I'm sure you can get a capture device on the cheap now You have no clue what it's like in Finland. Prices never changed, "used" things come at the same price as new (even if the "new" one is actually a better model), there's a 200-300% markup on everything vaguely tech related. Damn

PS. We're really hijacking Doc's thread now i'm sure Doc wouldn't mind much, right Doc, especially if the resuld is luring you back in doing the gold run with us and yeah well i watched your videos so yeah you may as well stop selling yourself short and drop the scrub facade hehe I love the turn that "my" thread has taken. I wanted to get more visibility for the N7 challenges and I think I did exactly that. Also as I said it in the beginning any suggestion from the veterans of the game is welcome, so please keep them coming...

And this sh.. This is my build if anyone is interested. My buildIf I can give any advice. Go for headshots. Don't bother with grabs, unless you have a good opportunity. Otherwise you'll achieve 20 HS without a problem. Wave 1 and I had 10 hs already. The rest you'll have even by accident. 10 waves to go, you know? And nades save lifes. Really. Watching my run a minute ago, I ran A LOT. But I picked off Ravagers and Brutes when isolated, rather than trying to deal with Banshees so much. I also used Carnage for Tech Bursts quite a bit, so Sonashii I'd say you may want to take 6 ranks of Carnage if that will be your strategy. Not only will it help on the Tech Bursts but it will make much more powerful Fire Explosions when you Carnage + Frag.

Banshees were always last for me unless I could frag them into oblivion for a quick kill. Our strategies are very similar then, I'd get them whittled down from Carnage and frags from a distance and have them easier to kill when they get close. Same with Banshees, try to take a few bars of armor early so they're easier to kill later. I went no AR so I can spam Carnage. Sonashii if you're interested here's my build, lots of fire so it's great vs armor, poor vs Banshee barriers. I tried to hold the whole back area by the box of shame and it works well, but you always need to know where the Banshees are since they can jump to you quite quickly.

Only I think you need AR for the shield boost for those emergencies when you get sniped by a Banshee warp that flies through half the map and the hard cover you're standing behind. Not to mention the weapon damage boost. God knows the Katana needs it.

The damage imo is made up for by spamming Carnage and Incendiary ammo boosting Carnage's damage. Not as many issues with warp balls on Rio as I did on Vancouver with 6.I. Fuck Vancouver, that poor excuse for a map.

SitrepI gave this challenge another shot. Well it was even worse than the previous one 68 mins and wiped on wave 9. Despite the fact that I finished wave 8 with 4 missiles 1 ops pack, 2 gels and 1 ammo pack. I think I was too confident wanted to save my missiles for wave 10 but it wasn't meant to be that way. I'm with Clyde on that one. Personally AR is a must for my scrubby skillz. Sorry Distigous but I'm too nooby for your offensive build But thank you for the suggestion! Mine was 66635 this time. muahmuah I think I could cheat on this challenge, why not? Only I had to make sure to beat your time. I think sub 20 would be possible then

Reapers are my prefered solo faction, I'm most comfortable with them, but the warp balls just defy logic. So often have I been hit through hard cover, or in places that just make no sense. I've had a banshee in the LZ of White hit me on the back stairwell, through the lower doors. They're as bad as triple-tapping, hard-cover-ignoring rocket troopers sometimes. Admittedly, outside of wave 10 grabs (Pretty much every Volus solo for me ends this way), it's Marauders that get me, I just admit the game out-played me when the Marauder troll-pack has its way and refuses to kite, camping the hack circle/etc, master ambushers at work. It's still the banshees that boggle the mind for me.

Run past an Atlas that just fires off a rocket and it somehow reverses direction almost instantly and hits you, fuck off you physics defying rocket POS.

I bring either a Salarian or the Paladin with the Venom and have my way with them, it's almost a fair trade off for their ridiculous semiautomatic rocket fire. They shoot through the windows on Glacier, for fuck sake. There is no worse cheater than that in the game.

But when the rockets start flying before the trooper is even out of cover, and then three of them hit you in succession from one rocket launcher? Nah, that's maddening worse than the stunlock or even the frozen Hunter shooting you.

Nah, that's maddening worse than the stunlock or even the frozen Hunter shooting you. Hunters always seem to shoot me just as the reload is about to finish..and then I gotta do it again, like twice, because it happens again haha. I'd rate them about the same, but yes the triple (I've even have them quad rocket) tap rockets are infuriating. There's a reason I love the Falcon GE vs. Geth, stun locking those bastards is a lot of fun and great payback.

There is just simply no accounting for Geth BS. The places those rockets come out of, the speed, the general stunlock, Immune Bombers, and then the Hunter BS, every single Geth unit cheats, even Phantroll DR and Dragoon Miniguns-Of-Doom don't come close to the generalized BS of Geth. Collectors might have spacehacks powers with memleak, but they are otherwise pretty free of BS, only really butt-lazers to content with.
I could rant all day about Geth BS, but I wont.

Quick question for those playing on PC, what software are people using to record gameplay videos / take screenshots etc? (Side rant, how the heck does Origin NOT have a screenshot feature!) Thanks! Arkhne If any race makes me swear at my screen, it's Geth! Picture this if you will; Hunter stuns you, Bomber flys over to you as you recover from Hunter stun, Bomber stuns you, you turn to run, Prime's Drone stuns you even though the Prime himself is out of sight, still recovering from stun the hunter shoots you again and health gate fails... You die! I will assume this sounds familiar And people told me Dark Souls was hard, PAH! They know nothing, I'd rather fight Nameless King naked than solo Geth!

For screenshots (on W10), I press the Windows button + PrtSc, which saves the grab to File Explorer - Pictures. For video-capture, I've used Overwolf in the past, which is free and works pretty well. Problem-is, I use a ThinkPad (which is a business-oriented laptop with integrated graphics) for playing ME3, and Overwolf's GPU- (my CPU is an i7, which is fine) overhead takes the gameplay's FPS into very jerky territory; but if you use a reasonably capable desktop or a laptop with a discrete GPU, then you should - I suppose - be fine. By the by, in order for the above screenshot-taking method to function, you need to ensure that 'Windows (No Border)' is chosen in ME3's Options - Graphics - Windows Mode menu.

I hate you all Went for a 66653 build, grenade capacity and the katana (for reference, the first time around I had full fitness, survivor loadout and the Revenant); I still opted for CM because I am scrub. I tried to get the medals out of the way as early as possible: headshots by wave 3, shotgun kills by wave 6; I am not used to this build, but even without optimizing the use of katana-carnage-frag grenades, I would do obscene amounts of damage to armour; Ravagers were my nemesis the first time around, but this time they melted. In exchange, marauders were truly pesky. I was concerned about banshees, esp double waves, but I found them manageable: the DoT from inc ammo gives you a little leeway before their barriers regenerate - the downside is that I found the DoT actually prevents banshees from exiting their warp-ball tossing state, leaving you with no other option than plinking away with your gun (but see later). One trick I used: carnage, being a power, primes on barriers too. If you are quick and lucky, you can get a fire explosion off barriers by detonating with a grenade, and that's usually enough to stop them. That means you can decide where to engage them, which I gleefully (ab)used to stop them in the short corridor between the stairs and the 3-grenade dispensing box; the hand of denial goes up only if the banshee sees you, so I bounced up to 6+3 (+tcps if you are so inclined) grenades around the corner; even with a few missing, that takes a big chunck of health off banshees. I don't regret speccing 6 ranks in AR and going up the defensive tree: with only 3 ranks in fitness, you can survive a warp ball, but it will shield gate you and leave you very vulnerable to the marauder which is lurking around the corner. Though I usually hoard my missiles for wave 10, I did nuke double banshees on wave 8, and a spawn on wave 9: those two waves can easily become a war of attrition, leading to a loss by lack of consumables. I shaved 20 minutes off of my last try and while some of that can certainly be attributed to a good dose of git gud, I found this build to be smoother and more enjoyable. Sectiplave , I use the window snipping tool to grab screenshots; there are certainly smoother ways to do it, but I like it because I can name the pic right away upon saving it For videos, I use Geforce Experience.

When you've had enough of the Geth BS, I strongly recommend to go on a Krolord, melee Kroguard or Batguard foray against them. Nothing more FUN than bashing toasters and sending them surfing...

I recomend Bandicam.A very light program, which can record 4K videos.I have Geforce Experience too,but it sucks hard. Also geth are walk in the park on Gold, but they are the hardest faction on Plat.I have to solo vs them on Dagger Hazard,Rio,Vancouver,Ghost hazard for one title in Platinum solos thread.Nice?

Here's my little motivation to everyone doing N7 gold runs. I need a beer. Right now... My build was 66606. Yes, I skipped passives altogether. Put GS instead of Grenade Capacity. Nades specced for Shield Overload (for stupid Marauders) and Incendiary Rounds IV. RNG gave me Devices - Escort - Devices... I don't want to get into details. Trust me.. it was my 7th try and I'm tempted to say it wasn't worth it. Finished 6 waves with only 1 gel lost and 1 missile used. So it was nice start for the second part of the run. If the rest of the series may look like this, I won't even start it [..] Also geth are walk in the park on Gold, but they are the hardest faction on Plat.I have to solo vs them on Dagger Hazard,Rio,Vancouver,Ghost hazard for one title in Platinum solos thread.Nice? It's a nice payback for all the terror you gave me over the last couple of months Get your groove on soldier!
