Clutch History

60% of pug matches.

I need to revive them pugs more often.

The horror of realising that I'll have to solo is accompanied with me screaming "you are not allowed to die, you idiots! Screw you! Who gave you permission to die and make me solo?!?!? I hate you all! I hate you, hate you, hate you!" etc. etc. until the end of the wave. I don't want to solo, I'm not good enough to solo (at least gold) and I perform poorly under pressure. Luckily this happens very rarely, since usually I'm the first to die.

I almost never ever end up with clutchs. I use my rockets if things are going sideways on almost any round and I do everything in my power to keep team mates alive.

Back when I was still pretty new at this game I remember on w7 of Cerberus Plat my entire team got downed and stomped right at the start of the wave. I, a lone fat Turian Soldier with a Saber I and power efficiency II (didn't have any other armor mods), stepped up to do my heroic duty and clutch the wave and carry those pugs to glory whether they liked it or not.

but I didn't because five seconds after the rest of my team went I got my dumbfat turianass synced by a phantom and died horribly

I had to clutch wave 3 geth after the prime sync killed everyone else.

As long as I don't have to deal with an army of on host flipping death squad Phantoms, then yeah, I don't mind cleaning up a little. Though nothing in particular comes to mind.

I don't mind clutching 1 wave...maybe 2 ---if its more than that then most likely I will run right into the nearest sync kill .....cuz if I wanted to solo, I would have set it up that way.

i hate it so much omg. you know everyone's watching you and wanting you to hurry up, and it just makes the pressure worse.


i remember two clutchs i made in gold with one of my friends. one was in geth/reactor and i was running all around the map while he was messaging me to just die/use missiles, but i managed it... only to die the next wave because of low level pugs, and my friend can only use two gels.


my other/favorite clutch, that i've posted recently in another thread, was collectors/Hwhite/gold. wave 10 was an escort, and i ended up using all my missiles to making sure it got there with less than 20 seconds to spare. DIDN'T HELP THAT SOME PLAYERS WEREN'T HELPING IN THE BEGINNING. but they were cheering me on through their mics, and made sure to protect me in the other games we played. my friend kept referring to himself as a mama bird because he was so determined to pick me up everytime i dropped.

I've clutched more than my share of waves, but I've only really got one that stands out.

It was back during the weekend challenges - Lodestone. I finally got a group of people together to do the platinum part. Not a single one of us had touched platinum prior to the challenge. We did all the matches by camping out in the control room on Giant. It actually worked fairly well! Then on the last game (Reapers I think?), two of them went down early in wave 10, and the third sacrificed himself to finish the last device (got grabbed by a Banshee less than a second after finishing it). My poor, horrifically panicked Vorcha Soldier found himself all alone. And proceeded to unload my entire supply of missiles. And then I still had to run around like a lunatic slowly chipping down the remaining enemies for about 15 minutes. But I succeeded, and we ended up with a full extraction in the end!

The only other clutch (or series of them) that I really remember is stubbornly seeing every match through to the end back when wiping after the wave 10 objective was the popular thing.
