so i finally* dragged myself to do a copule of Ariake attempts on Saturday. the best one saw me through to wave 6 devices with a smug ravenger sniping me from the LZ spawn point across the terrain. praise be the glorious Condor and the "working as intended" map design.
larsdt , good to see you here bud. apologies that i sorta let your update fall flat afetr egging you on in the PHoF. just that in between a silly lurgy and complete apathy my forum interaction kinda throttled down quite a bit. glad to hear you gnawing at the pullups and i'm sure you'll get there. and i can't remember whether i mentioned, that was a first (not the last) challenge where i went full scrub mode. Geth scanner, full cyclonics, full fitness, and just focused on kiting and chipping away at the spawns. it made for an ugly time for sure but hey, there's always reruns right
xelander , good to see you in this neck of the woods i have to admit you had me a bit confused with your End Scene vs. Servant remark until i remembered that you're improving on your Platinum series. Just imagining 3 primes, London, and the 10ws requirement to boot alone gave me a severe case of PTSD. So thanks for that. And congrats on getting another one nicely squared with some bloody insane time too

yeah i kinda agree... aint particualry thrilled about the results either not as bad as my few earlier attempts, so at least kept this one overnigt. got to experimenting with the larger avatart yesterdays so was trying to figure out the ratio/sizes i could get away with mainly. so for a first cut took a bit of a shortcut there and started off with better quality gif i could find and not the original video. got what i dserved there, - the frames are off and tranistion aint smooth. the positioning aint great and couldnt make up my mind about the focal point

Clearly you cant stay in the open and int the LoS of 3 mooks plus other stuff. That wld do most of the time, but sometimes, u get unlucky and shot 3 times almost instantly and killed at once . I m still puzzled how the gates doesnt look to work at all in those instances. They are supposed to last .1 s on gold, so shouldnt be an instant drop.
edit: looking at it again, you r dropped by the left cannibal alone ... even stranger.

Thanks for your sound and sensible advice guys, it's much appreciated indeed. That clip's purpose was mainly for laugh at my overwhelming scrubbery and a lack of discipline. quite obvious even to myself the very moment it happened, I remember this going off in my head
...just as the cloak broke with me opening fire. the first mistake. but then it got better casting stasis on the second cannibal instead of the lead one. thus missing out completely on tone or both ,potentially, walking in the bubble. and yep instead of leaving the bubbled one alone and dealing with the other two (or even cloaking/rolling again) proceed to firing and comboing it
it's not like the game not gave me enough chances to recover there really but scrubs will be scrubs eh

well, with only cannibals (Marauder+ravager are another story )... and only one shooting, that shouldn't be possible. But i agree it clearly felt like you were out of the safe zone.

It's only on w10 and extraction that they camp or on w6 if they are targets on every other wave they attack, but those they get timid and it's really annoying. I'd have taken any other objective, but ofc I get targets devices.
I just need to get my glorious Asari empire take its rightful place in the galaxy first quiickly. To cleanse all the infidels and non-believers with a pure incandescent righteousness of their minds!! To unleash the horors of the Sovereign, the world eater on those resisting!!
i finally caved in and got myself Stellaris when it was on sale last... did not realise how much i missed the good ole 4x. already sunk in a couple hundred hours. a few things i still kinda miss and a few minor gripes but not material. highly recommend. Oh, and the icing on the cherry, on top of the cake, made of lots smaller cakes... the Asari civilisation mod, really well done community mod

I've given 7.2 a few tries and they weren't pretty. I've only made it to w6 in my best attempt. I do not like Geth on London it's so buggy and the cover is not cover and walls aren't walls, but it's still not as bad as Vancouver. Needless to say I'm closer to getting 7.1 than I am to 7.2. It's not taking a toll yet though because I'm only giving it an attempt or two a week so I'm not burning myself out on it. I'll fire up the game, give 7.1 a try and if I don't get it I'll PUG so it's not like I'm giving it 4 or 5 attempts in a row and failing all of them (at least; it keeps me sane).

All the other time it's the silly RL that keeps interfering ...that or me falling asleep in my chair or somesuch silliness. Anyways, so where was i. Ah, the weekends right, and one is coming up a real opportunity to settle that Ariake business.......
But my self motivation, or determination, or whatever, has dwindled down to the point of non-existence and the chance are high i'd be slacking off instead, fooling around with my Mantis AA, or even start another campaign in Stellaris.
Sigh.
Sure as Ariake takes the top spot of the N7 challenges just ain't sure what category that might be. Don't think its the difficulty, there are better challenges. More of an exercise in ...Patience? Boredom? Futility? Meh. Just need to get on with it innit

7.1 sucked until I found the exact right build and loadout. After that it was just objectives cooperating, since I love soloing Glacier already. I'm sure you'll find the sweet spot, Forest.
7.2 took me way more tries than Ariake, but again, loadout made a huge difference there as well, and knowing where the real and fake walls were. As far as Ariake, I gave in to the idea that it would be an hour regardless of how well I played and that helped me get thru it with minimal attempts (probably around 20) which isn't a lot if you knew how many 7.2 took.
