Shep to Expat: "Tell me about Feros." Expat: "Blah blah. hmmmm, I just realized I haven't heard from my contact there in a while *pause* Sure he's fine." Nothing ominous about that.

I'm pretty committed to a Femshep/Kaidan/Wrex Combo, but man, Garrus really sounded like he wanted to be there to get the info from Fist and prove Saren is a POS. So he came along. Then he goes and gets himself killed as soon as we get to Fist's turrets.

So how do you guys RP a Renegade Shep doing all these Fetch Quests? At least in the Keeper Scanning thing, there is money involved, but the Volus didn't offer to pay for the Security Job.
I don't play cruel renegades, more like "don't waste my time" renegades. Threats of violence work just as well as the actual thing most of the time on folks like Jahleed. My renegade did ponder shooting both of them though.

I got 17 of the 21 Keepers before I hit a wall. I really think I've been everywhere, so must mean maybe the rest are in a location I haven't gotten access to yet You are able to access all areas of the Citadel at this point, so it isn't that you can't get to them. Some of the are very well hidden though. For example, did you find the one out on the deck behind the bartender in the embassy lounge? Have you spotten the one in Citadel Control (it's tucked away behind a glass "fence" along one side of the area)? Have you found the one in the Normandy docking bay? Have you found the one in the little room behind Delan's Emporium? Have you spotted the one inside Flux?

It's not buggy, just very specific lines are required to shut down the romances before the argument. Again, my female Shepard was accused by Liara of having a thing for Ashley. I have no same sex romance mods. I'm not sure what you'd call that except "buggy." It's okay, because I intend to blow her away either on Virmire or later in ME3 with my gun. That'd be funny, romance her in ME1 with RenShep, move on to Jack, then shoot AShley in 3. ...It's always nice to have goals in life. Am I supposed to point at an object to throw at a baddie to use throw or just point it at the baddie and then the AI grabs the nearest object? The biotic power "throw?" You aim it at the baddie, and baddie goes flying. Ashley is glitching in that she keeps remaining way way way behind even though I keep ordering her to be next to me :/ This kept happening to me on Noveria, except it was Garrus doing it Trying to find all of them will take you all over the Citadel, every level. Leave no stone unturned, no corridor unexplored. They're such a pain in the ass to find. I resorted to using a guide to find the last few Liara is delusional and insanely jealous of Ashley and she comes from a species where gender has no meaning. I haven't played FemShep enough to know whether there should be a Kaidan line in place of the Williams one; but I'm not particularly fussed if the writers set it up so that Liara only mentions Ashley. If there is a line about Kaidan instead, then I would agree there is a bug with that (code breaking). What I was referring to was about Liara "ninjamancing" Shepard. I've never had a problem with it. If I tell her I just want to be friends and don't ask about the Asari again after that point , I have never had the argument scene trigger (i.e. I wound up romancing Ashley only or I wound up romancing no one). When I have asked about the Asari after telling Liara I wanted to be friends (which leads Liara to reveal a bunch of personal sexual information about being a pureblood and causes her to interpret that Shepard is interested in her after all), it has triggered the argument, but I was able to tell her during the argument that I preferred Ashley. However, if you also shut down the Ashley romance by telling her she's "Out of Line" when she mentions Garrus and Wrex, you won't have that opportunity since there won't be an argument. However, I have also successfully angered Liara enough during the conversation at the lockers that she has not shown up in Shepard's cabin. I did not import that Shepard into ME2, though, so I can't say for sure whether the romance flag was turned off at that point. I do know if you turn her away in your cabin, the romance flag stays on through ME2 and ME3. In short, I don't think the "ninjamancing" is caused by a bug, but rather it's caused by the player not being able to identify the very specific lines that the game needs to be said to shut the romance arks down. Maybe that in itself is considered a bug by some; but I don't because there isn't code breaking there than I can detect. The writer's aren't obligated to make every NPC likeable to every player. Liara definitely has some personality traits that, to me at least, are not very likeable. Ashley certainly as personality traits that aren't likeable, as does Kaidan. Garrus, Tali and Wrex don't really have any character development at all in ME1. Overall, character development in ME1 is rather thin... we only get a few lines of dialogue to sort out "who" these people are and their core beliefs. So, it's not surprising to me that the romances come across as being somewhat hamfisted.

Saren accuses of Anderson being involved in a prior investigation regarding him? o-o
Also, I find it cringe worthy when Anderson submits Shep's dream/vision into evidence with so much sincerity. Can't remember if you have read all the books...because there is a book about that prior mission. Name escapes me though, despite reading all the books. Mass Effect: Revelation.

Did you go to the air traffic controllers room for Emily Wong's mission? o! a place I haven't been. @upagain - For example, did you find the one out on the deck behind the bartender in the embassy lounge? YES
- Have you spotten the one in Citadel Control (it's tucked away behind a glass "fence" along one side of the area)? YES
- Have you found the one in the Normandy docking bay? ..... I haven't left the Citadel, so I haven't been there
- Have you found the one in the little room behind Delan's Emporium? I think so, I've been to a lot of shops and have totally met Delan
- Have you spotted the one inside Flux? Nope! and I even went there looking, darn me. I'll have to try again.
So it seems I haven't been to Air Traffic Control (unless that's Citadel Control?), the Docking Bay, Flux, and MAYBE Delan's emporium. Even though I have met him.

I was once ninjamanced by her just trying to be nice but dumped her for Kaidan as soon as it became available in ME3. She was pissed but got over it.

When I say revised it's more of a joke. She was misquoted. Honestly, I never quite understood why that one line caused such a fuss. I mean, Ash tells us that she never worked with aliens before because she was always on colony duty. At least in ME1 (unfortunately somewhat retconned in ME2 and 3 later) humans that don't happen to work on spaceships or the Citadel have very little contact with aliens and knowledge is often misrepresented in the media, quite apparently (just think of that excited young C-Sec dude you meet in the wards). So, when she gets out there and sees Elcor and Keepers for the first time, well, it may be a dumm comment but I before reading the internet shitstorm, I never figured it as a racist slur to be honest. Same with her remarks on the council (the whole dog/bear thing). To me, that was always a political metaphor (and not a bad assessment of the situation at that actually). Anyway, yes, Ash is not the most openminded and (other)worldly individual (mainly due to her limited exposure, I'd say) but I still maintain that she is far from being a racist.

I seem to recall certain playthroughs where Garrus seemed to be dying all the time - maybe something about the specs that Bioware gave him in ME1. I haven't had the problem too much in my current playthrough, though I've often had him hang back with his sniper rifle while Shepard and the other squadmate handle the close-quarters combat. I never really understood Jahleed's plan. Why did he think that Shepard would arrest or kill Chorban based simply on hearsay? Granted, Chorban can freak out and order his people to fire on Shepard depending on the dialogue choices, but if you already know him from the keeper-scanning quest, it's easy enough to just talk to Chorban and get him to tell you the whole story.

Ashely: "I can't tell the aliens from the animals." Revised in ME2 as "Aliens and humans, we're all just animals". Supposedly her famous quote her on the Citadel. I didn't see that as an actual retcon attempt, but rather an implication that either the story got passed along inaccurately or that the Alliance and/or Council purposely fudged it to obscure her actual sentiments. The thing about Ashley's quote that bothers me is that it just seems like the sort of thing she should know better than to say. Even if she hasn't really seen many aliens before, it would be like a tourist going to a foreign country and loudly announcing that "these people all look the same" or something like that. Given that everyone seems to have something like a universal translator switched on in Mass Effect, somebody could have easily heard it and taken offense to it. Wouldn't the Alliance have some sort of cultural orientation for its people before they start working with aliens? (For that matter, it seems to me that Shepard shouldn't need to ask why the hanar call themselves "this one" or why the elcor announce their emotions at the start of each sentence, though those questions are probably more for the player's benefit than for character realism.)

I'm not sure what happens if Shepard has already definitively turned down Ashley or Kaidan by then. I think there is a bug, though, in that if Shepard picks the middle-right "I'm not interested" response, you only get friendship dialogue from Liara after that, but if you pick the bottom-right one, both Liara and Shepard act as if there was a mutual interest expressed and will continue down the path of the romance dialogue. I also recall that for FemShep, at least, the middle-right option is very straightforward and neutrally voiced ("I'm not interested in you in that way, Liara"), whereas the wording and tone of voice for the bottom-right option is comparatively apologetic, which also seems odd. I know I encountered this at least once, and I ended up spacebarring through the romance scenes and editing the Liara romance variable out with the Gibbed mod when I imported to ME2.

I know I encountered this at least once, and I ended up spacebarring through the romance scenes and editing the Liara romance variable out with the Gibbed mod when I imported to ME2. I don't think the bottom right is intended to shut the romance down... just to make a romance more fiery (renegade romance). Certainly, going bottom right with Ashley during her first conversation at the weapons station does not lock out a romance. Selecting the left option "You're out of line" is what does it there. I think they moved it over to the left because there is a middle right option there that still allows a romance to possibly get picked up later. With Liara, the re-introduction of the romance option appears to hinge on asking details about the Asari AFTER having used the "just friends" middle option. If, as you describe, Liara should mention Kaidan to Femshep, then that she didn't do that with dragontartare must indeed be a bug.

I never played ME1 to be ninjamanced by Liara, but I worried she'd try to snipe my Shep in ME3 post Thane's death when I played, and I did find that it was DIFFICULT to take a neutral stance with her. I didn't hate/dislike her and I didn't love her and the neutral options (that I construed as not mean but not flirting) were limited. But I guess I'll find out!
