One down...
Nothing much to write home about it here... I'll need to check what objectives I pulled, my mind clearly was elsewhere, cause I can't recall what they were already. Got to wave 11 with no ops packs left, thought if i'd die during extraction wave i'll shitpost about it here. but then had an anxiety attack, could not remember what was required, the 10WS medal or zero death. So started running around the map shitting bricks all around. i nthe end got a bit early to LZ, got surrounded, and shield gated as the counter reached to 0:00

I'm a bad person, double posting. I have reached N4.2, just finished that damned Hydra in 30:49. Wave 3 Targets, I get the 2nd Prime clustered nicely and let it rain Boogie Grenades That switched the target to Rocket Troopers, which spawned nicely nearby and lonesome. Pretty darn good. Then 5 waves survived. Wave 6, Devices. I say, ok. One ops pack. Wave 7, they got me once or twice. Wave 8, they got schooled. Wave 9, they got rocketed (very effective, but no ks ) Wave 10, Pizza, both spawned near LZ. Got to rocket kill the double Primes to close the wave. Wave 11 typical shenanigans, but I got out with a few gels and that's a good day. Also, one of my better times in this series Edit: oh crap. Four Gold Medals.... I better check on that, frakk. Edit 2: Hooray! headshots, kills, tech kills, and pistol kills. When I finish N4.3, I'll upload submissions again. Congrats on 4.1 and 4.2, bud! Bring on 4.3, that's Goddess again aight? Frankly did not care for the 4th Tier myself. maybe cause I completely forgotten about grabs as a legit medal, so was stressing out unnecessarily, my KS skills leave a lot to be desired.
SenorZanahoria, on a similar token, congrats on knocking Tier 3 off! Aand with that 10WS on 3.1 icing on the cake. my second favourite challenge in the series. something to watch tonight I now have

Frankly did not care for the 4th Tier myself. maybe cause I completely forgotten about grabs as a legit medal, so was stressing out unnecessarily, my KS skills leave a lot to be desired. Interestingly, so far 4th tier has been very easy for me, and the Fury solo on Glacier only has two potential hiccups - 4th Gold Medal will be tricky for me too, as it is very unlikely I will 10WS any solo, thus I will need KS and Grabs. The other trick with Glacier - good objectives. It is not Goddess though And it is the map I have soloed most. Ought to be fun. Nice job on 10WS! Living on the edge is better than dying on it

I like the Scimitar in a sentimental sort of way, but I cannot even mention the other gun's name without feeling a chill up my spine. I have become quite frustrated with 5.2 I play the Hunter alot, and that is part of my problem. Crutch Falcon player. So, without any stagger, and the least reliable pistol in the game... I am failing mightily, in a not-good sort of way. I have watched several of your successful videos. @thetechnoturian was quite incredible really, just awesome. That's a high bar, so I watched the videos available in my "time range" and still... Aaargh. I had to pug Drell Adept to get it out of my system. Even with bad lag (5HS wtflolhuh???) the mighty DA would not be denied his rightful place on top the scoreboard, with all 6 rockets in his trenchcoat unused - Hydra has had enough devastation lately. Still, I am a little lost.

I really became comfortable with the hunter executioner combo. 3 in subnet to catch phantom, and reload hide with incinerate or the net (on phantom).
In the corner of win on reactor, it s pretty cool (i subnet the floor too). But kiting can be a pain on reactor, u can stick to cover everywhere. On host executioner is a pretty realiable pistol for me

I tried to trap Phantoms whenever possible with Sub-net and use it for headshots as well and with Disruptor rounds there were lots and lots of Tech Bursts.

I hadn't considered using Power Amp. Without penetration mod, I didn't think Disruptor Ammo would be all that useful. Hmm, I will give it a shot in a bit.

Without penetration mod, I didn't think Disruptor Ammo would be all that useful. Why wouldn't it be? It's one bullet with high damage so armor damage penalty doesn't do much in the grand scheme of things, plus you get less shield gate penalty with DA.

disruptor ammo is indeed good, remmeber it staggers goons too. incinerate panics non-shields, and think staggers non-charging goons briefly. so doesn SN. remember to cast your net not direct, most will try to dodge but on the ground/walls as a trap (took me way too long to mind that). and lulz aside, if you're not trying to be efficient or pushing for time much then explosive ammo is actually quite useful, especially so with carebears, you just need to plan ahead to take cook off time into account and plan for that aoe stagger

Yep, could have swapped for the VI (and i guess for the cranial damage instead of hvb) as a good way to capitalise even further on headshots. One could argue though if Vorcha are capable of keeping steady aim or even stay still long enough for such build to be lore-friendly. in my head the idea was that Hunter does need to exploit weaknesses, but he ain't no sharpshooter. Stagger them, cause tem panic, immobilise and then quickly go for a kill. A bodyshot or headshot (so bloody hard not to melee though) should not really matter. With my aim ain't that great either i normally need a scope, or a shotgun, to pull the headshots off consistently anyway. But if i know me back when i was doing this i, most likely, went for the TVI out of being precious about my low supplies and also for the versatility of it. however, as per above BPP is of very limited use for the challenge, so that ruled versatility aspect out. and while i do have quite a few cases where TVI is preferable over the amps in this particular case, i'd rather opt for pistol amps for the less stress Anyways, back then, the takeaway from the challenge was indeed that quirky, slightly revised, build. Been using it in my normal rotation since, sans BPP of course, and it works fine (trolling carebears doesn't get old) in gold and is different enough to be quite entertaining overall. And yeah i will most likely redoing this challenge once (if) i'm done with the series one of my favourites

*bump* back onto the frontpage with ya pretty plox. We are not done yet My first serious attempt (and fail) at Teriyaki... With the ESO double events' slog* finally out of the way i'm back to the still unfished business i have around here. Feeling a tad slow and rusty for any serious N7.1 attempts thought i'd give it was time to try N7.3 instead. in the end it's unavoidable so might as well get on with it and leave some fun for later. plus being a weekend meant i would not be feeling as drained and exhausted as i do after days in the office. So went for a bit of a warm up, to get used to the voll iballs silly fov/perspective again. Hm... In the hindsight, i probably really should have done that back when i was grinding voli waves challenges. but again back then i was nowhere near to pull gold solos consistenly. Ah well All in all wasn't too bad, and made feel it is not totally undoable in the end. So once again, perseverance and good objectives lottery will be the key. Also kinda confirmed a couple things i expected i'd be struggling with. Like ravagers crossfire for once. Well, that exactly what got me there, took two to the face from one Ravager instead of shieldboosting instictively rolled back to be greeted by the other one who sneaked around in the meantime. Then, there's double banshees of course. Well, i'm not good or patient enough to deal with them so that means the cleanup of 5,8, and 9 all get a rocket. and if i'm to use any emergency ones like i had to during this run on 5 kinda means i'm quite assuredly screwed with/if the targets on wave 10. Then there was Biotic Orbs, pleased with how much utility they offer for this run combined with the Incendies, even overtaking stasis in frequncy used, and also frustrated with how they impaired my vision. think it may be my eyesight getting wonkier, but the blue flashing lights combined with the blue overtones of the map, combined with a skillfully misplaced stasis meant there were moments i was blinder then raging/fortified krogan in the White's whiteout. So who else is we have in the (semi)active running then? is it just DF, QGG, and me? DistigousForest , i skimmed through your posts, but sort of lost track have you done 7.2 yet? Qui-Gon GlenN7 , curious what set up are going with for Ash?

I am going for full ignore setup on Ash No, really. I give her a call once or twice a day, but when we don't hit it off I rocket through wave 6 and beat streets. I feel like 7.2 will be relatively easy for me... I am not a great Javstepper, but I should have had 10ws on that solo way back when. Cloak and Black Widow should be something I can do reasonably well, despite the 10WS qualification. Just need patience. 7.1 I am working on. 66644 build, AP ammo. Missed 5WS on first try on a very cheesy Nemesis double-team at the end of the wave. Tried Cryo after that for kicks, but too slow. Teriyaki? I like it better than the Scimitar And I LIKE the Scimitar. Oh you meant Ariake. Pffft. ... With Ash, I have gone full Tech Burst route, with double piercing. After getting grenaded to death too many times, I added the Thermal Scope. Need to respecc AR for emergency shields, the DPS ain't cutting it with my questionable aim and its CD. So, use in emergency only is the new plan, and just shoot-ConShot, and I need to power cancel my reload a lot better. Watched Pfeff, I'll never be that fast. Watched muahmuah, and I'll never be that accurate over time... But that is the example on video I will try to emulate. 10WS on that solo is pretty remarkable to me.

Too slow, eh uhmm... isn't it kinda whole point? bah, i chose to read it as a pun intended. well played mate, well played! on a serious note, i'm also going for cryo there mainly for two reasons, - no kill stealing for SMG kills and tech explosions to help with tech kills medal. oh and i tried to hipster it out with no GS but with extra ops whatever gear is called, that was a mistake. made grabs much harder to get for, lsoing extra ops packs while chasing them. *shrug* still going for style i see. i gave up and went geth scanner's dirty path. my awareness is crap, plus i needed wallhaxing emergency relocations bud, you can't tank on those shields. if you're down that path means incoming dps is high don't just boost boost and gtfo strategically yeah bud, every time i watch those it's like yeah well, i have no idea how to even attempt to get on that level

I haven't tried with the thermal scope yet. I feel like that, in addition to GS, is what I'll need to get by.

On 7.2, i have trouble with the soft cover bugs at the corner of win and rocket trooper primed on spawn (on obj waves) for special 2-6 rockets combos

is it just DF, QGG, and me? DistigousForest , i skimmed through your posts, but sort of lost track have you done 7.2 yet? I've only given 7.2 one attempt, failed late wave 5 or 6 on a stupid play that got me stun-locked. Attempted Ariake, didn't go well. I've been getting really lucky so far with no devices on 7.1, but that luck may be running out soon. I'm always going down wave 4. My best attempt I failed the mission in the EZ somewhere between the extraction clock hitting 0:00 and the enemies disappearing. That was a really solid run, good-ish objectives and time. I haven't tried with the thermal scope yet. I feel like that, in addition to GS, is what I'll need to get by. Both piercing mods let you shoot through a lot of shit though. Troopers are easily shot through walls, possible double hits on Phantoms and Atlas, and Phantoms are hit through walls as well. I went the Disruptor/Mantis route and I was rarely fighting outside of GS range. I will say on my successful attempt I had a really good rhythm going and my timing was pretty good that everything was always funneling toward me in my loop around the map. I had Goons and Phantoms running through choke points the whole match. I was forcing Phantoms to bubble and if there was more than two close to me I ran and tried to isolate them. CS to force the bubble>two Mantis shots>CS for TB and knockdown>final Mantis shot if needed. Goons were just CS>Mantis headshot ftw.

Unless I was having a bug the other day, I couldn't see shit in the smoke with just GS, and it was getting me killed due to not killing. sounds like a bug indeed. unless... ahem, uhm... you forgot to equip it you know? Yes... Did I use Sniper Amp? Did I use Stronghold? I am going to watch my failures... Haven't recorded too many of them, as I need to get more success early or I'm wasting my time, but maybe the evidence is there. Otherwise, I will give Ash another go or two, then work on 7.1 for a minute again. 7.1 - I just need to be patient. Wave 5 keeps being a pita, and it is just impatience. I cannot stand going slow, which is a problem for these higher level solos. Some of you have it down pat, and can be patient and win. I cannot be patient and win; that is why I failed Platinum solos for so long and still haven't finished one with a non-cheese kit (3 factions took a Reegar sandwich, the other got Geth Flamered to death). I have a bunch of 30 minute wave 9 and 10 Platinum fails tho Basically, I am too good (in my mind lol) to be patient, and not good enough to kill as fast as my impatience demands. Thus, I am a scrub who cannot learn his limits. This reflects me in real life
