ME 3 is the exception because of ... er something I disliked very much that I never wanted to see or experienced again after the first PT. And tsk tsk,  do at least clean out your PC. If not once every three months, once every six. Canned air is a must.

dragontartare yes, what you have mentioned contributed as well to my discounting Jacobs as an LI. I think a lot of players had exactly the same reaction to Hale's performance there. Yeah, it's a really odd directing decision to allow one actor to sound so seductive and the other so dry in the same conversation. I like Hale otherwise.
I don't recall the exact thread but the subject was the hows and ways of voice recording for ME. Apparently Hale did all her lines basically in a vacuum and then everyone else's lines were done by playing off her recorded lines. I'd say whoever edited together the dialogue is more to blame than the VAs, since it's pretty much a given there are multiple takes of these things. [see: STEEEEEVE thread for broShep as an example  . Also the "What's going on here?" vs "WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!" dilemma in DAI.]

I know, I was blaming the directing, not the voice actors. I remember watching an interview with Jo Wyatt that explained that the VAs do all their lines in a room by themselves without being told much about the project (she didn't even realize Hawke was the protagonist, in that particular case). |

It just amazes me though that line made it through Bioware's QC team... i.e. Why no one sent it back for a different version to be selected. It almost makes me wonder if something happened that the recordings of the various lines didn't take or got erased or destroyed somehow, making it so they only had the one version to choose from. |

Let the mod overwrite the things it needs to change and leave the rest as is. Unfortunately the creator of the mod doesn't appear to be supporting it anymore but nothing has changed in ME2 or the mod so if it's worked for others it should work for you. |

Perfect! Now just make sure you turned off the automatic updates in the Origin settings, 'cause otherwise that will probably mess up your game on the next restart.
EDIT: Be aware, there are two options in the Origin settings:
- One is for keeping Origin itself up to date, you can leave that one on.
- The other is for updating the games themselves, that's the one you want turned off.

I used the WEbsite save but must have clicked the wrong button cuz I thought you guys said I could remake my Shephard and rename them even with an import save? The intro: Firey red planet makes me think of The Planet Char from Star Craft. I turned on subtitles. I snorted in laughter when I saw Miranda was talking to an "illusive man." With the Cigarette, reminds me of who Fox Mulder was going after in X files. On top of that, Miranda's speech about Shepherd reminds me of Cassandra's speech about Hawke. Ships getting blown up. Guess that explains the "normandy crash site" I downloaded. Kaidan was there and I ordered him away. Felt dramatic. I'm liking this head canon that I have liekd Kaidan all along but Shephard didn't realise till this moment... not that it matters, he's not in 2. So, she'll have to distract herself with other men.  And juuuuust as I was going after Joker (haha, I missed the stairs and I have no way of knowing where to go so I ran back and forth twice before seeing them.) My computer restarted. How nice.  |

phoray You can remake Shepard after the intro scene... which kinda is the reason why there is a remake possible.  Sorry to hear about your PC still misbehaving. This may be related to the power supply... if you can try an alternative one (fat chance, I know) to see if the problem goes away, go for that.

The part where you're suddenly in space and can hear your breathing over everything else was pretty darn cool So there I was thinking... Wow. There is no way Shephard survived lack of oxygen and a crash from space. How they going to make her live through that one? They didn't, she totally died, and they somehow remade her. Crazy stuff. is 4 Billion credits a lot? I went from liking Miranda ( I know she's straight) to not liking Miranda at all. Also, I said I may not leave with them and she acted like she didn't care. Which contradicted her statement before that I was the only reason any of this was happening =mega important. Also, they didn't actually let me try to refuse to leave. SO I made an empty threat to go save civilians I guess.  Jacob's alright, I'm meh about him at this point and I just saved before going to talk to Illusive Man. Even funnier they actually call him that. Jacob vouched for my fighting skills and I laughed. my version of aiming was run straight at them shooting. By the way, Where is the Black Emporium of Mass Effect 2? Looks like I can cut paper with these cheek bones and the red in my hair isn't red enough. |

Sadly, the Lazarus project was a one of a kind and doesn't come with any warranty or upgrade options. Meaning there is sadly no Black Emporium in Mass Effect (any)... you'll have to remain cautious near those cheek bones. On the bright side - you are close to or have already seen one of my favorite cinematics of the trilogy! |

Unfortunately, the only option you have to change the appearance of Shepard is right at the beginning of the game... i.e. start over and try again. It's the same way in ME1 and ME3... hopefully, ME:A will offer a bit more flexibility that way. |

Yep, ME fans (me included) have advocated for this option for years, especially because the CC in the ME games doesn't necessarily give a very good indication of how Shep will look with real in-game lighting (there are barely any shadows in the CC, while they are very prominent in game for example). Although I am usually a stickler for lore, I wouldn't even mind if they don't integrate this in the lore at all, just add a mirror or something in the cabin and never mention it. I doubt anyone would have a problem with that. Gileadan : Agreed, it's one of the highlights of the series, in large parts because of the music but for me it was also because seeing Joker again and getting to name my new ship Normandy again(which in my headcanon is already a bit of a knock against TIM, since I smashed a bunch of Cerberus operations with the old Normandy) was a highlight in what I otherwise found to be a very rocky beginning. I wasn't a fan of the whole narrative of the Lazarus project, of forcing the player to switch to Cerberus or of Shepard going from hero to lackey in an instant. At least now, I had my own ship again, at least one person I knew I could trust and the freedom to at least partially defy TIM, so that was good.
I wonder how phorey will see it, not having played ME1 and not having the connection to Joker or the old ship or the narrative rip that happened between ME1 and 2 |
