Here's what I'll offer: 7.1 sucked until I found the exact right build and loadout. After that it was just objectives cooperating, since I love soloing Glacier already. I'm sure you'll find the sweet spot, Forest. 7.2 took me way more tries than Ariake, but again, loadout made a huge difference there as well, and knowing where the real and fake walls were. As far as Ariake, I gave in to the idea that it would be an hour regardless of how well I played and that helped me get thru it with minimal attempts (probably around 20) which isn't a lot if you knew how many 7.2 took. You did Ariake because of me.Just admit it Clyde.

Sorry for interjecting as a layman on the 10WS subject but... learn2shell? It's a damn useful thing if you can deploy it without delay, which is a matter of two simple config file manipulations.

Shell? Elaborate.... And what config manipulations are you talking about? Because usually when you want to shell, it's too late to wait for the default delay before heavy melee (it's 0.3s). But this can be bypassed: use any Coalesced editor, find the bioinput.ini.sfxgame.sfxgamemodebase.bindings section and add something like ( Name="InstantMelee", Command="TryHeavyMelee" ) there, then find bioinput.ini.sfxgame.sfxgamemodedefault.00000409.localizedbindings (or *.0000040c.* if you're using a French keyboard), find the element with the key you want to bind instant heavy melee to (or create if it doesn't exist) and replace the command there with "InstantMelee" (or however you named this before). This section is AFAIK overwritten by in-game settings, so free the key in the game, reboot and you should now have a key that does heavy melee the moment you press it. Works for all classes, if you trigger persistent "melee" with it (volus, geth), hold "move backwards" and tap your usual light melee once to break.

^ I thought modding wasn't allowed in these challenges. Things like these make PC solos so difficult to trust. With a few clicks and edits, the entire game can be changed.

Of course modding is not allowed.Cherry is well known cheater tho. Of course, sometimes I feel guilty for pugs who seem to be trying to reproduce how I play the Shadow. Seriously though, I'm a little bit confused now. After I saw this thread, I assumed that at least some PC BSNers run with a form of deep rebinding and it's considered OK, like the Crusader patch. Was I wrong?

Was I wrong? yeah, fixing game obvious flaws is allowed, but bypassing animation times are clearly altering the game design itself. Except maybe fixing the incy glitch, or the weight glitch ! and yeah, it s only crusaderfix and FoV stuff (i think that FoV stuff was forbidden in one series)

I'm at the objectives cooperating part. I've got the sweet spot to camp and if I'm not too aggressive (see stupid) on wave 4 I'm set. If waves 6 and 10 are anything other than devices I'm good, maybe. Lord knows I've failed on extraction and post w10 plenty too on this challenge. 7.2 took me way more tries than Ariake, but again, loadout made a huge difference there as well, and knowing where the real and fake walls were. The fake walls suuuuuuuck and are the main source of rage for 7.2.

I misunderstood what was done with this instant HM key. It s not bypassing the animation, it s bypassing the 0.3 s of maintaining the melee key to trigger the HM. One could argue it s game design (most probably console buttons number), but it s grey territory for me, i would just accept that kind of enhanced controls myself, at least for PC HoFs

*squinting at the console/modding trail* uhm... yeah. that's why i make a point to revert, and double check if that, back to the Vanilla erritime i'm up for some challenges.
So with that out of the way, back onto the topic with you thread.
so last night took my w{h}eezball for a nice evening stroll on a moon of sorts, or some such, to admire some beaitful, if a tad heavy on the blue end of the spectrum scenery, and all but ended up instead gatecrashing some party some frankemonsters were busy with... that not ended well. stomped by some jumpy cray amputees on steroids. ah well.

The challenge search will lead you to Fight For The Lost where you can find the challenge Blitzkrieg. It has HSol and Claymore, so exactly what you're looking for. There's also Ash with the HSol. I know you like the Mantis

Yet another Ariake flop over the weekend. The silly W7 bumrush strikes (!) again. Caught in crossfire by the trucks with my pants do- shield boost, shield boost on cooldown. A really weird game overall. Started off quite well bu then things started getting progressively uhm... laggy over the course of it. That's probably the best way to describe the experience. With all the usual bull we get in a really laggy game, but on host. Not yet to the point of getting unplayable but still quite annoying overall. Couldn't get myself to commit to another run after 45 mins of the slog

thanks Al i just as well might give it a go. doubt it would do much for my survivability overall but at the very least that will stop me blinding myself with the stasis bubbles in my face courtesy of condor's scenery geometry brilliance
