And that duo on my host, still want that too if that's not to much bother None of that is a bother What is a bother is N3.3 I fall apart on 4 or 7, every time. Today, I actually ratequit, which hasn't happened in a good bit. Jade has some issues with model geometry, so corners of win can be suspect. Edit: 2nd wave 10 devices fail. This is why we mod objectives Hack Hack Devices. I failed to glitch the second hack, survived it with one gel. Entering wave 10, had 4 personal Gold Medals, 3 waves survived, and 3 ops, 4 gels, and 4 rockets left. As in, the shit was all good until. Edit: (to save a double-post) Today has been an interesting experience in failure. I have understood and dealt with my waves 4&7 woes. They are not a problem now, just play smart. The issue now is surviving wave 10. I have completed two objectives now (Targets, Devices) and then died because I was out of goodies. The last failure was funny - I thought wave 7 was wave 8, so when I made wave 8 I instantly regretted the missile I used for convenience. Then I proceeded to burn through the remaining 4 ops packs I had. Wave 9 I played well, didn't die. Nevertheless, Wave 10 mission failed, 40:29, objectives completed including 5 waves survived. My aim was bad in the last one too... If I had recognized the wave status and was on normal targeting (I still had 20 headshots at end of wave 2 and 5 grabs), I would have completed the last one. Another git gud solo. Claymore takes precision and stamina. It is not a weapon I solo with on non-Infiltrators normally, so again this series is practical in our defense of the Milky Way.

Pft. nothin' wrong with doubleposts, trust me. in fact tis kinda nice, almost like talkin wih yourself. oh wait. nevermind. but it also does bump the thread up the top, so all good i says. Curious, are you going after grabs on purpose or do they come naturally? it's a three medal challenge so you'd normally get them headshots/kills/shotgun kills with ease anyway, so no specific need to plan for grabs or such P.S. i like your way of describing what the series is about P.P.S. and another thing wnated to share, it's not directly related to the gameplay per se, and may only be useful to some uber scrubs like me. but. know when to call it. no point in pushing past the critical points along the run if you're approaching them insufficiently equipped (mentally, consumables wise, tired of the game trolling, etc). in most cases it's more productive to accept the failure, cut the losses, get the credits due and start again. saves time and is better for one's mental wellbeing in the long run

Welp... Good advice on quitting when the cards are down. My problem is, I don't know I'm bluffing until it's too late I had two wave 10 fails last night, another successful wave 10 objective with 2 gels wasted by an untimely Phantom bite. ... In other soloing failure: I had a 5 waves survived, 37:49 wave 10 objectives completed White/Reapers/Plat (Justicar/Acolyte(Locust)) going last night, only to fail to survive to make extraction. Basically, yesterday was not my day. I was not on my best game and yet managed to do better on both solos than I had done previously. So, that is my silver lining to a dark and cloudy day. Edit: Today was my day Erm... I was a good shot today! Wave 8, had used 2 ops packs and otherwise flawless. Got stabbed, Mission Failed 28:32. Last enemies on the map, got stupid in the veiled cover of win. Should have used a rocket - I saw it all coming. Regarding grabs, I've been doing them because it is easy on the map, and later challenges will require four personal gold medals so just trying to make that a part of the regimen.

I always play Valkyrie one way - Venom Melee Gasm of Doom. I'm not in any world capable of making that work solo, without days passing by. No patience for that. So, I built the lamest Asari ever. Look at my Shaman build... I want to kill myself just thinking about it. But, but, but... itsa Tech Armour!? I can appreciate the thinking, but to give up... so much? Leaving the glorious melee build for them good times, why not something like say 66644? Quite forgiving and tanky, yet still robust enough, even for them scrubs like me? Done a few gold solo challenges this setup, only "i'm a doctor" left iirc, and it also works perfectly well in team matches too just swap Cyclonics for AM and you're all set edit: yep, that's mah smooth quoting skills at play again to keep our purist pundits happy, and also for luls

Ultimately, she will be rebuilt and that solo revisited... Several of these are actually fun, and not just a stress bucket. All of them are satisfying. The only kits I haven't rebuilt so far for this have been AA and SE. 66653 for them was just fine, but Stasis and Venom respectively have everything to do with that.
